1 And thou, son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of Jehovah. 2 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha! and, The ancient high places are ours in possession; 3 therefore prophesy, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because, even because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the nations, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and the evil report of the people; 4 therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Jehovah: Thus saith the Lord Jehovah to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which are become a prey and derision to the residue of the nations that are round about; 5 therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the nations, and against all Edom, that have appointed my land unto themselves for a possession with the joy of all their heart, with despite of soul, to cast it out for a prey. 6 Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my wrath, because ye have borne the shame of the nations: 7 therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I have sworn, saying, Surely the nations that are round about you, they shall bear their shame.

8 But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people Israel; for they are at hand to come. 9 For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown; 10 and I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded; 11 and I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and be fruitful; and I will cause you to be inhabited after your former estate, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am Jehovah. 12 Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of children. 13 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because they say unto you, Thou land art a devourer of men, and hast been a bereaver of thy nation; 14 therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nation any more, saith the Lord Jehovah; 15 neither will I let thee hear any more the shame of the nations, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the peoples any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nation to stumble any more, saith the Lord Jehovah.

16 Moreover the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 17 Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their way and by their doings: their way before me was as the uncleanness of a woman in her impurity. 18 Wherefore I poured out my wrath upon them for the blood which they had poured out upon the land, and because they had defiled it with their idols; 19 and I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them. 20 And when they came unto the nations, whither they went, they profaned my holy name; in that men said of them, These are the people of Jehovah, and are gone forth out of his land. 21 But I had regard for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations, whither they went.

22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I do not this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for my holy name, which ye have profaned among the nations, whither ye went. 23 And I will sanctify my great name, which hath been profaned among the nations, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the nations shall know that I am Jehovah, saith the Lord Jehovah, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. 24 For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land. 25 And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep mine ordinances, and do them. 28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. 29 And I will save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the grain, and will multiply it, and lay no famine upon you. 30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations. 31 Then shall ye remember your evil ways, and your doings that were not good; and ye shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.

32 Nor for your sake do I this, saith the Lord Jehovah, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel. 33 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded. 34 And the land that was desolate shall be tilled, whereas it was a desolation in the sight of all that passed by. 35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited. 36 Then the nations that are left round about you shall know that I, Jehovah, have builded the ruined places, and planted that which was desolate: I, Jehovah, have spoken it, and I will do it.

37 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: For this, moreover, will I be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them: I will increase them with men like a flock. 38 As the flock for sacrifice, as the flock of Jerusalem in her appointed feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

