1 E Abrão saiu do Egito para o sul, ele, e sua esposa, e tudo que tinha, e Ló com ele.

2 E Abrão era muito rico em gado, em prata e em ouro.

3 E ele foi em suas viagens do sul até Betel, até o lugar em que sua tenda havia estado no início, entre Betel e Ai,

4 até o lugar do altar, que ele fizera ali no início. E ali Abrão invocou o nome do SENHOR.

5 E Ló também, que foi com Abrão, tinha rebanhos, e gado, e tendas.

6 E a terra não foi capaz de comportá-los, para que eles pudessem habitar juntos. Porque eram muitos os seus bens, de modo que não puderam habitar juntos.

7 E houve contenda entre os pastores do gado de Abrão e os pastores do gado de Ló, e os cananeus e os perizeus habitavam na terra nesse tempo.

8 E Abrão disse a Ló: Que não haja contenda, eu te suplico, entre mim e ti, e entre meus pastores e teus pastores, pois somos irmãos.

9 Não está a terra toda diante de ti? Suplico-te que te apartes de mim. Se tomares a esquerda, então eu irei para a direita. Se te apartares para a direita, então eu irei para a esquerda.

10 E Ló levantou os olhos, e viu toda a planície do Jordão, que era bem regada em todo lugar, antes do SENHOR ter destruído Sodoma e Gomorra, como o jardim do SENHOR, como a terra do Egito, quando se entra em Zoar.

11 Então, Ló escolheu para si toda a planície do Jordão, e Ló viajou para o leste, e eles se apartaram um do outro.

12 Abrão habitou na terra de Canaã, e Ló habitou nas cidades da planície, e armou sua tenda em direção a Sodoma.

13 Mas os homens de Sodoma eram extremamente perversos e pecadores diante do SENHOR.

14 E o SENHOR disse a Abrão, depois que Ló se apartou dele: Eleva agora os teus olhos, e olha do lugar em que estás para o norte, e para o sul, e para o leste, e para o oeste.

15 Porque toda a terra que tu vês, para sempre eu te darei, e à tua semente.

16 E eu farei a tua semente como o pó da terra, de modo que se um homem puder contar o pó da terra, então também a tua semente será contada.

17 Levanta-te, caminha pela terra no seu comprimento e na sua largura, pois a ti eu a darei.

18 Então Abrão removeu a sua tenda, e veio e habitou na planície de Manre, que é Hebrom, e ali edificou um altar ao SENHOR.

1 And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, (and Lot was with him) into the south.

2 And Abram [was] very rich in cattle, in silver and in gold.

3 And he went on his journeys from the south, even to Bethel, to the place where his tent had been from the beginning, between Bethel and Hai,

4 to the place of the altar which he had made there at the first. And Abram called on the name of the LORD there.

5 And Lot, who went with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents.

6 And the land was not able to bear them, that they might live together. For their substance was great, so that they could not live together.

7 And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram's cattle and the herdsmen of Lot's cattle. And the Canaanite and the Perizzite lived then in the land.

8 And Abram said to Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray you, between me and you, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we [are] men, brothers.

9 [Is] not the whole land before you? I pray you, separate yourself from me. If [you go] to the left, then I will go to the right. Or if [you go] to the right, then I will go to the left.

10 And Lot lifted up his eyes and saw all the circuit of Jordan, that it [was] all well watered (before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah,) like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt as you come to Zoar.

11 And Lot chose all the circuit of Jordan for himself. And Lot journeyed east; and they separated themselves from one another.

12 Abram lived in the land of Canaan, and Lot lived in the cities of the circuit and pitched [his] tent toward Sodom.

13 But the men of Sodom [were] wicked and sinners before the LORD, exceedingly so.

14 And after Lot was separated from him, the LORD said to Abram, Lift up your eyes now and look from the place where you are northward and southward, and eastward and westward.

15 For all the land which you see I will give to you, and to your seed forever.

16 And I will make your seed as the dust of the earth, so that if a man can count the dust of the earth, then shall your seed also be counted.

17 Rise up and walk through the land, in the length of it and in the breadth of it, for I will give it to you.

18 And Abram moved [his] tent and came and lived in the oaks of Mamre, which [is] in Hebron. And he built an altar to the LORD there.
