1 Οι γιοι του Ισσάχαρ ήταν τέσσερις, οι Τωλά, Φουά, Ιασούβ και Σιμρών. 2 Γιοι του Τωλά ήταν οι Ουζί, Ρεφαΐας, Ιεριήλ, Ιαχμαΐ, Ιεβσάμ και Σεμουήλ –αρχηγοί των οικογενειών που είχαν πρόγονο τον Τωλά και αξιόλογοι πολεμιστές. Την εποχή του Δαβίδ η συγγένεια του Τωλά απαριθμούσε είκοσι δύο χιλιάδες εξακόσιους άντρες.

3 Γιος του Ουζί ήταν ο Ιζραχίας. Αυτός και οι γιοι του Μιχαήλ, Οβαδία, Ιωήλ και Ισίας ήταν οι πέντε αρχηγοί αντίστοιχων οικογενειών. 4 Οι οικογένειές τους είχαν τόσο πολλές γυναίκες και παιδιά, ώστε μπορούσαν άνετα να διαθέσουν τριάντα έξι χιλιάδες ετοιμοπόλεμους άντρες. 5 Όλες μαζί οι οικογένειες της φυλής Ισσάχαρ, σύμφωνα με τους γενεαλογικούς καταλόγους, απαριθμούσαν ογδόντα εφτά χιλιάδες ετοιμοπόλεμους άντρες.

6 Οι γιοι του Βενιαμίν ήταν τρεις: οι Βελά, Βεχέρ και Ιεδιαήλ.

7 Οι γιοι του Βελά ήταν πέντε: οι Εσβών, Ουζί, Ουζζιήλ, Ιεριμώθ και Ιρί –αρχηγοί αντίστοιχων οικογενειών και αξιόλογοι πολεμιστές. Σύμφωνα με τους γενεαλογικούς καταλόγους, οι οικογένειές τους απαριθμούσαν είκοσι δύο χιλιάδες τριάντα τέσσερις ετοιμοπόλεμους άντρες.

8 Γιοι του Βεχέρ ήταν οι Ζεμιρά, Ιωάς, Ελιέζερ, Ελιωεναΐ, Αμρί, Ιερεμώθ, Αβιά, Αναθώθ και Αλαμώθ 9 –αρχηγοί αντίστοιχων οικογενειών και αξιόλογοι πολεμιστές. Σύμφωνα με τους γενεαλογικούς καταλόγους, οι οικογένειές τους αριθμούσαν είκοσι χιλιάδες διακόσιους ετοιμοπόλεμους άντρες.

10 Γιος του Ιεδιαήλ ήταν ο Βιλάν, και γιοι του Βιλάν οι Ιεούς, Βενιαμίν, Εούδ, Χεναανά, Ζεθάν, Θαρσίς και Αχισαχάρ 11 –αρχηγοί αντίστοιχων οικογενειών και αξιόλογοι πολεμιστές. Οι οικογένειές τους απαριθμούσαν δέκα εφτά χιλιάδες διακόσιους ετοιμοπόλεμους άντρες.

12 Ο Σουππίμ, ο Χουππίμ οι γιοι του Ιρ, ο Χουσίμ, ο γιος του Αχέρ.*Μερικοί ερμηνευτές διαβλέπουν εδώ μια ένδειξη του χαμένου γενεαλογικού καταλόγου της φυλής Δαν.

13 Γιοι του Νεφθαλί ήταν οι Ιαχασιήλ, Γουνί, Ιεσέρ και Σαλλούμ –όλοι απόγονοι της Βαλλά.*Βαλλά. Δούλη της Ραχήλ και μάνα του Νεφθαλί (Γεν 30:4-8).

14 Γιοι του Μανασσή, που γεννήθηκαν από τη Σύρια παλλακίδα του, ήταν ο Ασριήλ και ο Μαχίρ, πατέρας του Γαλαάδ. 15 Ο Μαχίρ παντρεύτηκε τη Μααχά, αδερφή του Ουπίμ και του Σουφίμ. Ο δεύτερος γιος του λεγόταν Σελοφεχάδ·*Δεν είναι σαφές τίνος ήταν ο δεύτερος γιος. Κατά το Ιησ 17:3 αυτός είναι δισέγγονος του Μαχίρ. αυτός είχε μόνο κόρες.