1 Tu, fiul omului, prorocește asupra munților*Cap. 6:2,3. lui Israel și spune: ‘Munți ai lui Israel, ascultați cuvântul Domnului! 2 Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Pentru că*Cap. 25:3;26:2. vrăjmașul a zis despre voi: ‹Ha! Ha! Aceste înălțimi*Deut. 32:13. veșnice au ajuns moștenirea*Cap. 35:10. noastră!›»’, 3 prorocește și zi: ‘Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Da, pentru că din toate părțile au voit să vă pustiască și să vă înghită, ca să ajungeți moștenirea altor neamuri, și pentru că ați fost*Deut. 28:37.1 Împ. 9:7.Plâng. 2:15.Dan. 9:16. de batjocura și de ocara popoarelor, 4 de aceea, munți ai lui Israel, ascultați cuvântul Domnului Dumnezeu! Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeul munților și dealurilor, râurilor și văilor, dărâmăturilor pustii și cetăților părăsite, care au ajuns*Cap. 34:28. de prada și de râsul*Ps. 79:4. celorlalte neamuri dimprejur, 5 așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: ‹Da, în*Deut. 4:24. Cap. 38:19. focul geloziei Mele, vorbesc împotriva celorlalte neamuri și împotriva întregului Edom, care și-au însușit*Cap. 35:10,12. țara Mea și s-au bucurat din toată inima lor și cu tot disprețul sufletului lor, ca să-i jefuiască roadele.›»’ 6 De aceea, prorocește despre țara lui Israel și spune munților și dealurilor, râurilor și văilor: ‘Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Iată, vorbesc în gelozia și urgia Mea, pentru că suferiți ocară*Ps. 123:3,4. Cap. 34:29. Vers. 15. din partea neamurilor!» 7 De aceea, așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Îmi ridic*Cap. 20:5. mâna și jur că neamurile care vă înconjoară își vor purta ele însele ocara! 8 Iar voi, munți ai lui Israel, veți da crengi și vă veți purta roadele pentru poporul Meu Israel, căci lucrurile acestea sunt aproape să se întâmple. 9 Iată că voi fi binevoitor, Mă voi întoarce spre voi și veți fi lucrați și semănați. 10 Voi pune să locuiască pe voi oameni în mare număr, toată casa lui Israel, pe toți! Cetățile vor fi locuite și se vor zidi iarăși dărâmăturile*Is. 58:12;61:4. Vers. 33.Amos 9:14.. 11 Voi înmulți*Ier. 31:27;33:12. pe voi oamenii și vitele care vor crește și se vor înmulți; voi face să fiți locuiți ca și mai înainte și vă voi face mai mult bine decât odinioară și veți ști*Cap. 35:9;37:6,13. că Eu sunt Domnul. 12 Voi face să umble pe voi oameni, și anume poporul Meu Israel; ei te vor stăpâni*Obad. 17. și tu vei fi moștenirea lor și nu-i vei mai*Ier. 15:7. nimici.» 13 Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Pentru că ți se zice: ‹Tu*Num. 13:32., țară, ai mâncat oameni, ți-ai nimicit chiar și neamul tău›, 14 din pricina aceasta de acum încolo nu vei mai mânca oameni și nu-ți vei mai nimici neamul», zice Domnul Dumnezeu. 15 «De acum, nu te voi mai face*Cap. 34:29. să auzi batjocurile neamurilor și nu vei mai purta ocara popoarelor; nu-ți vei mai nimici neamul», zice Domnul Dumnezeu.’" 16 Cuvântul Domnului mi-a vorbit astfel: 17 „Fiul omului, cei din casa lui Israel, când locuiau în țara lor, au spurcat-o*Lev. 18:25,27,28.Ier. 2:7. prin purtarea lor și prin faptele lor; așa că purtarea lor a fost înaintea Mea ca spurcăciunea*Lev. 15:19. unei femei în timpul necurăției ei. 18 Atunci Mi-am vărsat urgia peste ei din pricina sângelui*Cap. 16:36,38;23:37. pe care-l vărsaseră în țară și din pricina idolilor cu care o spurcaseră. 19 I-am risipit*Cap. 22:15. printre neamuri și au fost împrăștiați în felurite țări; i-am*Cap. 7:3;18:30;39:24. judecat după purtarea și faptele lor rele. 20 Când au venit printre neamuri, oriîncotro se duceau, pângăreau*Is. 52:5.Rom. 2:24. Numele Meu cel sfânt, așa încât se zicea despre ei: ‘Acesta este poporul Domnului, ei au trebuit să iasă din țara lor.’ 21 Și am vrut să scap cinstea Numelui*Cap. 20:9,14. Meu celui sfânt, pe care-l pângărea casa lui Israel printre neamurile la care se dusese. 22 De aceea, spune casei lui Israel: ‘Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Nu din pricina voastră fac aceste lucruri, casa lui Israel, ci din pricina Numelui Meu*Ps. 106:8. celui sfânt, pe care l-ați pângărit printre neamurile la care ați mers. 23 De aceea voi sfinți Numele Meu cel mare, care a fost pângărit printre neamuri, pe care l-ați pângărit în mijlocul lor. Și neamurile vor cunoaște că Eu sunt Domnul», zice Domnul Dumnezeu, «când voi fi sfințit*Cap. 20:41;28:22. în voi sub ochii lor. 24 Căci vă voi scoate*Cap. 34:13;37:21. dintre neamuri, vă voi strânge din toate țările și vă voi aduce iarăși în țara voastră. 25 Vă voi stropi*Is. 52:15.Evr. 10:22. cu apă curată și veți fi curățiți; vă voi curăți*Ier. 33:8. de toate spurcăciunile voastre și de toți idolii voștri. 26 Vă voi*Ier. 32:39. Cap. 11:19. da o inimă nouă și voi pune în voi un duh nou; voi scoate din trupul vostru inima de piatră și vă voi da o inimă de carne. 27 Voi pune Duhul*Cap. 11:19;37:14. Meu în voi și vă voi face să urmați poruncile Mele și să păziți și să împliniți legile Mele. 28 Veți locui*Cap. 28:25;37:25. în țara pe care am dat-o părinților voștri; voi veți fi poporul Meu*Ier. 30:22. Cap. 11:20; 37:27. și Eu voi fi Dumnezeul vostru. 29 Vă voi*Mat. 1:21.Rom. 11:26. izbăvi de toate necurățiile voastre. Voi chema*Ps. 105:16. grâul și-l voi înmulți; nu voi*Cap. 34:29. mai trimite foametea peste voi. 30 Voi înmulți*Cap. 34:27. rodul pomilor și venitul câmpului, ca să nu mai purtați ocara foametei printre neamuri. 31 Atunci vă veți*Cap. 16:61,63.Lev. 26:39. Cap. 6:9; 20:43. aduce aminte de purtarea voastră cea rea și de faptele voastre care nu erau bune; vă va fi scârbă de voi înșivă din pricina nelegiuirilor și urâciunilor voastre. 32 Și toate aceste lucruri nu*Deut. 9:5. Vers. 22. le fac din pricina voastră», zice Domnul Dumnezeu, «să știți! Rușinați-vă și roșiți de purtarea voastră, casa lui Israel!» 33 Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «În ziua când vă voi curăți de toate nelegiuirile voastre, voi face ca cetățile voastre să fie locuite și dărâmăturile*Vers. 10. vor fi zidite din nou; 34 țara pustiită va fi lucrată iarăși, de unde până aici era pustie în ochii tuturor trecătorilor. 35 Și se va spune atunci: ‹Țara aceasta pustiită a ajuns ca o grădină a Edenului*Is. 51:3. Cap. 28:13.Ioel 2:3. și cetățile acestea dărâmate, care erau pustii și surpate, sunt întărite și locuite!› 36 Și neamurile care vor mai rămâne în jurul vostru vor ști că Eu, Domnul, am zidit din nou ce era surpat și am sădit ce era pustiit. Eu*Cap. 17:24;22:14;37:14., Domnul, am vorbit și voi și face.» 37 Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Iată în ce privință Mă voi*Cap. 14:3;20:3,31. lăsa înduplecat de casa lui Israel și iată ce voi face pentru ei: voi înmulți*Vers. 10. pe oameni ca pe o turmă de oi. 38 Cetățile dărâmate se vor umple cu turme de oameni, ca turmele închinate Domnului, cu turme care sunt aduse la Ierusalim în timpul sărbătorilor celor mari. Și vor ști că Eu sunt Domnul.»’"
