Jó 27

 
1 ¶ E prosseguindo Jó em seu discurso, disse: And Job again took up his parable, and said,
2 Vive Deus, que desviou a minha causa, e o Todo-Poderoso, que amargurou a minha alma. As God liveth, who hath taken away my right, And the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul:
3 Que, enquanto em mim houver alento, e o sopro de Deus nas minhas narinas, (For my life is yet whole in me, And the spirit of God is in my nostrils);
4 Não falarão os meus lábios iniqüidade, nem a minha língua pronunciará engano. Surely my lips shall not speak unrighteousness, Neither shall my tongue utter deceit.
5 Longe de mim que eu vos justifique; até que eu expire, nunca apartarei de mim a minha integridade. Far be it from me that I should justify you: Till I die I will not put away mine integrity from me.
6 A minha justiça me apegarei e não a largarei; não me reprovará o meu coração em toda a minha vida. My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: My heart shall not reproach [me] so long as I live.
7 ¶ Seja como o ímpio o meu inimigo, e como o perverso o que se levantar contra mim. Let mine enemy be as the wicked, And let him that riseth up against me be as the unrighteous.
8 Porque qual será a esperança do hipócrita, havendo sido avaro, quando Deus lhe arrancar a sua alma? For what is the hope of the godless, though he get him gain, When God taketh away his soul?
9 Porventura Deus ouvirá o seu clamor, sobrevindo-lhe a tribulação? Will God hear his cry, When trouble cometh upon him?
10 Deleitar-se-á no Todo-Poderoso, ou invocará a Deus em todo o tempo? Will he delight himself in the Almighty, And call upon God at all times?
11 ¶ Ensinar-vos-ei acerca da mão de Deus, e não vos encobrirei o que está com o Todo-Poderoso. I will teach you concerning the hand of God; That which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
12 Eis que todos vós já o vistes; por que, pois, vos desvaneceis na vossa vaidade? Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; Why then are ye become altogether vain?
13 Esta, pois, é a porção do homem ímpio da parte de Deus, e a herança, que os tiranos receberão do Todo-Poderoso. This is the portion of a wicked man with God, And the heritage of oppressors, which they receive from the Almighty:
14 Se os seus filhos se multiplicarem, será para a espada, e a sua prole não se fartará de pão. If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword; And his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.
15 Os que ficarem dele na morte serão enterrados, e as suas viúvas não chorarão. Those that remain of him shall be buried in death, And his widows shall make no lamentation.
16 Se amontoar prata como pó, e aparelhar roupas como lodo, Though he heap up silver as the dust, And prepare raiment as the clay;
17 Ele as aparelhará, porém o justo as vestirá, e o inocente repartirá a prata. He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, And the innocent shall divide the silver.
18 E edificará a sua casa como a traça, e como o guarda que faz a cabana. He buildeth his house as the moth, And as a booth which the keeper maketh.
19 Rico se deita, e não será recolhido; abre os seus olhos, e nada terá. He lieth down rich, but he shall not be gathered [to his fathers]; He openeth his eyes, and he is not.
20 Pavores se apoderam dele como águas; de noite o arrebata a tempestade. Terrors overtake him like waters; A tempest stealeth him away in the night.
21 O vento oriental leva-o, e ele se vai, e varre-o com ímpeto do seu lugar. The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth; And it sweepeth him out of his place.
22 E Deus lançará isto sobre ele, e não lhe poupará; irá fugindo da sua mão. For [God] shall hurl at him, and not spare: He would fain flee out of his hand.
23 Cada um baterá palmas contra ele e assobiará tirando-o do seu lugar. Men shall clap their hands at him, And shall hiss him out of his place.
