1 And Jehovah said to Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith Jehovah: Let my people go, that they may serve me. 2 And if thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs. 3 And the river shall swarm with frogs, and they shall go up and come into thy house, and into thy bedroom, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy bondmen, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneading-troughs. 4 And the frogs shall come up both upon thee and upon thy people, and upon all thy bondmen. 5 And Jehovah said to Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy hand with thy staff over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Egypt. 6 And Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt. 7 And the scribes did so with their sorceries, and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt. 8 And Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron, and said, Intreat Jehovah, that he may take away the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to Jehovah. 9 And Moses said to Pharaoh, Glory over me, for what time shall I intreat for thee, and for thy bondmen, and for thy people, to cut off the frogs from thee and from thy houses; so that they shall remain in the river only? 10 And he said, For to-morrow. And he said, Be it according to thy word; that thou mayest know that there is none like Jehovah our God*GodHebrew: Elohim11 And the frogs shall depart from thee, and from thy houses, and from thy bondmen, and from thy people: they shall remain in the river only. 12 And Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh; and Moses cried to Jehovah because of the frogs that he had brought against Pharaoh. 13 And Jehovah did according to the word of Moses; and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courts, and out of the fields. 14 And they gathered them in heaps; and the land stank. 15 And Pharaoh saw that there was respite; and he hardened his heart, and hearkened not to them, as Jehovah had said.

16 And Jehovah said to Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy staff, and smite the dust of the earth, and it shall become gnats throughout the land of Egypt. 17 And they did so; and Aaron stretched out his hand with his staff, and smote the dust of the earth, and there arose gnats on man and on beast: all the dust of the land became gnats throughout the land of Egypt. 18 And the scribes did so with their sorceries, to bring forth gnats; but they could not. And the gnats were on man and on beast. 19 Then the scribes said to Pharaoh, This is the finger of God*GodHebrew: Elohim But Pharaoh’s heart was stubborn, and he hearkened not to them, as Jehovah had said.

20 And Jehovah said to Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh — behold, he will go out to the water — and say to him, Thus saith Jehovah, Let my people go, that they may serve me. 21 For, if thou do not let my people go, behold, I will send dog-flies upon thee, and upon thy bondmen, and upon thy people, and into thy houses; and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of dog-flies, and also the ground on which they are. 22 And I will distinguish in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no dog-flies shall be there; that thou mayest know that I Jehovah am in the midst of the land. 23 And I will put a separation between my people and thy people; to-morrow shall this sign be. 24 And Jehovah did so; and there came dog-flies in a multitude into the house of Pharaoh, and into the houses of his bondmen; and throughout the land of Egypt, the land was corrupted by the dog-flies. 25 And Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron, and said, Go, sacrifice to your God*GodHebrew: Elohim in the land. 26 And Moses said, It is not proper to do so; for we should sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to Jehovah our God*GodHebrew: Elohim lo, if we sacrificed the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, would they not stone us? 27 We will go three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to Jehovah our God*GodHebrew: Elohim as he shall command us. 28 And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to Jehovah your God*GodHebrew: Elohim in the wilderness; only, go not very far away: intreat for me! 29 And Moses said, Behold, I go out from thee, and will intreat Jehovah; and the dog-flies will depart from Pharaoh, from his bondmen, and from his people, to-morrow; only let not Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to Jehovah. 30 And Moses went out from Pharaoh, and intreated Jehovah. 31 And Jehovah did according to the word of Moses; and he removed the dog-flies from Pharaoh, from his bondmen, and from his people; there remained not one. 32 And Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also, and would not let the people go.

