1 And the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of Jehovah’s house, which looketh eastward; and behold, at the door of the gate were five and twenty men; and I saw in the midst of them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. 2 And he said unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise iniquity, and give wicked counsel in this city: 3 who say, It is not the time to build houses: this is the cauldron, and we are the flesh. 4 Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, son of man. 5 And the Spirit of Jehovah fell on me, and said unto me, Speak, Thus saith Jehovah: Thus have ye said, O house of Israel; and the things that come into your mind, I know them. 6 Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain. 7 Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and it is the cauldron; but you will I bring forth out of the midst of it. 8 Ye have feared the sword, and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord Jehovah. 9 And I will bring you out of the midst of it, and give you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you. 10 Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the borders of Israel; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah. 11 This shall not be your cauldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst of it: I will judge you in the borders of Israel; 12 and ye shall know that I am Jehovah, in whose statutes ye have not walked, neither have done mine ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you. 13 And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. And I fell down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah, Lord Jehovah! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?

14 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 15 Son of man, it is thy brethren, thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel, the whole of it, unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem say, Get you far from Jehovah: unto us is this land given for a possession. 16 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Although I have removed them far off among the nations, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries whither they are come. 17 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will even gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where ye are scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. 18 And they shall come thither, and they shall take away from thence all its detestable things and all its abominations. 19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh; 20 that they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God*GodHebrew: Elohim21 But as for them whose heart walketh well-pleased with their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their heads, saith the Lord Jehovah.

22 And the cherubim lifted up their wings, and the wheels were beside them; and the glory of the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Israel was over them above. 23 And the glory of Jehovah went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city. 24 And the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God*GodHebrew: Elohim into Chaldea, to them of the captivity; and the vision that I had seen went up from me. 25 And I spoke unto them of the captivity all the things that Jehovah had shewn me.

Cetatea*Ier. 1:13. Cap. 24:3. este cazanul și noi suntem carnea.’ 4 De aceea prorocește împotriva lor, prorocește, fiul omului!" 5 Atunci, Duhul Domnului*Cap. 2:2;3:24. a căzut peste mine și mi-a zis: „Spune: ‘Așa vorbește Domnul: «Astfel vorbiți voi, casa lui Israel! Și ce vă vine în gând, știu foarte bine! 6 Ați făcut o mulțime*Cap. 7:23;22:3,4. de omoruri în cetatea aceasta și ați umplut ulițele cu cei uciși.» 7 De aceea, așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Morții voștri*Cap. 24:3,6,10,11.Mica 3:3. pe care i-ați întins în mijlocul cetății acesteia sunt carnea și ea este cazanul, dar voi*Vers. 9. veți fi scoși afară din ea. 8 Vă temeți de sabie, dar Eu voi aduce sabie peste voi», zice Domnul Dumnezeu. 9 «Vă voi scoate din cetatea aceasta, vă voi da în mâinile străinilor și voi împlini*Cap. 5:8. judecățile mele împotriva voastră! 10 Veți cădea*2 Împ. 25:19-21.Ier. 39:6;52:10. loviți de sabie, vă voi judeca*1 Împ. 8:65.2 Împ. 14:25. la hotarul lui Israel și veți ști*Ps. 9:16. Cap. 6:7; 13:9,14,21,23. că Eu sunt Domnul. 11 Cetatea aceasta*Vers. 3. nu va fi cazanul vostru și voi nu veți fi carnea din el, ci la hotarul lui Israel vă voi judeca! 12 Și veți ști*Vers. 10. că Eu sunt Domnul, ale cărui porunci nu le-ați urmat și ale cărui legi nu le-ați împlinit și ați*Lev. 18:3,24.Deut. 12:30,31. Cap. 8:10,14,16. lucrat după obiceiurile neamurilor care vă înconjoară.»’" 13 Pe când proroceam eu, a murit Pelatia*Vers. 1.Fapte 5:5., fiul lui Benaia. Eu am*Cap. 9:8. căzut cu fața la pământ și am strigat cu glas tare: „Ah, Doamne Dumnezeule, vrei să nimicești Tu și ce a mai rămas din Israel?" 14 Și cuvântul Domnului mi-a vorbit astfel: 15 „Fiul omului, frații tăi, da, frații tăi cei din robie și toată casa lui Israel sunt aceia despre care zic locuitorii Ierusalimului: ‘Ei sunt departe de Domnul, țara ne-a fost dată nouă în stăpânire!…’ 16 De aceea spune despre ei: ‘Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Dacă-i țin depărtați printre neamuri, dacă i-am risipit în felurite țări, totuși le-am fost*Ps. 90:1;91:9.Is. 8:14. un Templu pentru câtăva vreme, în țara în care au venit.»’ 17 De aceea să le spui: ‘Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Vă voi strânge*Ier. 24:5. Cap. 28:25;34:13;36:24. din mijlocul popoarelor, vă voi aduna iarăși din țările în care sunteți risipiți și vă voi da țara lui Israel.»’ 18 Și, când vor veni în ea, vor scoate*Cap. 37:23. de acolo toți idolii și toate urâciunile. 19 Le voi*Ier. 32:39. Cap. 36:26,27.Ţef. 3:9. da o altă inimă și voi pune un duh nou*Ps. 51:10.Ier. 31:33;32:39. Cap. 18:31. în voi. Voi lua din trupul lor inima*Zah. 7:12. de piatră și le voi da o inimă de carne, 20 ca să urmeze*Ps. 105:45. poruncile Mele, să păzească și să împlinească legile Mele, și ei vor fi poporul*Ier. 24:7. Cap. 14:11;36:28; 37:27. Meu, iar Eu voi fi Dumnezeul lor. 21 Dar acelora a căror inimă simte plăcere față de idolii și urâciunile lor, le voi*Cap. 9:10;22:31. întoarce faptele asupra capului lor", zice Domnul Dumnezeu. 22 După aceea, heruvimii și-au întins*Cap. 1:19;10:19. aripile, însoțiți de roți, și slava Dumnezeului lui Israel era sus, deasupra lor. 23 Slava*Cap. 8:4;9:3;10:4,18;43:4. Domnului s-a înălțat din mijlocul cetății și s-a așezat pe muntele*Zah. 14:4. de la răsăritul*Cap. 43:2. cetății. 24 Pe mine însă m-a răpit*Cap. 8:3. Duhul și m-a dus iarăși în vedenie, prin Duhul lui Dumnezeu, în Haldeea, la prinșii de război. Și astfel vedenia pe care o avusesem a pierit de la mine. 25 Apoi am spus prinșilor de război toate lucrurile pe care mi le descoperise Domnul.
