Salmos 62

Trust in God Alone

1 I am at rest in God alone;

my salvation comes from him.  * 62:1 Ps 33:20; 37:39

2 He alone is my rock and my salvation,  * 62:1–2 Dt 32:15; 2Sm 22:47

my stronghold; I will never be shaken.  * 62:2 Ps 37:24; 55:22

3 How long will you threaten a man?

Will all of you attack  * 62:3 Some Hb mss read you be struck down

as if he were a leaning wall

or a tottering fence?  * 62:3 Is 30:13

4 They only plan to bring him down

from his high position.

They take pleasure in lying;

they bless with their mouths,

but they curse inwardly.  * 62:4 Ps 4:2; 55:21Selah

5 Rest in God alone, my soul,

for my hope comes from him.  * 62:5 Ps 71:5

6 He alone is my rock and my salvation,  * 62:6 Ps 89:26; 95:1

my stronghold; I will not be shaken.  * 62:6 Ps 16:8; 21:7

7 My salvation and glory depend on God, my strong rock.

My refuge is in God.  * 62:7 Ps 18:2

8 Trust in him at all times, you people;

pour out your hearts before him.

God is our refuge.  * 62:8 Ps 91:2; 118:8–9Selah

9 Common people are only a vapor;

important people, an illusion.

Together on a scale,

they weigh less than  * 62:9 Lit they go up more than a vapor.  * 62:9 Ps 39:5–6,11; Ec 1:2; Is 40:17

10 Place no trust in oppression

or false hope in robbery.  * 62:10 Pr 22:16

If wealth increases,

don’t set your heart on it.  * 62:10 Jb 31:24–25; Pr 11:28; Mk 4:19; 1Tm 6:10,17–19

11 God has spoken once;

I have heard this twice:

strength belongs to God,  * 62:11 Jb 40:5

12 and faithful love belongs to you, Lord.

For you repay each according to his works.  * 62:12 Mt 16:27; Rm 2:6; Rv 22:12
