| 6 | And the apostles and elders came together to consider of this matter. | Egybegyülének azért az apostolok és a vének, hogy e dolog felõl végezzenek. |
| 7 | And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose and said to them, Men, brethren, ye know that a good while ago, God made choice among us, that the Gentiles, by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. | És mikor nagy vetekedés támadt, felkelvén Péter, monda nékik: Atyámfiai, férfiak, ti tudjátok, hogy az Isten régebbi idõ óta kiválasztott [engem] mi közülünk, hogy a pogányok az én számból hallják az evangyéliomnak beszédét, és higyjenek. |
| 8 | And God, who knoweth the hearts, bore them witness, giving to them the Holy Spirit, even as he did to us: | És a szíveket ismerõ Isten bizonyságot tett mellettük, mert adta nékik a Szent Lelket, miként nékünk is; |
| 9 | And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. | És semmi különbséget sem tett mi köztünk és azok között, a hit által tisztítván meg azoknak szívét. |
| 10 | Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? | Most azért mit kísértitek az Istent, hogy a tanítványok nyakába oly igát tegyetek, melyet sem a mi atyáink, sem mi el nem hordozhattunk? |
| 11 | But we believe, that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we shall be saved even as they. | Sõt inkább az Úr Jézus Krisztus kegyelme által hiszszük, hogy megtartatunk, miképen azok is. |
| 12 | Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought by them among the Gentiles. | Elhallgatott azért az egész sokaság; és hallgatják vala Barnabást és Pált, a mint elbeszélék, mennyi jelt és csudát tett az Isten õ általok a pogányok között. |
| 13 | And after they held their peace, James answered, saying, Men, brethren, hearken to me. | Miután pedig õk elhallgattak, felele Jakab, mondván: Atyámfiai, férfiak, hallgassatok meg engem! |
| 14 | Simeon hath declared how God at the first visited the Gentiles to take from among them a people for his name. | Simeon elbeszélé, mimódon gondoskodott elõször az Isten, hogy a pogányok közül vegyen népet az õ nevének, |
| 15 | And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written, | És ezzel egyeznek a próféták mondásai, mint meg van írva: |
| 16 | After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins of it; and I will set it up: | Ezek után megtérek és felépítem a Dávidnak leomlott sátorát; és annak omladékait helyreállítom, és ismét felállatom azt: |
| 17 | That the residue of men may seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things. | Hogy megkeresse az embereknek többi része az Urat, és a pogányok mindnyájan, a kik az én nevemrõl neveztetnek. | 20 | But that we write to them that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from lewdness, and from things strangled, and from blood. | Hanem írjuk meg nékik, hogy tartózkodjanak a bálványok fertelmességeitõl, a paráznaságtól, a fúlvaholt állattól és a vértõl. |
| 21 | For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath. | Mert Mózesnek régi nemzedékek óta városonként megvannak a hirdetõi, mivelhogy a zsinagógákban minden szombaton olvassák. |

| 28 | For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; | Mert tetszék a Szent Léleknek és nékünk, hogy semmi több teher ne vettessék ti reátok ezeken a szükséges dolgokon kívül, |
| 29 | That ye abstain from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from lewdness: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye will do well. Fare ye well. | Hogy tartózkodjatok a bálványoknak áldozott dolgoktól, a vértõl, a fúlvaholt állattól, és a paráznaságtól; melyektõl ha megóvjátok magatokat, jól lesz dolgotok.
