Salmos 65

God’s Care for the Earth

For the choir director. A psalm of David. A song.

1 Praise is rightfully yours,  * 65:1 Or Praise is silence to you, or Praise awaits you

God, in Zion;

vows to you will be fulfilled.  * 65:1 Ps 50:14; 116:18

2 All humanity will come to you,

the one who hears prayer.  * 65:2 Ps 86:9; Is 2:2–4; 66:23

3 Iniquities overwhelm me;

only you can atone for our rebellions.  * 65:3 Ps 38:14; 40:12; 79:9

4 How happy is the one you choose

and bring near to live in your courts!

We will be satisfied with the goodness of your house,  * 65:4 Ps 17:15; Jr 31:14

the holiness of your temple.  * 65:4 Or house, your holy temple,* 65:4 Ps 27:4; 84:4

5 You answer us in righteousness,

with awe-inspiring works,

God of our salvation,

the hope of all the ends of the earth

and of the distant seas.  * 65:5 Dt 10:21; 2Sm 7:23; Ps 46:8

6 You establish the mountains by your power;

you are robed with strength.  * 65:6 Ps 93:1; Am 4:13

7 You silence the roar of the seas,

the roar of their waves,

and the tumult of the nations.  * 65:7 Ps 107:29; Is 17:13; Mt 8:26

8 Those who live far away are awed by your signs;

you make east and west shout for joy.  * 65:8 Ps 2:8; 139:9; Is 24:16

9 You visit the earth and water it abundantly,

enriching it greatly.

God’s stream is filled with water,

for you prepare the earth in this way,

providing people with grain.  * 65:9 Ps 104:13; 147:8; Is 45:8

10 You soften it with showers and bless its growth,

soaking its furrows and leveling its ridges.  * 65:10 Dt 3:22; Ps 72:6; 147:8

11 You crown the year with your goodness;

12 The wilderness pastures overflow,

13 The pastures are clothed with flocks

They shout in triumph; indeed, they sing.  * 65:13 Is 44:23
