1 Feliz é aquele cuja transgressão é perdoada, cujo pecado é coberto.2 Feliz é o homem a quem Jeová não atribui iniqüidade, E em cujo espírito não há dolo.3 Quando guardei silêncio, envelheceram os meus ossos Pelo meu bramido durante o dia todo.4 Porque de dia e de noite sobre mim pesava a tua mão; O meu humor converteu-se em sequidão de estio. (Selá)5 Eu te confessei o meu pecado, e a minha iniqüidade não a ocultei. Disse eu: Confessarei a Jeová a minha transgressão, E tu perdoaste a iniqüidade do meu pecado. (Selá)6 Portanto todo o que é pio, te suplicará a tempo de poder encontrar-te: Na verdade quando transbordarem grandes águas, a ele não se chegarão.7 Tu és para mim um lugar oculto; preservar-me-ás da tribulação; De alegres cantos de livramento me cercarás.8 Instruir-te-ei e ensinar-te-ei o caminho em que hás de andar; Aconselhar-te-ei, tendo-te debaixo da minha vista.9 Não sejais como o cavalo, ou como a mula, que não têm entendimento, Os quais carecem de arreios, freios e cabrestos, que os sujeitem; De outra forma não te obedecerão.10 Muitos pesares terá de curtir o iníquo; Mas aquele que confia em Jeová, a benignidade o cercará.11 Alegrai-vos em Jeová, e regozijai-vos, ó justos; Cantai de júbilo, vós todos que sois retos de coração.
