| 2 | As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, Separate for me Barnabas and Saul, for the work to which I have called them. | Mikor azért azok szolgálának az Úrnak és bõjtölének, monda a Szent Lélek: Válaszszátok el nékem Barnabást és Saulust a munkára, a melyre én õket elhívtam. |
| 3 | And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. | Akkor, miután bõjtöltek és imádkoztak, és kezeiket reájok vetették, elbocsáták [õket.] |

| 7 | Who was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God. | Ki Sergius Paulus tiszttartóval, ez okos emberrel vala. Ez magához hivatván Barnabást és Saulust, kíváná hallani az Isten beszédét. |
| 8 | But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. | Elimás, az ördöngõs azonban (mert így magyaráztatik az õ neve) ellenkezik vala velök, igyekezvén a tiszttartót elfordítani a hittõl. |
| 9 | Then Saul (who also is called Paul) filled with the Holy Spirit, set his eyes on him, | De Saulus, ki Pál is, megtelvén Szent Lélekkel, szemeit reá vetve, |
| 10 | And said, O full of all subtilty, and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? | Monda: Ó minden álnoksággal és minden gonoszsággal teljes ördögfi, minden igazságnak ellensége, nem szûnöl-é meg az Úrnak igaz útait elfordítani? |
| 11 | And now behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand. | Most azért ímé az Úrnak keze van ellened, és vak leszel és nem látod a napot egy ideig. És azonnal homály és sötétség szálla reá; és kerengve keres vala vezetõket. |
| 12 | Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord. | Akkor a tiszttartó, mikor látta a történt dolgot, hûn, elálmélkodván az Úrnak tudományán. |
| 13 mapa | Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia. And John departing from them, returned to Jerusalem. | Elhajózván pedig Páfusból Pál és kisérõi, Pergába, Pámfiliának városába menének. János azonban elválván tõlük, megtére Jeruzsálembe. |

| 15 | And after the reading of the law and the prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, Men, brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, speak. | És a törvénynek és a prófétáknak felolvasása után küldének a zsinagógának elõljárói õ hozzájok, mondván: Atyánkfiai, férfiak, ha van valami intõbeszédetek a néphez, szóljatok. |
| 16 | Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand, said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience. | Pál azért felkelvén és kezével intvén, monda: Izráelnek férfiai, és ti, kik félitek az Istent, halljátok meg. |
| 17 mapa | The God of this people Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with a high arm he brought them out of it. | Ennek a népnek, Izráelnek Istene kiválasztotta a mi atyáinkat, és e népet fölemelte, mikor Égyiptomnak földében jövevények valának, és onnét kihozá õket hatalmas karja által. |
| 18 | And about the time of forty years he suffered their manners in the wilderness. | És közel negyven esztendõnek idejéig tûrte az õ erkölcsöket a pusztában. |
| 19 mapa | And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he divided their land to them by lot. | És minekutána eltörölt hét népet a Kanaán földén, azoknak földöket sorsvetés által elosztá nékik. |
| 20 | And after that he gave to them judges, about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet. | És azután mintegy négyszázötven esztendeig adott birákat mind Sámuel prófétáig; |
| 21 | And afterward they desired a king: and God gave to them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years. | Annakutána pedig királyt kérének maguknak, és adá nékik az Isten Sault, a Kis fiát, a Benjamin nemzetségébõl való férfiút negyven esztendeig. |
| 22 | And when he had removed him, he raised up to them David to be their king: to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, who shall fulfill all my will. | És mikor õt elveté, támasztá nékik Dávidot királyul; kirõl bizonyságot is tõn és monda: Találtam szívem szerint való férfiút, Dávidot, a Jesse fiát, ki minden akaratomat véghez viszi. |
| 23 | Of this man's offspring hath God, according to his promise, raised up to Israel a Savior, Jesus: | Ennek magvából támasztott Isten, ígérete szerint, Izráelnek szabadítót, Jézust; |
| 24 | John having first preached, before his coming, the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. | Minekutána elõbb János az õ eljövetele elõtt a megtérésnek keresztségét prédikálta Izráel egész népének. |
| 25 | And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he. But behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose. | És mikor be akará végezni János az õ tisztét, monda: Kinek gondoltok engem? Nem én vagyok [az], hanem ímé én utánam jõ, kinek nem vagyok méltó megoldani lábainak saruját. |
| 26 | Men, brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent. | Atyámfiai, férfiak, Ábrahám nemzetének fiai, és kik ti köztetek félik az Istent, ez idvességnek beszéde néktek küldetett. |
| 27 mapa | For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the words of the prophets which are read every sabbath, they have fulfilled them in condemning him. | Mert a kik lakoznak Jeruzsálemben és azoknak fejei, mivelhogy õt fel nem ismerék, a prófétáknak szavait is, melyeket minden szombaton felolvasnak, ítéletükkel betöltötték. |
