1 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyre, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thy heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a god*godHebrew: el I sit in the seat of God*GodHebrew: Elohim in the heart of the seas, (and thou art a man, and not ·God*GodHebrew: El) and thou settest thy heart as the heart of God*GodHebrew: Elohim3 behold, thou art wiser than Daniel! nothing secret is obscure for thee; 4 by thy wisdom and by thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures; 5 by thy great wisdom thou hast by thy traffic increased thy riches, and thy heart is lifted up because of thy riches. 6 Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thou hast set thy heart as the heart of God*GodHebrew: Elohim7 therefore behold, I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations; and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall tarnish thy brightness. 8 They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of those that are slain in the heart of the seas. 9 Wilt thou then say before him that slayeth thee, I am God*GodHebrew: Elohim but thou shalt be a man, and not ·God*GodHebrew: El in the hand of him that pierceth thee. 10 Thou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised, by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord Jehovah.

11 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyre, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou, who sealest up the measure of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty, 13 thou wast in Eden, the garden of God*GodHebrew: Elohim Every precious stone was thy covering: the sardius, the topaz, and the diamond, the chrysolite, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the carbuncle, and the emerald, and gold. The workmanship of thy tambours and of thy pipes was in thee: in the day that thou wast created were they prepared. 14 Thou wast the anointed covering cherub, and I had set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God*GodHebrew: Elohim thou didst walk up and down in the midst of stones of fire. 15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways, from the day that thou wast created, till unrighteousness was found in thee. 16 By the abundance of thy traffic they filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned; therefore have I cast thee as profane from the mountain of God*GodHebrew: Elohim and have destroyed thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. 17 Thy heart was lifted up because of thy beauty; thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I have cast thee to the ground, I have laid thee before kings, that they may behold thee. 18 By the multitude of thine iniquities, by the unrighteousness of thy traffic, thou hast profaned thy sanctuaries: and I have brought forth a fire out of the midst of thee — it hath consumed thee; and I have brought thee to ashes upon the earth, in the sight of all them that behold thee. 19 All they that know thee among the peoples shall be amazed at thee: thou art become a terror, and thou shalt never be any more.

20 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 21 Son of man, set thy face towards Zidon, and prophesy against it, 22 and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, Zidon, and I will be glorified in the midst of thee; and they shall know that I am Jehovah, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be hallowed in her. 23 And I will send into her the pestilence, and blood in her streets; and the wounded shall fall in the midst of her, by the sword upon her on every side: and they shall know that I am Jehovah. 24 And there shall be no more a wounding sting for the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn, among all that were round about them, that despised them: and they shall know that I am the Lord Jehovah. 25 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and shall be hallowed in them in the sight of the nations, then shall they dwell in their land which I have given to my servant Jacob. 26 They shall dwell in it in safety, and shall build houses and plant vineyards; and they shall dwell in safety, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despised them round about them: and they shall know that I amJehovah their God*GodHebrew: Elohim.

