Atos dos Apóstolos 14

1 mapa And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spoke, that a great multitude both of the Jews, and also of the Greeks, believed. Lõn pedig Ikóniumban, hogy õk együtt menének be a zsidók zsinagógájába, és prédikálának, úgyannyira, hogy mind zsidóknak, mind görögöknek nagy sokasága lõn hívõvé.
2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil-affected against the brethren. A kik azonban a zsidók közül nem hivének, felindíták és megharagíták a pogányoknak lelkét az atyafiak ellen.
3 A long time therefore they abode speaking boldly in the Lord, who gave testimony to the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands. Azért sok idõt töltöttek [ott], bátran prédikálva az Úrban, ki bizonyságot tesz vala az õ kegyelmének beszéde mellett, és adja vala, hogy jelek és csodák történjenek az õ kezeik által.
4 But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles. De a városnak sokasága meghasonlék; és némelyek a zsidók mellett, mások pedig az apostolok mellett valának.
5 And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews, with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them, És mikor a pogányok és zsidók az õ fõembereikkel egybe támadást indítának, hogy bosszúsággal illessék és megkövezzék õket,
6 mapa Being apprised of it, they fled to Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the region in that vicinity. Õk megtudták, és elfutának Likaóniának városaiba, Listrába és Derbébe, és a körülvaló tartományba,
7 And there they preached the gospel. És ott prédikálják vala az evangyéliomot.
8 mapa And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who had never walked. És Listrában ül vala egy lábaival tehetetlen ember, ki az õ anyjának méhétõl fogva sánta volt, és soha nem járt.
9 The same heard Paul speak: who steadfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Ez hallá Pált beszélni: a ki szemeit reá függesztvén, és látván, hogy van hite, hogy meggyógyul,
10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked. Monda nagy fenszóval: Állj fel lábaidra egyenesen! És felszökött és járt.
11 And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men. A sokaság pedig mikor látta, a mit Pál cselekedett, felkiálta, likaóniai nyelven mondván: Az istenek jöttek le mihozzánk emberi ábrázatban!
12 And they called Barnabas, Jupiter, and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker. És hívják vala Barnabást Jupiternek, Pált pedig Merkúriusnak, minthogy õ volt a szóvivõ.
13 Then the priest of Jupiter, who was before their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people. Jupiter papja pedig, a kinek [temploma] az õ városuk elõtt vala, felkoszorúzott bikákat hajtva a kapukhoz, a sokasággal együtt áldozni akar vala.
14 Which, when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, Mikor azonban [ezt] meghallották az apostolok, Barnabás és Pál, köntösüket megszaggatván, a sokaság közé futamodának, kiáltván
15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach to you, that ye should turn from these vanities to the living God, who made heaven and earth, and the sea, and all things that are in them. És [ezt] mondván: Férfiak, miért mívelitek ezeket? Mi is hozzátok hasonló természetû emberek vagyunk, és azt az örvendetes izenetet hirdetjük néktek, hogy e hiábavalóktól az élõ Istenhez térjetek, ki teremtette a mennyet, a földet, a tengert és minden azokban valókat:
16 Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways. Ki az elmúlt idõkben hagyta a pogányokat mind a maguk útján haladni:
17 Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness. Jóllehet nem hagyta magát tanúbizonyság nélkül, mert jóltevõnk volt, adván mennybõl esõket és termõ idõket nékünk, és betöltvén eledellel és örömmel a mi szívünket.
18 And with these sayings they scarce restrained the people from doing sacrifice to them. És ezeket mondván, nagynehezen lecsendesíték a sokaságot, hogy nékik ne áldozzék.
19 mapa And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch, and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing him to be dead. Jövének azonban Antiókhiából és Ikóniumból zsidók, és a sokaságot eláltatván, megkövezék Pált, és kivonszolák a városból, azt gondolván, hogy meghalt.
20 mapa But as the disciples stood around him, he rose, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. De mikor körülvették õt a tanítványok, felkelvén, beméne a városba; és másnap Barnabással elméne Derbébe.
21 mapa And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and to Antioch, És miután hirdették az evangyéliomot annak a városnak, és sokakat tanítványokká tettek, megtérének Listrába, Ikoniumba és Antiókhiába.
22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. Erõsítve a tanítványok lelkét, intvén, hogy maradjanak meg a hitben, és hogy sok háborúságon által kell nékünk az Isten országába bemennünk.
23 And when they had ordained for them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed. Miután pedig választottak nékik gyülekezetenként véneket, imádkozván bõjtölésekkel egybe, ajánlák õket az Úrnak, kiben hittek vala.
24 mapa And after they had passed throughout Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia. És Pisidián általmenvén, menének Pamfiliába.
25 mapa And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia: És miután Pergában hirdették az ígét, lemenének Attáliába;
26 mapa And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been commended to the grace of God, for the work which they fulfilled. És onnét elhajózának Antiókhiába, a honnét az Isten kegyelmére bízták volt õket arra a munkára, melyet elvégeztek.
27 And when they had come, and had assembled the church, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and that he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles. Mikor pedig megérkeztek és a gyülekezetet egybehívták, elbeszélék, mily nagy dolgokat cselekedett az Isten õ velök, és hogy a pogányoknak kaput nyitott a hitre.
28 And there they abode a long time with the disciples. Ott aztán nem kevés idõt töltöttek a tanítványokkal.