16 Η Μααχά, γυναίκα του Μαχίρ, γέννησε γιο και τον ονόμασε Φαρές. Ο αδερφός του λεγόταν Σαρές και οι γιοι του Ουλάμ και Ρακέμ. 17 Γιος του Ουλάμ ήταν ο Βεδάν. Αυτοί ήταν απόγονοι του Γαλαάδ, πρωτότοκου γιου του Μαχίρ και εγγονού του Μανασσή.

18 Η αδερφή του Γαλαάδ, η Αμμολεχέθ, γέννησε τον Ιεσούδ, τον Αβιέζερ και τον Μαχελά. 19 Γιοι του Σεμιδά ήταν οι Αχιάν, Σεχέμ, Λικχά και Ανιάμ.*Οι στ. 14-19 παρουσιάζουν κενά και η παράδοσή τους από γενιά σε γενιά είναι αμφίβολη.

20 Γιος του Εφραΐμ ήταν ο Σουθαλάχ, γιος του Σουθαλάχ ο Βερέδ και ακολουθούν κατ’ ευθείαν γραμμή οι Γελεάδ, Ταχάθ, 21 Ζαβάδ και Σαθαλάχ. Εκτός από το Σουθαλάχ, ο Εφραΐμ είχε τον Αζέ και τον Ελιάδ.

Αυτοί προσπάθησαν να αρπάξουν από τους γηγενείς κατοίκους της περιοχής της Γαθ τα κοπάδια τους, κι εκείνοι τους σκότωσαν. 22 Ο πατέρας τους ο Εφραΐμ τούς πένθησε πολλές μέρες, κι ήρθαν οι αδερφοί του για να τον παρηγορήσουν. 23 Αργότερα συνευρέθηκε πάλι με τη γυναίκα του κι αυτή έμεινε έγκυος και γέννησε γιο που τον ονόμασε Βεριά,*Βεριά. Στα εβρ. ακούγεται όπως η φρ. «σε θλίψη». επειδή ξέσπασε κακό στο σπίτι του. 24 Κόρη του ήταν η Σεερά. Αυτή έχτισε την άνω και κάτω Βαιθ-Χωρών και τον Ουζέν-Σεερά.

25 Γιος του Βεριά ήταν ο Ρεφάχ, του οποίου οι απόγονοι κατ’ ευθείαν γραμμή ήταν οι Ρεσέφ Θελάχ, Θαχάρ, 26 Λαδάν, Αμμιούδ, Ελισαμά, 27 Νουν και ο γιος του ο Ιησούς.

28 Κτήματά τους και κατοικίες τους ήταν η Βαιθήλ και οι γύρω οικισμοί, ανατολικά η Νααράν, δυτικά η Γαζέρ και οι γύρω οικισμοί καθώς και η Συχέμ και η Γαιάν με τους γύρω οικισμούς. 29 Οι απόγονοι του Μανασσή κατείχαν τις πόλεις Βαιθσεών, Ταενάχ, Μεγιδδώ, Δωρ και τους γύρω τους οικισμούς. Σ’ αυτές κατοικούσαν οι απόγονοι του Ιωσήφ, γιου του Ιακώβ.

30 Γιοι του Ασήρ ήταν οι Ιμνά, Ισβά, Ισβί, Βεριά και κόρη του η Σεράχ.

31 Γιοι του Βεριά ήταν ο Χεβέρ και ο Μαλχιήλ, που ήταν πρόγονος των κατοίκων της Βιρζαβίθ.

32 Γιοι του Χεβέρ ήταν οι Ιαφλήτ, Σωμήρ, Χωθάμ και κόρη του η Σουά.

33 Γιοι του Ιαφλήτ ήταν οι Πασάχ, Βιμάλ και Ασβάθ. 34 Γιοι του Σωμήρ ήταν οι Αχί, Ρωγά, Ιεχουβά και Αράμ. 35 Γιοι του Χωθάμ,*Χωθάμ. Εβρ.: Ελέμ. του αδερφού του, ήταν οι Σωφάχ, Ιμνά, Σελλής και Αμάλ.

36 Γιοι του Σωφάχ ήταν οι Σουάχ, Χαρναφάρ, Σουάλ, Βερί, Ιμρά, 37 Βεσέρ, Ωδ, Σαμμά, Σιλεσά, Ιθράν και Βεερά. 38 Γιοι του Ιεθέρ ήταν οι Ιεφοννή, Φισπά και Ερά.