| 28 | And though they found no cause of death in him, yet they desired Pilate that he should be put to death. | És bár semmi halálra való okot nem találtak, kérék Pilátustól, hogy ölettessék meg. |
| 29 | And when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulcher. | És mikor mindazokat elvégezték, a mik õ felõle megirattak, a fáról levéve sírba helyhezteték. |
| 30 | But God raised him from the dead: | De az Isten feltámasztá õt halottaiból: |
| 31 mapa | And he was seen many days by them who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people. | És õ megjelent több napon át azoknak, kik együtt jöttek fel õ vele Galileából Jeruzsálembe, kik néki bizonyságai a nép elõtt. |
| 32 | And we declare to you the glad tidings, that the promise which was made to the fathers, | És mi hirdetjük néktek az atyáknak tett ígéretet, hogy azt az Isten betöltötte nékünk, az õ fiaiknak feltámasztván Jézust: |
| 33 | God hath fulfilled the same to us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. | Mint a második zsoltárban is meg van írva: Én Fiam vagy te; ma nemzettelek én téged. |
| 34 | And as concerning that he raised him from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David. | Hogy pedig feltámasztotta õt halottaiból, úgy hogy nem is fog többé az enyészetbe visszatérni, azt így mondotta: Néktek adom a Dávid biztos szent [javait.] |
| 35 | Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou wilt not suffer thy Holy One to see corruption. | Azért mondja másutt is: Nem engeded, hogy a te Szented rothadást lásson. |
| 36 | For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, and was laid to his fathers, and saw corruption: | Mert Dávid, minekutána a saját idejében szolgált az Isten akaratának, elaludt, és helyhezteték az õ atyáihoz, és rothadást látott. |
| 37 | But he whom God raised again, saw no corruption. | De a kit Isten feltámasztott, az nem látott rothadást. |
| 38 | Be it known to you therefore, men, brethren, that through this man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; | Azért legyen néktek tudtotokra, atyámfiai, férfiak, hogy ez által hirdettetik néktek a bûnöknek bocsánata: |
| 39 | And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. | És mindenekbõl, a mikbõl a Mózes törvénye által meg nem igazíttathattatok, ez által mindenki, a ki hisz, megigazul. |
| 40 | Beware therefore, lest that come upon you which is spoken in the prophets; | Meglássátok azért, hogy rajtatok ne essék, a mit a próféták megmondottak: |
| 41 | Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye will in no wise believe, though a man declare it to you. | Lássátok meg, ti megvetõk, és csodálkozzatok és semmisüljetek meg; mert én [oly] dolgot cselekszem a ti idõtökben, [oly] dolgot, melyet nem hinnétek, ha valaki elmondaná néktek. |
| 42 | And when the Jews had gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. | Mikor pedig kimentek a zsidók zsinagógájából, kérék a pogányok, hogy a következõ szombaton prédikálják nékik ezen beszédeket. |
| 43 | Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. | Mikor pedig eloszlott a gyülekezet, sokan a zsidók közül és az istenfélõ prozelitusok közül követék Pált és Barnabást; a kik szólván hozzájuk, biztaták õket, hogy maradjanak meg az Isten kegyelmében. |
| 44 | And the next sabbath came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God. | A következõ szombaton aztán majdnem az egész város egybegyûle az Isten ígéjének hallgatására, |
| 45 | But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spoke against those things which were uttered by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming. | Mikor pedig látták a zsidók a sokaságot, betelének irigységgel, és ellene mondának azoknak, miket Pál mond vala, ellenkezve és káromlást szólva. |
| 46 | Then Paul and Barnabas became bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you: but seeing ye reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. | Akkor Pál és Barnabás nagy bátorsággal szólva mondának: Szükséges volt, hogy elõször néktek hirdettessék az Isten ígéje; de mivelhogy ti megvetitek azt, és nem tartjátok méltóknak magatokat az örök életre, ímé a pogányokhoz fordulunk. |
| 47 | For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldst be for salvation to the ends of the earth. | Mert így parancsolta nékünk az Úr: Rendeltelek téged világosságul a pogányoknak, hogy légy üdvösségükre a földnek széléig. |
| 48 | And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life, believed. | A pogányok pedig ezeket hallván, örvendezének, és magasztalják vala az Úrnak ígéjét; és a kik csak örök életre választattak vala, hivének. |
| 49 | And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region. | Terjede pedig az Úrnak ígéje az egész tartományban. |
| 50 | But the Jews stirred up the devout and honorable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their borders. | A zsidók azonban felindíták az istenfélõ és tisztességbeli asszonyokat és a városnak eleit, és üldözést támasztának Pál és Barnabás ellen, és kiûzék õket határukból. |
| 51 mapa | But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came to Iconium. | Azok pedig lábuknak porát lerázván ellenük, elmenének Ikóniumba. |
