A Prayer for Mercy

1 Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger;

do not discipline me in your wrath.  * 6:1 Ps 38:1; Jr 10:24

4 Turn, Lord! Rescue me;

save me because of your faithful love.  * 6:4 Ps 31:16; 109:26

5 For there is no remembrance of you in death;

6 I am weary from my groaning;  * 6:6 Ps 69:3; 119:28

with my tears I dampen my bed

they grow old because of all my enemies.

8 Depart from me, all evildoers,

for the Lord has heard the sound of my weeping.  * 6:8 Ps 18:6; 34:6; 40:1

9 The Lord has heard my plea for help;  * 6:9 Ps 28:6

10 All my enemies will be ashamed and shake with terror;
