1 O ermo e o lugar solitário serão alegres para eles, e o deserto se regozijará e florescerá como a rosa.
2 Ele florescerá abundantemente e regozijará com alegria e canto. A glória do Líbano será dada a ele, a excelência do Carmelo e Sarom. Eles verão a glória do SENHOR e a excelência de nosso Deus.
3 Fortalecei vós as mãos fracas e firmai os joelhos frágeis.
4 Dizei àqueles que têm um coração medroso: Sede fortes, não temais. Eis que vosso Deus virá com vingança, Deus com uma retribuição. Ele virá e vos salvará.
5 Então, os olhos do cego serão abertos e os ouvidos do surdo desobstruídos.
6 Então, o homem aleijado saltará como um cervo; e a língua do mudo cantará, porque no ermo as águas surgirão, e córregos no deserto.
7 E o chão ressecado tornar-se-á em uma lagoa, e a terra sedenta ribeiros de água. Na habitação de chacais, onde cada um repousa, estarão pastos com canas e juncos.
8 E uma estrada estará lá, e um caminho, e isto será chamado: O caminho de santidade. O impuro não passará por ele, porém ele será para esses: Os caminhantes, por insensatos que sejam, não se extraviarão.
9 Nenhum leão estará lá, nem qualquer animal faminto subirá por ele, ele não será encontrado lá, porém, os redimidos caminharão por ele.
10 E os resgatados do SENHOR retornarão, e virão a Sião com canções e eterna alegria sobre suas cabeças. Eles obterão alegria e júbilo, e a tristeza e o lamento sumirão.
1 The wilderness and the desert shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the crocus.
2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even [with] joy and singing; the glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the honor of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD [and] the majesty of our God.
3 Make the weak hands strong and make the feeble knees sure.
4 Say to those of a hasty heart, Be strong, fear not; behold, your God will come [with] vengeance, with the full dealing of God. He will come and save you.
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6 Then the lame shall leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb shall sing; for in the wilderness waters shall break out, and streams in the desert.
7 And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land shall become springs of water in the home of jackals, in its lair, and a place for the reed and rush.
8 And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called, The Way of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it. But He [shall be] with them; the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err [in it].
9 No lion shall be there, nor [any] beast of prey shall go up on it; it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there.
10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy on their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
