1 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 2 And thou, son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? Yea, cause her to know all her abominations, 3 and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: A city that sheddeth blood in her midst, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself. 4 Thou art become guilty by thy blood which thou hast shed, and hast defiled thyself with thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the nations, and a mocking unto all countries. 5 Those that are near, and those that are far from thee, shall mock thee, who art infamous and full of tumult. 6 Behold, the princes of Israel have been in thee to shed blood, each according to his power. 7 In thee have they made light of father and mother; in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger; in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow. 8 Thou hast despised my holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths. 9 In thee there have been slanderous men to shed blood; and in thee have they eaten upon the mountains; in the midst of thee they have committed lewdness; 10 in thee have they discovered their fathers' nakedness; in thee have they humbled her that was unclean in her separation. 11 And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour’s wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father’s daughter. 12 In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast overreached thy neighbours by oppression, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord Jehovah. 13 And behold, I have smitten mine hand at thine overreaching which thou hast done, and at thy bloodshed which hath been in the midst of thee. 14 Shall thy heart endure, shall thy hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I Jehovah have spoken, and will do it. 15 And I will scatter thee among the nations, and disperse thee through the countries, and will consume thy filthiness out of thee. 16 And thou shalt be polluted through thyself in the sight of the nations, and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah.

17 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 18 Son of man, the house of Israel is become dross to me: they are all copper, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace: they are become the dross of silver. 19 Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye are all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. 20 As they gather silver, and copper, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it, so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will lay you on and melt you. 21 Yea, I will collect you, and blow upon you the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof. 22 As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I Jehovah have poured out my fury upon you.

23 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 24 Son of man, say unto her, Thou art a land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation. 25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst of her like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they devour souls; they take away treasure and precious things; they increase her widows in the midst of her; 26 her priests do violence to my law, and profane my holy things: they put no difference between the holy and profane, neither do they make known the difference between the unclean and the clean, and they hide their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. 27 Her princes in the midst of her are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain. 28 And her prophets have daubed for them with untempered mortar, seeing vanity and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah! and Jehovah hath not spoken. 29 The people of the land use oppression and practise robbery; and they vex the poor and needy, and oppress the stranger wrongfully. 30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the fence, and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none. 31 And I will pour out mine indignation upon them; I will consume them in the fire of my wrath: their own way will I recompense upon their head, saith the Lord Jehovah.

