Salmos 116

Thanks to God for Deliverance

1 I love the Lord because he has heard

my appeal for mercy.  * 116:1 Ps 18:1; 66:19

2 Because he has turned his ear to me,

I will call out to him as long as I live.  * 116:2 Ps 17:6; 40:1

3 The ropes of death were wrapped around me,

and the torments of Sheol overcame me;

I encountered trouble and sorrow.  * 116:3 Ps 18:4–5

4 Then I called on the name of the  Lord:

"Lord, save me! "  * 116:4 Ps 18:6; 118:5

5 The Lord is gracious and righteous;

our God is compassionate.  * 116:5 Ex 34:6; Neh 9:17; Ps 112:4

6 The Lord guards the inexperienced;

I was helpless, and he saved me.  * 116:6 Ps 19:7; 79:8; 142:6

7 Return to your rest, my soul,

for the Lord has been good to you.  * 116:7 Ps 13:6; Jr 6:16

8 For you, Lord, rescued me from death,

my eyes from tears,

my feet from stumbling.  * 116:8 Ps 49:15; 56:13

9 I will walk before the  Lord

in the land of the living.  * 116:9 Ps 27:13

10 I believed, even when I said,

"I am severely oppressed."  * 116:10 2Co 4:13

11 In my alarm I said,

"Everyone is a liar."  * 116:11 Ps 31:22; 62:9; Rm 3:4

12 How can I repay the  Lord

for all the good he has done for me?  * 116:12 2Ch 32:25; 1Th 3:9

13 I will take the cup of salvation

and call on the name of the  Lord.  * 116:13 Ps 16:5; 105:1

14 I will fulfill my vows to the  Lord

in the presence of all his people.  * 116:14 Ps 22:25; 50:14

15 The death of his faithful ones

is valuable in the  Lord’s sight.  * 116:15 Ps 72:14

16 Lord, I am indeed your servant;

I am your servant, the son of your female servant.

You have loosened my bonds.  * 116:16 Jb 12:18; Ps 86:16; 107:14

17 I will offer you a thanksgiving sacrifice

and call on the name of the  Lord.  * 116:17 Lv 7:12; Ps 50:14

18 I will fulfill my vows to the  Lord

in the presence of all his people,  * 116:18 Ps 22:25; 50:14

19 in the courts of the  Lord’s house —

within you, Jerusalem.  * 116:19 Ps 96:8; 102:21
