Psalms 13:1,2,5,6

CSB Christian Standard Bible

A Plea for Deliverance

1 How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?

How long will you hide your face from me?  13:1 Jb 13:24; Ps 44:24; 89:46

2 How long will I store up anxious concerns  13:2 Or up counsels within me,

agony in my mind every day?

How long will my enemy dominate me?  13:2 Ps 6:3; 38:6; 42:9

5 But I have trusted in your faithful love;  13:5 Ps 52:8

my heart will rejoice in your deliverance.  13:5 Ps 9:14

6 I will sing to the  Lord

because he has treated me generously.  13:6 Ps 119:17; 142:7

  7. DRA Douay-Rheims American 1899

1 Unto the end, a psalm for David. The fool hath said in his heart: There is no God, They are corrupt, and are become abominable in their ways: there is none that doth good, no not one.

2 The Lord hath looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there be any that understand and seek God.

5 They have not called upon the Lord: there have they trembled for fear, where there was no fear.

6 For the Lord is in the just generation: you have confounded the counsel of the poor man, but the Lord is his hope.

  8. MSG The Message

    1,2 Long enough, God—

    you’ve ignored me long enough.

I’ve looked at the back of your head

    long enough. Long enough

I’ve carried this ton of trouble,

lived with a stomach full of pain.

    Long enough my arrogant enemies

have looked down their noses at me.

5,6 I’ve thrown myself headlong into your arms—

    I’m celebrating your rescue.

I’m singing at the top of my lungs,

I’m so full of answered prayers.
