1 And Moses tended the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock behind the wilderness, and came to the mountain of God*GodHebrew: Elohim — to Horeb. 2 And the Angel of Jehovah appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a thorn-bush: and he looked, and behold, the thorn-bush burned with fire, and the thorn-bush was not being consumed. 3 And Moses said, Let me now turn aside and see this great sight, why the thorn-bush is not burnt. 4 And Jehovah saw that he turned aside to see, and God*GodHebrew: Elohim called to him out of the midst of the thorn-bush and said, Moses, Moses! And he said, Here am I. 5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: loose thy sandals from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. 6 And he said, I am the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of thy father, the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Abraham, the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Isaac, and the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look at God*GodHebrew: Elohim

7 And Jehovah said, I have seen assuredly the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and their cry have I heard on account of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows. 8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good and spacious land, unto a land flowing with milk and honey, unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. 9 And now behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me; and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. 10 And now come, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.

11 And Moses said to God*GodHebrew: Elohim Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? 12 And he said, For I will be with thee; and this shall be the sign to thee that I have sent thee: when thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God*GodHebrew: Elohim upon this mountain. 13 And Moses said to God*GodHebrew: Elohim Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God*GodHebrew: Elohim of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? 14 And God*GodHebrew: Elohim said to Moses, I AM THAT I AM. And he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel: I AM hath sent me unto you. 15 And God*GodHebrew: Elohim said moreover to Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel: Jehovah, the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of your fathers, the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Abraham, the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Isaac, and the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Jacob, hath sent me unto you. This is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

16 Go and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, Jehovah the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of your fathers, the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, hath appeared to me, saying, I have indeed visited you, and seen that which is done unto you in Egypt; 17 and I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt, unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and honey. 18 And they shall hearken to thy voice. And thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, Jehovah, the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of the Hebrews, hath met with us; and now, let us go, we pray thee, three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to Jehovah our God*GodHebrew: Elohim19 But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a powerful hand. 20 And I will stretch out my hand and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof; and after that he will let you go. 21 And I will give this people favour in the eyes of the Egyptians, and it shall come to pass, when ye go out, that ye shall not go out empty; 22 but every woman shall ask of her neighbour, and of her that is the inmate of her house, utensils of silver, and utensils of gold, and clothing; and ye shall put them on your sons and on your daughters, and shall spoil the Egyptians.

El a răspuns: „Iată-mă!" 5 Dumnezeu a zis: „Nu te apropia de locul acesta; scoate-ți*Cap. 19:12.Ios. 5:15.Fapte 7:33. încălțămintea din picioare, căci locul pe care calci este un pământ sfânt." 6 Și a adăugat: „Eu sunt*Gen. 28:13. Vers. 15. Cap. 4:5.Mat. 22:32.Marcu 12:26.Luca 20:37.Fapte 7:32. Dumnezeul tatălui tău, Dumnezeul lui Avraam, Dumnezeul lui Isaac și Dumnezeul lui Iacov." Moise și-a ascuns fața, căci se temea*1 Împ. 19:13.Is. 6:1,5. să-L privească pe Dumnezeu. 7 Domnul a zis: „Am*Cap. 2:23-25.Neem. 9:9.Ps. 106:44.Fapte 7:34. văzut asuprirea poporului Meu, care este în Egipt, și am auzit strigătele pe care le scoate din pricina asupritorilor*Cap. 1:11. lui, căci îi*Gen. 18:21. Cap. 2:25. cunosc durerile. 8 M-am coborât*Gen. 11:5,7;18:21;50:24. ca să-l izbăvesc*Cap. 6:6,8;12:51. din mâna egiptenilor și să-l scot din țara aceasta și să-l duc într-o țară*Deut. 1:25;8:7-9. bună și întinsă, într-o țară unde curge*Vers. 17. 11 Moise a zis lui Dumnezeu: „Cine*Cap. 6:12.1 Sam. 18:18.Is. 6:5,8.Ier. 1:6. sunt eu, ca să mă duc la Faraon și să scot din Egipt pe copiii lui Israel?" 12 Dumnezeu a zis: „Eu voi*Gen. 31:3.Deut. 31:23.Ios. 1:5.Rom. 8:31. fi negreșit cu tine, și iată care va fi pentru tine semnul că Eu te-am trimis: după ce vei scoate pe popor din Egipt, veți sluji lui Dumnezeu pe muntele acesta." 13 Moise a zis lui Dumnezeu: „Iată, când mă voi duce la copiii lui Israel și le voi spune: ‘Dumnezeul părinților voștri m-a trimis la voi’ și mă vor întreba: ‘Care este Numele Lui?’, ce le voi răspunde?" 14 Dumnezeu a zis lui Moise: „Eu sunt Cel ce sunt." Și a adăugat: „Vei răspunde copiilor lui Israel astfel: ‘Cel ce Se numește «Eu*Cap. 6:3.Ioan 8:58.2 Cor. 1:20.Evr. 13:8.Apoc. 1:4. sunt» m-a trimis la voi.’" 15 Dumnezeu a mai zis lui Moise: „Așa să vorbești copiilor lui Israel: ‘Domnul Dumnezeul părinților voștri, Dumnezeul lui Avraam, Dumnezeul lui Isaac și Dumnezeul lui Iacov, m-a trimis la voi. Acesta este Numele*Ps. 135:13.Osea 12:5. Meu pentru veșnicie, acesta este Numele Meu din neam în neam.’ 16 Du-te, strânge*Cap. 4:29. pe bătrânii lui Israel și spune-le: ‘Mi s-a arătat Domnul Dumnezeul părinților voștri, Dumnezeul lui Avraam, lui Isaac și lui Iacov. El a zis*Gen. 50:24. Cap. 2:25; 4:31.Luca 1:68.: «V-am văzut și am văzut ce vi se face în Egipt 17 și am zis: Vă*Gen. 15:14,16. Vers. 8. voi scoate din suferința Egiptului și vă voi duce în țara canaaniților, hetiților, amoriților, fereziților, heviților și iebusiților, într-o țară unde curge lapte și miere.»’ 18 Ei vor asculta*Cap. 4:31. de glasul tău și te vei duce, tu și bătrânii lui Israel, la împăratul Egiptului și îi veți spune: ‘Domnul Dumnezeul evreilor S-a întâlnit*Cap. 5:1,3. cu noi. După aceea, are să vă lase să plecați. 21 Voi face*Cap. 12:31. chiar ca poporul acesta să capete trecere înaintea egiptenilor, și, când veți pleca, nu veți pleca cu mâinile goale. 22 Fiecare femeie*Cap. 11:3;12:36.Ps. 106:46.Prov. 16:7. va cere de la vecina ei și de la cea care locuiește în casa ei vase de argint, vase de aur și haine pe care le veți pune pe fiii și fiicele voastre.
