| 3 | As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering into every house, and hauling men and women committed them to prison. | Saulus pedig pusztítá az anyaszentegyházat, házról-házra járva, és férfiakat és asszonyokat elõvonszolva, tömlöczbe veti vala. |
| 4 | Therefore they that were dispersed went every where preaching the word. | Amazok annakokáért eloszolván, széjjeljártak, hirdetve az ígét. |
| 5 mapa | Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ to them. | És Filep lemenvén Samária városába, prédikálja vala nékik a Krisztust. |
| 6 | And the people with one accord gave heed to those things which Philip spoke, hearing and seeing the miracles which he performed. | A sokaság pedig egy szívvel-lélekkel figyelmeze azokra, a miket Filep mondott, hallván és látván a jeleket, melyeket cselekedék. |
| 7 | For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. | Mert sokakból, kikben tisztátalan lelkek voltak, nagy hangon kiáltva kimenének; sok gutaütött és sánta pedig meggyógyula. |
| 8 | And there was great joy in that city. | És lõn nagy öröm abban a városban. |
| 9 mapa | But there was a certain man called Simon, who before in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: | Egy Simon nevû ember pedig már elõbb gyakorolta abban a városban az ördögi tudományt és elámította Samária népét, magát valami nagynak állítván: |
| 10 | To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. | Kire mindnyájan figyeltek, kicsinytõl nagyig, mondván: Ez az Istennek ama nagy ereje! |
| 11 | And to him they had regard, because that for a long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. | Azért figyeltek pedig rá, mert sok idõn át az ördögi mesterségekkel elámította õket. |
| 12 | But when they believed Philip, preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized both men and women. | De miután hittek Filepnek, a ki az Isten országára és a Jézus Krisztus nevére tartozó örvendetes dolgokat hirdeti vala, megkeresztelkedének mind férfiak, mind asszonyok. |
| 13 | Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. | És Simon maga is hûn, és megkeresztelkedvén, Fileppel tarta; és látván, hogy jelek és nagy erõk lesznek, álmélkodik vala. |
| 14 mapa | Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John: | Mikor pedig meghallották a jeruzsálemi apostolok, hogy Samária bevette az Isten ígéjét, elküldék azokhoz Pétert és Jánost; |
| 15 | Who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit: | Kik mikor lementek, könyörögtek érettük, hogy vegyenek Szent Lelket: |
| 16 | (For as yet he had fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) | Mert még senkire azok közül nem szállott rá, csak meg voltak keresztelve az Úr Jézus nevére. |
| 17 | Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. | Akkor kezeiket reájuk veték, és võnek Szent Lelket. |
| 18 | And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, | Mikor pedig látta Simon, hogy az apostolok kézrátétele által adatik a Szent Lélek, megkínálá õket pénzzel, |
| 19 | Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit. | Mondván: Adjátok nékem is ezt a hatalmat, hogy valakire vetem kezeimet, Szent Lelket vegyen. |
| 20 | But Peter said to him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. | De Péter monda néki: A te pénzed veled együtt veszszen el, mivel azt gondoltad, hogy az Istennek ajándéka pénzen megvehetõ. |
| 21 | Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. | Nincsen néked részed, sem örökséged e dologban, mert a te szíved nem igaz az Isten elõtt. |
| 22 | Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thy heart may be forgiven thee. | Térj meg azért ezen gonoszságodból, és kérjed az Istent, ha talán megbocsáttatik néked szívednek gondolatja. |
| 23 | For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity. | Mert látom, hogy te keserûséges méregben és álnokságnak kötelékében leledzel. |
| 24 | Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me. | Felelvén pedig Simon, monda: Könyörögjetek ti énérettem az Úrnak, hogy semmi azokból, a miket mondtatok, reám ne jõjjön. |
| 25 mapa | And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans. | Azok annakokáért, minekutána bizonyságot tettek, és hirdették az Úrnak ígéjét, megtérének Jeruzsálembe, és a Samaritánusoknak sok falujában prédikálák az evangyéliomot. |

És ímé egy szerecsen férfiú, Kandakénak, a szerecsenek királyasszonyának hatalmas komornyikja, ki az õ egész kincstárának felügyelõje vala, ki feljött imádkozni Jeruzsálembe; |
| 28 | Was returning; and sitting in his chariot, read Isaiah the prophet. | És visszatérõben volt és az õ szekerén ül vala, és olvasá Ésaiás prófétát. |
| 29 | Then the Spirit said to Philip, Go near and join thyself to this chariot. | Monda pedig a Lélek Filepnek: Járulj oda és csatlakozzál ehhez a szekérhez! |
| 30 | And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? | Filep azért oda futamodván, hallá, a mint az Ésaiás prófétát olvassa vala. És monda: Vajjon érted-é, a mit olvasol? |
| 31 | And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up, and sit with him. | Õ pedig monda: Mimódon érthetném, ha csak valaki meg nem magyarázza nékem? És kéré Filepet, hogy felhágván, üljön mellé. |
| 32 | The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so he opened not his mouth: | Az írásnak helye pedig, melyet olvasott, ez vala: Mint juh viteték mészárszékre, és mint a bárány az õ nyírõje elõtt néma, azonképen nem nyitotta fel az õ száját. |
| 33 | In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. | Az õ megaláztatásában az õ ítélete elvétetett, az õ nemzetségét pedig kicsoda sorolja el? mert elvétetik a földrõl az õ élete. |
| 34 | And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? | Felelvén pedig a komornyik Filepnek, monda: Kérlek téged, kirõl mondja ezt a próféta? Magáról-é, vagy más valakirõl? |
| 35 | Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached to him Jesus. | Filep pedig száját megnyitván, és elkezdvén ezen az íráson, hirdeté néki a Jézust. |
| 36 | And as they went on their way, they came to a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? | Mikor pedig menének az úton, jutának egy vízhez; és monda a komornyik: Ímhol a víz: mi gátol, hogy megkeresztelkedjem? |
| 37 | And Philip said, If thou believest with all thy heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. | Filep pedig monda: Ha teljes szívbõl hiszel, meglehet. Az pedig felelvén, monda: Hiszem, hogy a Jézus Krisztus az Isten Fia. |
| 38 | And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. | És megállítá a szekeret; és leszállának mindketten a vízbe, Filep és a komornyik; és megkeresztelé õt. |
| 39 | And when they had come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. | Mikor pedig a vízbõl feljöttek, az Úrnak Lelke elragadá Filepet; és többé nem látta õt a komornyik, mert [tovább] méne az õ útján örömmel. |
| 40 mapa | But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through, he preached in all the cities, till he came to Cesarea. | Filep pedig találtaték Azótusban; és széjjeljárva hirdeté az evangyéliomot minden városnak, míglen Czézáreába juta. |
