1 Quem é este que vem de Edom,

da cidade de Bozra,

com as roupas manchadas de vermelho?

Quem é este vestido de trajes reais,

que marcha em sua grande força?

"Sou eu, o Senhor, anunciando sua justiça!

Sou eu, o Senhor, poderoso para salvar!"

2 Por que suas roupas estão vermelhas,

como se você tivesse pisado uvas?

3 "Pisei uvas sozinho no tanque de prensar;

não havia ninguém para me ajudar.

Em minha ira, esmaguei meus inimigos

como se fossem uvas.

Em minha fúria, pisoteei meus adversários;

seu sangue manchou minhas roupas.

4 Chegou a hora de vingar meu povo,

de resgatá-los de seus opressores.

5 Admirei-me porque ninguém se apresentou

para ajudar os oprimidos.

Então eu mesmo intervim para salvá-los com meu braço forte,

e minha fúria me susteve.

6 Em minha ira, esmaguei as nações;

eu as fiz cambalear e cair

e derramei seu sangue na terra."

7 Falarei do amor do Senhor,

louvarei o Senhor por tudo que tem feito.

Eu me alegrarei em sua grande bondade por Israel,

que ele concedeu

conforme sua misericórdia e seu imenso amor.

8 Ele disse: "São meu próprio povo;

certamente não me trairão outra vez";

por isso ele se tornou seu Salvador.

9 Em todo o sofrimento deles, ele também sofreu

e ele mesmo os salvou.*63.9 Em hebraico, e o anjo de sua presença os salvou.

Em seu amor e misericórdia, ele os resgatou;

levantou-os e nos braços os carregou

ao longo dos anos.

10 Mas eles se rebelaram

e entristeceram seu Espírito Santo.

Por isso ele se tornou seu inimigo

e lutou contra eles.

11 Então eles se lembraram dos dias passados,

quando Moisés tirou o povo do Egito.

Clamaram: "Onde está aquele que conduziu Israel através do mar,

com Moisés como pastor?

Onde está aquele que enviou seu Espírito Santo

para estar no meio de seu povo?

12 Onde está aquele que manifestou seu poder

quando Moisés levantou a mão,

que dividiu o mar diante deles

e assim tornou seu nome conhecido para sempre?

13 Onde está aquele que os conduziu pelo fundo do mar?

Eram como magníficos cavalos selvagens,

correndo pelo deserto sem tropeçar.

14 Como o gado que desce para um vale tranquilo,

o Espírito do Senhor lhes deu descanso.

Sim, tu conduziste teu povo

e tornaste teu nome glorioso".

15 Ó Senhor, olha dos céus!

Olha para nós de tua santa e gloriosa habitação!

Onde estão o zelo e o poder

que costumavas mostrar em nosso favor?

Onde estão tua misericórdia e compaixão?

16 Certamente ainda és nosso Pai!

continuarias, Senhor, a ser nosso Pai;

és nosso Redentor desde as eras passadas.

17 Por que permitiste, Senhor, que nos desviássemos de teus caminhos?

Por que nos endureceste o coração, para que deixássemos de te temer?

Volta, pois somos teus servos,

as tribos que são tua propriedade.

18 Por pouco tempo teu povo santo possuiu teu lugar santo;

agora nossos inimigos o destruíram.

19 Parece que nunca pertencemos a ti;

é como se nunca tivéssemos sido teu povo.

7 I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses. 8 For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour. 9 In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.

10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them. 11 Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit within him?*63.11 shepherd: or, shepherds 12 That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name? 13 That led them through the deep, as an horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble? 14 As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.