1 Cuvântul Domnului mi-a vorbit astfel: 2 „Fiul omului, spune voievodului Tirului: ‘Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Pentru că ți s-a îngâmfat inima și ai zis*Vers. 9.: ‹Eu sunt Dumnezeu și șed pe scaunul de domnie al lui Dumnezeu, în mijlocul*Cap. 27:3,4. mărilor›, măcar că nu ești decât om*Is. 31:3. și nu ești Dumnezeu, măcar că îți dai ifose ca și când ai fi Dumnezeu. 3 Iată că ești mai înțelept*Zah. 9:2. decât Daniel, nicio taină nu este ascunsă de tine; 4 prin înțelepciunea și priceperea ta ți-ai făcut avere și ți-ai grămădit aur și argint în vistieriile tale; 5 prin marea ta înțelepciune*Ps. 62:10.Zah. 9:3. și prin negoțul tău ți-ai mărit bogățiile și, prin bogățiile tale, inima ți s-a îngâmfat foarte mult.» 6 De aceea, așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Pentru că îți dai ifose ca și când ai fi Dumnezeu, 7 iată că voi aduce împotriva ta niște străini, pe cele mai*Cap. 30:11;31:12;32:12. asupritoare dintre popoare, care vor scoate sabia împotriva înțelepciunii tale strălucitoare și-ți vor pângări frumusețea. 8 Te vor arunca în groapă și vei muri ca cei ce cad străpunși de lovituri în mijlocul mărilor. 9 Vei mai*Vers. 2. zice tu atunci în fața ucigașului tău: ‹Sunt Dumnezeu›, măcar că ești om, și nu Dumnezeu, sub mâna celui ce te va ucide? 10 Vei muri de moartea celor netăiați împrejur*Cap. 31:18;32:19,21,25,27., de mâna străinilor! Căci Eu am vorbit», zice Domnul Dumnezeu.’" 11 Cuvântul Domnului mi-a vorbit astfel: 12 „Fiul omului, fă un cântec de jale*Cap. 27:2. asupra împăratului Tirului și spune-i: ‘Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Ajunseseși la cea mai înaltă desăvârșire, erai plin de înțelepciune*Cap. 27:3. Vers. 3. și desăvârșit în frumusețe. 13 Stăteai în Eden*Cap. 31:8,9., grădina lui Dumnezeu, și erai acoperit cu tot felul de pietre scumpe: cu sardonix, cu topaz, cu diamant, cu crisolit, cu onix, cu iaspis, cu safir, cu rubin, cu smarald și cu aur; timpanele*Cap. 26:13. și flautele erau în slujba ta, pregătite pentru ziua când ai fost făcut. 14 Erai un heruvim*Exod 25:20. Vers. 16. ocrotitor, cu aripile întinse; te pusesem pe muntele*Cap. 20:40. cel sfânt al lui Dumnezeu și umblai prin mijlocul pietrelor scânteietoare. 15 Ai fost fără prihană în căile tale, din ziua când ai fost făcut până în ziua când s-a găsit nelegiuirea în tine. 16 Prin mărimea negoțului tău te-ai umplut de silnicie și ai păcătuit; de aceea te-am aruncat de pe muntele lui Dumnezeu și te nimicesc, heruvim ocrotitor*Vers. 14., din mijlocul pietrelor scânteietoare. 17 Ți s-a îngâmfat*Vers. 2,5. inima din pricina frumuseții tale, ți-ai stricat înțelepciunea cu strălucirea ta. De aceea, te arunc la pământ, te dau priveliște împăraților. 18 Prin mulțimea nelegiuirilor tale, prin nedreptatea negoțului tău, ți-ai spurcat locașurile sfinte, de aceea scot din mijlocul tău un foc care te mistuie și te prefac în cenușă pe pământ, înaintea tuturor celor ce te privesc. 19 Toți cei ce te cunosc între popoare rămân uimiți din pricina ta; ești nimicit*Cap. 26:21;27:36. și nu vei mai fi niciodată!»’" 20 Cuvântul Domnului mi-a vorbit astfel: 21 „Fiul omului, întoarce-ți*Cap. 6:2;25:2;29:2. fața spre Sidon*Is. 23:4,12.Ier. 25:22;27:3. Cap. 32:30. și prorocește împotriva lui! 22 Spune: ‘Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Iată*Exod 14:4,17. Cap. 39:13. că am necaz pe tine, Sidonule, și voi fi proslăvit în mijlocul tău, ca să se știe*Ps. 9:16. că Eu sunt Domnul când Îmi voi împlini judecățile împotriva lui și când Îmi voi arăta sfințenia*Cap. 20:41;36:23. Vers. 25. în mijlocul lui. 23 Voi trimite ciuma*Cap. 38:22. în el, voi face să curgă sângele pe ulițele lui; vor cădea morții în mijlocul lui, uciși de sabia care va veni din toate părțile să-i lovească, și vor ști astfel că Eu sunt Domnul. 24 Atunci, el nu va mai fi pentru casa lui Israel un spin*Num. 33:55.Ios. 23:13. care înțeapă, un mărăcine aducător de dureri printre toți cei ce-l înconjoară și-l disprețuiesc. Și vor ști astfel că Eu sunt Domnul Dumnezeu.» 25 Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Când voi strânge*Is. 11:12. Cap. 11:17; 20:41;34:13;37:21. iarăși casa lui Israel din mijlocul popoarelor la care este risipită, Îmi voi arăta în ea sfințenia*Vers. 22. înaintea neamurilor și vor locui în țara lor pe care am dat-o robului meu Iacov. 26 Vor locui*Ier. 23:6. Cap. 36:28. liniștiți în ea, vor zidi case*Is. 65:21.Amos 9:14. și vor sădi*Ier. 31:5. vii; da, vor locui liniștiți în ea când Îmi voi împlini judecățile împotriva tuturor celor ce-i înconjoară și-i disprețuiesc. Și vor ști că Eu sunt Domnul Dumnezeul lor.»’"
