1 Ο βασιλιάς Σολομών κατασκεύασε ένα χάλκινο θυσιαστήριο που είχε είκοσι πήχεις μάκρος, είκοσι πήχεις πλάτος και δέκα πήχεις ύψος.

2 Κατασκεύασε ακόμη τη λεγόμενη «θάλασσα». Ήταν μια μεγάλη στρογγυλή, χάλκινη λεκάνη με δέκα πήχεις διάμετρο, πέντε πήχεις ύψος και τριάντα πήχεις περίμετρο. 3 Κάτω από το χείλος της λεκάνης γύρω γύρω υπήρχαν ανάγλυφες διακοσμήσεις βοδιών,*διακοσμήσεις βοδιών. Το Α΄ Βασ 7:24 έχει «διακοσμητικά σχήματα καρπών κολοκυθιάς...» σε δύο σειρές, δέκα βόδια ανά πήχυ. Οι διακοσμήσεις είχαν χυθεί σ’ ένα σώμα με τη λεκάνη. 4 Η λεκάνη στηριζόταν πάνω σε δώδεκα χάλκινα βόδια. Τρία έβλεπαν στο βορρά, τρία στη δύση, τρία στο νότο και τρία στην ανατολή. Η λεκάνη ήταν τοποθετημένη στην πλάτη τους, ενώ τα οπίσθιά τους ήταν στραμμένα προς το κέντρο. 5 Το πάχος της ήταν μία παλάμη και τα χείλη της ήταν σαν χείλη ποτηριού, σαν λουλούδι κρίνου. Η χωρητικότητά της ήταν τρεις χιλιάδες βαθ.

6 Επίσης ο Σολομών κατασκεύασε δέκα λουτήρες και τοποθέτησε πέντε στη δεξιά πλευρά του ναού και πέντε στην αριστερή. Οι λουτήρες χρησίμευαν για να πλένουν σ’ αυτούς τα σφάγια που προορίζονταν για τα ολοκαυτώματα. Οι ιερείς, όμως, πλένονταν στη χάλκινη λεκάνη.

7 Επίσης κατασκεύασε δέκα χρυσές λυχνίες, σύμφωνα με το καθορισμένο σχήμα, και τις τοποθέτησε στο ναό, πέντε δεξιά και πέντε αριστερά. 8 Ακόμη κατασκεύασε δέκα τραπέζια και τα τοποθέτησε στο ναό, πέντε δεξιά και πέντε αριστερά. Επίσης κατασκεύασε εκατό χρυσές λεκάνες.

9 Κατασκεύασε την αυλή των ιερέων και μια άλλη, μεγάλη αυλή, και τις πόρτες τους τις κάλυψε με χαλκό. 10 Τοποθέτησε τη χάλκινη λεκάνη στη δεξιά πλευρά του ναού προς τα νοτιοανατολικά. 11 Επίσης ο Χουράμ*Χουράμ. Βλ. υποσ. εις κεφ. 2:13. κατασκεύασε τα καζάνια, τα φτυάρια και τις λεκάνες.

Έτσι, τελείωσε ο Χουράμ την εργασία που του είχε αναθέσει ο βασιλιάς Σολομών για το ναό του Θεού: 12 Τους δυο στύλους και τα στρογγυλά κιονόκρανα στην κορυφή τους, και τα δύο δικτυωτά από αλυσίδες, που κάλυπταν τα στρογγυλά κιονόκρανα, στην κορυφή των στύλων. 13 Τετρακόσια ρόδια για τα δύο διχτυωτά, δύο σειρές ρόδια για το καθένα, για να σκεπάζουν τα δύο κιονόκρανα στην κορυφή των στύλων. 14 Ακόμη κατασκεύασε τους λουτήρες και τις βάσεις τους· 15 τη μεγάλη χάλκινη λεκάνη και τα δώδεκα βόδια που τη βάσταζαν· 16 τα καζάνια, τα φτυάρια και τις πιρούνες του κρέατος. Τα σκεύη αυτά, που ο βασιλιάς Σολομών παρήγγειλε στον αρχιτεχνίτη Χουράμ*Χουράμ. Βλ. υποσ. εις στ. 11. να κατασκευάσει για το ναό του Κυρίου, ήταν όλα από λαμπερό χαλκό.

17 Με διαταγή του βασιλιά, όλες αυτές οι κατασκευές έγιναν σε αργιλώδη περιοχή, στην κοιλάδα του Ιορδάνη, ανάμεσα στα χωριά Σουκκώθ και Σαρθάν.*Βλ. υποσ. εις Α΄ Βασ 7:46.18 Όλα αυτά τα σκεύη ο Σολομών τα κατασκεύασε σε μεγάλη αφθονία. Ήταν τόσα πολλά, που δεν ήταν δυνατό να υπολογιστεί το βάρος του χαλκού.

19 Επίσης ο Σολομών κατασκεύασε από καθαρό χρυσάφι όλα τα σκεύη που προορίζονταν για το ναό του Κυρίου: το θυσιαστήριο και τα τραπέζια, πάνω στα οποία τοποθετούνταν οι άρτοι της προθέσεως· 20 τις λυχνίες με τους λύχνους τους για να καίνε στα άγια των αγίων, σύμφωνα με τα καθορισμένα· 21 τα διακοσμητικά λουλούδια, τους λύχνους και τα λυχνοψάλιδα· 22 τα περιρραντήρια, τις λεκάνες και τα θυμιατήρια· την είσοδο του ναού, τις εσωτερικές πόρτες του προς τα άγια των αγίων, καθώς και τις πόρτες του κυρίως ναού, όλα από χρυσάφι.

9 Furthermore he made the court of the priests, and the great court, and doors for the court, and overlaid the doors of them with brass. 10 And he set the sea on the right side of the east end, over against the south.

11 And Huram made the pots, and the shovels, and the basons.