1 Cuvântul Domnului mi-a vorbit astfel: 2 „Și tu, fiul omului, vrei*Cap. 20:4;23:36. să judeci? Vrei să judeci cetatea setoasă*Cap. 24:6,9.Naum 3:1. de sânge? Pune-i înainte toate urâciunile ei! 3 Spune: ‘Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Cetate care verși sânge în mijlocul tău, ca să-ți vină ziua, și care-ți faci idoli ca să te spurci! 4 Te-ai făcut vinovată din pricina sângelui pe care l-ai vărsat*2 Împ. 21:16. și te-ai spurcat prin idolii pe care i-ai făcut. Ți-ai apropiat astfel zilele și ai ajuns la capătul anilor tăi! De aceea*Deut. 28:37.1 Împ. 9:7. Cap. 5:14.Dan. 9:16. te fac de ocară printre neamuri și de batjocură printre toate țările. 5 Cei de aproape și cei de departe își vor bate joc de tine, căci ești vestită ca spurcată și plină de tulburări! 6 Iată că, în tine, toți voievozii*Is. 1:23.Mica 3:1-3.Ţef. 3:3. lui Israel își întrebuințează puterea ca să verse sânge. 7 În tine, tatăl și mama sunt*Deut. 27:16. disprețuiți, străinul*Exod 22:21,22. este chinuit, orfanul și văduva sunt asupriți. 8 Tu Îmi nesocotești*Vers. 26. locașurile Mele cele sfinte, Îmi spurci*Lev. 19:30. Cap. 23:38. Sabatele. 9 În tine sunt bârfitori*Exod 23:1.Lev. 19:16., ca să verse sânge; în tine*Cap. 18:6,11. se mănâncă jertfe idolești pe munți; în mijlocul tău se fac desfrânări. 10 În mijlocul tău se descoperă*Lev. 18:7,8;20:11.1 Cor. 5:1. goliciunea tatălui; în mijlocul tău este silită femeia în timpul*Lev. 18:19;20:18. Cap. 18:6. necurăției ei! 11 În mijlocul tău fiecare se dedă la urâciuni cu nevasta aproapelui său, fiecare se spurcă prin amestecare de sânge*Lev. 18:20;20:10.Deut. 22:22.Ier. 5:8. Cap. 18:11. cu noră-sa, fiecare necinstește*Lev. 18:15;20:12;18:9;20:17. pe soră-sa, fiica tatălui său. 12 În tine se iau*Exod 23:8.Deut. 16:19;27:25. daruri pentru vărsare de sânge. Tu iei dobândă*Exod 22:25.Lev. 25:36.Deut. 23:19. Cap. 18:13. și camătă, jefuiești cu sila pe aproapele tău și pe Mine Mă*Deut. 32:18.Ier. 3:21. Cap. 23:35. uiți», zice Domnul Dumnezeu. 13 «De aceea, iată că bat din mâini*Cap. 21:17. din pricina lăcomiei pe care ai avut-o și din pricina sângelui vărsat în mijlocul tău. 14 Îți va suferi inima*Cap. 21:7. și îți vor fi mâinile destul de tari în zilele când voi lucra împotriva ta? Eu, Domnul*Cap. 17:24., am vorbit și voi și lucra. 15 Te voi risipi*Deut. 4:27;28:25,64. Cap. 12:14,15. printre neamuri, te voi răspândi în felurite țări și îți voi nimici*Cap. 23:27,48. cu desăvârșire necurăția din mijlocul tău. 16 Vei fi spurcată astfel de tine însăți înaintea neamurilor și vei ști*Ps. 9:16. Cap. 6:7. că Eu sunt Domnul.»’" 17 Cuvântul Domnului mi-a vorbit astfel: 18 „Fiul omului, casa lui Israel a ajuns*Is. 1:22.Ier. 6:28.Ps. 119:119. pentru Mine ca niște zgură; toți sunt aramă, cositor, fier, plumb în cuptorul de topit; au ajuns niște zgură de argint. 19 De aceea, așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: ‘Pentru că toți ați ajuns niște zgură, iată că vă voi strânge în mijlocul Ierusalimului. 20 Cum se strâng argintul, arama, fierul, plumbul și cositorul în cuptorul de topit și se suflă în foc ca să se topească, așa vă voi strânge și Eu în mânia și urgia Mea; vă voi pune acolo și vă voi topi. 21 Da, vă voi strânge și voi sufla*Cap. 21:31. peste voi cu focul mâniei Mele și vă veți topi în el. 22 Cum se topește argintul în topitoare, așa veți fi topiți voi în mijlocul lui. Și veți ști că Eu, Domnul, Mi-am vărsat*Cap. 20:8,33. Vers. 31. mânia peste voi.’" 23 Cuvântul Domnului mi-a vorbit astfel: 24 „Fiul omului, spune Ierusalimului: ‘Ești o țară necurățită și neudată de ploaie în ziua mâniei.’ 25 Mai-marii lui uneltesc*Osea 6:9. în mijlocul lui ca să înghită*Mat. 23:14. sufletele, ca un leu care răcnește și își sfâșie prada; pun mâna*Mica 3:11.Ţef. 3:3,4. pe bogății și lucruri scumpe și măresc numărul văduvelor în mijlocul lui. 26 Preoții*Mal. 2:8. lui calcă Legea Mea și Îmi pângăresc*Lev. 22:2.1 Sam. 2:29. lucrurile Mele sfinte, nu fac nicio deosebire*Lev. 10:10.Ier. 15:19. Cap. 44:23. între ce este sfânt și ce nu este sfânt, nici nu învață pe oameni să facă deosebire între ce este necurat și ce este curat, își întorc ochii de la Sabatele Mele și sunt pângărit în mijlocul lor. 27 Căpeteniile*Is. 1:23. Vers. 6.Mica 3:2,3,9-11.Ţef. 3:3. lui sunt în mijlocul lui ca niște lupi care își sfâșie prada; varsă sânge, pierd sufletele numai ca să-și potolească lăcomia de bani. 28 Prorocii*Cap. 13:10. lui au pentru ei tencuieli de ipsos, vedenii*Cap. 13:6,7;21:29. înșelătoare, prorocii mincinoase. Ei zic: ‘Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu!’ Și Domnul nu le-a vorbit! 29 Poporul*Ier. 5:26-28. Cap. 18:12. din țară se dedă la silnicie, fură, asuprește*Exod 22:21;23:9.Lev. 19:33. Vers. 7. pe cel nenorocit și pe cel lipsit, calcă în picioare pe străin împotriva oricărei dreptăți! 30 Caut*Ier. 5:1. printre ei un om care să înalțe*Cap. 13:5. un zid și să stea în mijlocul spărturii*Ps. 106:23. înaintea Mea pentru țară, ca să n-o nimicesc, dar nu găsesc niciunul! 31 Îmi voi vărsa urgia*Vers. 22. peste ei, îi voi nimici cu focul mâniei Mele și le voi întoarce faptele*Cap. 9:10;11:21;16:43. asupra capului lor", zice Domnul Dumnezeu.