39 Γιοι του Ουλλά ήταν οι Αράχ, Χαννιήλ και Ρισιά.

40 Όλοι αυτοί ήταν απόγονοι του Ασήρ, ονομαστοί αρχηγοί οικογενειών, άνθρωποι αξιόλογοι και διακεκριμένοι ηγέτες. Σύμφωνα με τους γενεαλογικούς καταλόγους οι οκογένειές τους απαριθμούσαν είκοσι έξι χιλιάδες ετοιμοπόλεμους άντρες.

6 The sons of Benjamin; Bela, and Becher, and Jediael, three. 7 And the sons of Bela; Ezbon, and Uzzi, and Uzziel, and Jerimoth, and Iri, five; heads of the house of their fathers, mighty men of valour; and were reckoned by their genealogies twenty and two thousand and thirty and four. 8 And the sons of Becher; Zemira, and Joash, and Eliezer, and Elioenai, and Omri, and Jerimoth, and Abiah, and Anathoth, and Alameth. All these are the sons of Becher. 9 And the number of them, after their genealogy by their generations, heads of the house of their fathers, mighty men of valour, was twenty thousand and two hundred. 10 The sons also of Jediael; Bilhan: and the sons of Bilhan; Jeush, and Benjamin, and Ehud, and Chenaanah, and Zethan, and Tharshish, and Ahishahar. 11 All these the sons of Jediael, by the heads of their fathers, mighty men of valour, were seventeen thousand and two hundred soldiers, fit to go out for war and battle. 12 Shuppim also, and Huppim, the children of Ir, and Hushim, the sons of Aher.*7.12 Ir: or, Iri*7.12 Aher: or, Ahiram

13 The sons of Naphtali; Jahziel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shallum, the sons of Bilhah.

14 The sons of Manasseh; Ashriel, whom she bare: (but his concubine the Aramitess bare Machir the father of Gilead: 15 And Machir took to wife the sister of Huppim and Shuppim, whose sister’s name was Maachah;) and the name of the second was Zelophehad: and Zelophehad had daughters. 16 And Maachah the wife of Machir bare a son, and she called his name Peresh; and the name of his brother was Sheresh; and his sons were Ulam and Rakem. 17 And the sons of Ulam; Bedan. These were the sons of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh. 18 And his sister Hammoleketh bare Ishod, and Abiezer, and Mahalah. 19 And the sons of Shemida were, Ahian, and Shechem, and Likhi, and Aniam.

20 And the sons of Ephraim; Shuthelah, and Bered his son, and Tahath his son, and Eladah his son, and Tahath his son,

21 And Zabad his son, and Shuthelah his son, and Ezer, and Elead, whom the men of Gath that were born in that land slew, because they came down to take away their cattle. 22 And Ephraim their father mourned many days, and his brethren came to comfort him.

23 And when he went in to his wife, she conceived, and bare a son, and he called his name Beriah, because it went evil with his house. 24 (And his daughter was Sherah, who built Beth-horon the nether, and the upper, and Uzzen-sherah.) 25 And Rephah was his son, also Resheph, and Telah his son, and Tahan his son, 26 Laadan his son, Ammihud his son, Elishama his son, 27 Non his son, Jehoshua his son.*7.27 Non: or, Nun*7.27 Jehoshua: or, Joshua

30 The sons of Asher; Imnah, and Isuah, and Ishuai, and Beriah, and Serah their sister. 31 And the sons of Beriah; Heber, and Malchiel, who is the father of Birzavith. 32 And Heber begat Japhlet, and Shomer, and Hotham, and Shua their sister. 33 And the sons of Japhlet; Pasach, and Bimhal, and Ashvath. These are the children of Japhlet. 34 And the sons of Shamer; Ahi, and Rohgah, Jehubbah, and Aram. 35 And the sons of his brother Helem; Zophah, and Imna, and Shelesh, and Amal. 36 The sons of Zophah; Suah, and Harnepher, and Shual, and Beri, and Imrah, 37 Bezer, and Hod, and Shamma, and Shilshah, and Ithran, and Beera. 38 And the sons of Jether; Jephunneh, and Pispah, and Ara. 39 And the sons of Ulla; Arah, and Haniel, and Rezia. 40 All these were the children of Asher, heads of their father’s house, choice and mighty men of valour, chief of the princes. And the number throughout the genealogy of them that were apt to the war and to battle was twenty and six thousand men.
