1 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Howl ye, Alas for the day! 3 For the day is at hand, yea, the day of Jehovah is at hand, a day of clouds; it shall be the time of the nations. 4 And the sword shall come upon Egypt, and there shall be anguish in Ethiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt, and they shall take away her multitude, and her foundations shall be overthrown. 5 Cush, and Phut, and Lud, and all the mingled people, and Chub, and the children of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword. 6 Thus saith Jehovah: They also that uphold Egypt shall fall; and the pride of her strength shall come down: from Migdol to Syene shall they fall in her by the sword, saith the Lord Jehovah. 7 And they shall be desolated in the midst of the countries that are desolated, and her cities shall be in the midst of the cities that are wasted. 8 And they shall know that I am Jehovah, when I have set a fire in Egypt, and all her helpers shall be broken. 9 In that day shall messengers go forth from me in ships, to make careless Ethiopia afraid; and anguish shall come upon them, as in the day of Egypt: for behold, it cometh! 10 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon. 11 He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, shall be brought to destroy the land; and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with slain. 12 And I will make the rivers dry, and sell the land into the hand of the wicked; and I will make the land desolate, and all that is therein, by the hand of strangers: I Jehovah have spoken it. 13 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause the images to cease out of Noph; and there shall be no more a prince out of the land of Egypt; and I will put fear in the land of Egypt. 14 And I will make Pathros desolate, and will set a fire in Zoan, and will execute judgment in No. 15 And I will pour my fury upon Sin, the stronghold of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No. 16 And I will set a fire in Egypt: Sin shall be in great anguish, and No shall be rent asunder, and at Noph there shall be enemies in open day. 17 The young men of Aven and of Pibeseth shall fall by the sword; and these shall go into captivity. 18 And at Tehaphnehes the day shall be darkened, when I break there the yokes of Egypt, and the pride of her strength shall cease in her; as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity. 19 Thus will I execute judgments in Egypt; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

20 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 21 Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and behold, it shall not be bound up to apply remedies, to put a bandage to bind it, to make it strong to hold the sword. 22 Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong one, and that which was broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand. 23 And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries. 24 And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand; and I will break Pharaoh’s arms, so that he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly-wounded man. 25 And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down; and they shall know that I am Jehovah, when I have put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall have stretched it out upon the land of Egypt. 26 And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them through the countries: and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

1 Cuvântul Domnului mi-a vorbit astfel: 2 „Fiul omului, prorocește și spune: ‘Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Văitați-vă*Is. 13:6.!… Nenorocită zi! 3 Căci se apropie*Cap. 7:7,12.Ioel 2:1.Ţef. 1:7. ziua, se apropie ziua Domnului, zi întunecoasă – aceasta va fi vremea neamurilor. 4 Sabia va pătrunde în Egipt și în Etiopia va fi groază când vor cădea morții în Egipt, când i se vor ridica*Cap. 29:19. bogățiile și i se vor răsturna*Ier. 50:15. temeliile. 5 Etiopia, Put, Lud, toată*Ier. 52:20,24. Arabia, Cub și fiii țării unite cu ele vor cădea împreună cu ei loviți de sabie.» 6 Așa vorbește Domnul: «Sprijinitorii Egiptului vor cădea și mândria tăriei lui se va prăbuși! Din Migdol*Cap. 29:10. până la Siene vor cădea loviți de sabie», zice Domnul Dumnezeu. 7 «Vor*Cap. 29:12. fi pustiiți între alte țări pustiite și cetățile lui vor fi nimicite în mijlocul altor cetăți nimicite. 8 Și vor ști că Eu sunt Domnul când voi pune foc în Egipt și când toți sprijinitorii lui vor fi zdrobiți. 9 În ziua aceea, niște soli*Is. 18:1,2. se vor duce din partea mea cu corăbiile să tulbure Etiopia în liniștea ei și-i va apuca spaimă mare în ziua Egiptului, căci iată că lucrurile acestea se întâmplă!» 10 Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Voi pierde*Cap. 29:19. mulțimea Egiptului prin mâna lui Nebucadnețar, împăratul Babilonului. 11 El și poporul lui cu el, cel mai grozav*Cap. 28:7. dintre popoare, vor fi trimiși să nimicească țara. Vor scoate sabia împotriva Egiptului și vor umple țara de morți. 12 Canalele le voi*Is. 19:5,6. seca, voi da țara*Is. 19:4. în mâinile celor răi; voi pustii țara cu tot ce cuprinde ea prin mâna străinilor. Eu, Domnul, am vorbit!» 13 Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Voi nimici*Is. 19:1.Ier. 43:12;46:25.Zah. 13:2. idolii și voi stârpi din Nof chipurile deșarte. Nu*Zah. 10:11. va mai fi niciun voievod din țara Egiptului și voi răspândi*Is. 19:16. groaza în țara Egiptului. 14 Voi pustii Patrosul*Cap. 29:14., voi pune foc Țoanului*Ps. 78:12,43. și-Mi voi aduce la îndeplinire*Naum 3:8-10. judecățile asupra Noului. 15 Îmi voi vărsa urgia asupra Sinului, cetățuia Egiptului, și voi nimici*Ier. 46:25. cu desăvârșire mulțimea din No. 16 Voi pune foc*Vers. 8. Egiptului; Sinul va fi cuprins de spaimă; Noul va fi deschis prin spărtură și Noful, cucerit ziua-n amiaza mare de vrăjmași. 17 Tinerii din On și din Pi-Beset vor cădea uciși de sabie și cetățile acestea se vor duce în robie. 18 La Tahpanes*Ier. 2:16. se va întuneca ziua când voi sfărâma jugul Egiptului și când se va sfârși mândria tăriei lui; un nor va acoperi Tahpanesul și cetățile lui vor merge în robie. 19 Îmi voi aduce astfel la îndeplinire judecățile asupra Egiptului și vor ști că Eu sunt Domnul.»’" 20 În anul al unsprezecelea, în ziua a șaptea a lunii întâi, cuvântul Domnului mi-a vorbit astfel: 21 „Fiul omului, am*Ier. 48:25. frânt brațul lui Faraon, împăratul Egiptului, și iată că nu-i vor lega*Ier. 46:11. rana ca să se vindece, nu-l vor obloji cu legături, nu-l vor lega ca să se întremeze și să poată mânui sabia. 22 De aceea așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: ‘Iată, am necaz pe Faraon, împăratul Egiptului, și-i voi rupe*Ps. 37:17. brațele, pe cel tare și pe cel frânt, ca să-i cadă sabia din mână. 23 Iar pe egipteni îi voi*Vers. 26. Cap. 29:12. împrăștia printre neamuri și-i voi risipi în felurite țări. 24 În schimb, voi întări brațele împăratului Babilonului și-i voi pune o sabie în mână, iar brațele lui Faraon le voi frânge, ca să geamă înaintea lui cum gem cei răniți de moarte. 25 Dar voi întări brațele împăratului Babilonului, iar brațele lui Faraon vor cădea. Și vor ști*Ps. 9:16. că Eu sunt Domnul când voi pune sabia Mea în mâna împăratului Babilonului și când o va întoarce împotriva țării Egiptului. 26 Voi împrăștia*Vers. 23. Cap. 29:12. pe egipteni printre neamuri, îi voi risipi în felurite țări și vor ști că Eu sunt Domnul.’"