1 Domnul a zis lui Moise: „Du-te la Faraon și spune-i: ‘Așa vorbește Domnul: «Lasă pe poporul Meu să plece ca să-Mi*Cap. 3:12,18. slujească. 2 Dacă nu*Cap. 7:14;9:2. vrei să-l lași să plece, am să aduc broaște*Apoc. 16:13. pe toată întinderea țării tale. 3 Râul va mișuna de broaște; ele se vor sui și vor intra în casa ta, în odaia*Ps. 105:30. ta de dormit și în patul tău, în casa slujitorilor tăi și în casele poporului tău, în cuptoarele și în postăvile de frământat pâinea. 4 Ba încă broaștele se vor sui și pe tine, pe poporul tău și pe toți slujitorii tăi.»’" 5 Domnul a zis lui Moise: „Spune lui Aaron*Cap. 7:19.: ‘Întinde-ți mâna cu toiagul peste râuri, peste pâraie și peste iazuri și scoate broaște din ele peste țara Egiptului!’" 6 Aaron și-a întins mâna peste apele Egiptului și au ieșit*Ps. 78:45;105:30. broaștele și au acoperit țara Egiptului. 7 Dar*Cap. 7:11. și vrăjitorii au făcut la fel prin vrăjitoriile lor: au scos și ei broaște peste toată țara Egiptului. 8 Faraon a chemat pe Moise și pe Aaron și a zis*Cap. 9:28;10:17.Num. 21:7.1 Împ. 13:6.Fapte 8:24.: „Rugați-vă Domnului să depărteze broaștele de la mine și de la poporul meu, și am să las pe popor să plece să aducă jertfe Domnului." 9 Moise a zis lui Faraon: „Hotărăște-mi când să mă rog Domnului pentru tine, pentru slujitorii tăi și pentru poporul tău, ca să îndepărteze broaștele de la tine și din casele tale! Nu vor mai rămâne decât în râu." 10 El a răspuns: „Mâine." Și Moise a zis: „Așa va fi, ca să știi că nimeni*Cap. 9:14.Deut. 33:26.2 Sam. 7:22.1 Cron. 17:20.Ps. 86:8.Is. 46:9.Ier. 10:6,7. nu este ca Domnul Dumnezeul nostru. 11 Broaștele se vor depărta de la tine și din casele tale, de la slujitorii tăi și de la poporul tău; nu vor mai rămâne decât în râu." 12 Moise și Aaron au ieșit de la Faraon. Și Moise*Vers. 30. Cap. 9:33;10:18;32:11.Iac. 5:16,17,18. a strigat către Domnul cu privire la broaștele cu care lovise pe Faraon. 13 Domnul a făcut cum cerea Moise, și broaștele au pierit în case, în curți și în ogoare. 14 Le-au strâns grămezi, și țara s-a împuțit. 15 Faraon, văzând că are*Ecl. 8:11. răgaz să răsufle în voie, și-a*Cap. 7:14. împietrit inima și n-a ascultat de Moise și de Aaron, după cum spusese Domnul.

16 Domnul a zis lui Moise: „Spune lui Aaron: ‘Întinde-ți toiagul și lovește țărâna pământului, și se va preface în păduchi*8:16 Sau: țânțari., în toată țara Egiptului.’" 17 Așa au făcut. Aaron și-a întins mâna cu toiagul și a lovit țărâna pământului, și s-a prefăcut în*Ps. 105:31. păduchi pe toți oamenii și pe toate dobitoacele. Toată țărâna pământului s-a prefăcut în păduchi în toată țara Egiptului. 18 Vrăjitorii*Cap. 7:11. au căutat să facă și ei păduchi prin vrăjitoriile lor, dar n-au*Luca 10:18.2 Tim. 3:8,9. putut. Păduchii erau pe oameni și pe dobitoace. 19 Și vrăjitorii au zis lui Faraon: „Aici este*1 Sam. 6:3,9.Ps. 8:3.Mat. 12:28.Luca 11:20. degetul lui Dumnezeu!" Dar inima*Vers. 15. lui Faraon s-a împietrit și n-a ascultat de Moise și de Aaron, după cum spusese Domnul.

20 Domnul a zis lui Moise*Cap. 7:15.: „Scoală-te dis-de-dimineață și du-te înaintea lui Faraon când are să iasă să se ducă la apă. Să-i spui: ‘Așa vorbește Domnul*Vers. 1.: «Lasă pe poporul Meu să plece, ca să-Mi slujească. 21 Dacă nu vei lăsa pe poporul Meu să plece, am să trimit muște câinești împotriva ta, împotriva slujitorilor tăi, împotriva poporului tău și împotriva caselor tale; casele egiptenilor vor fi pline de muște și pământul va fi acoperit de ele. 22 Dar*Cap. 9:4,6,26;10:23;11:6,7;12:13. în ziua aceea voi deosebi ținutul Gosen, unde locuiește poporul Meu, și acolo nu vor fi muște, pentru ca să cunoști că Eu, Domnul, sunt în mijlocul ținutului acestuia. 23 Voi face o deosebire între poporul Meu și poporul tău. Semnul acesta va fi mâine.»’" 24 Domnul a făcut așa. A venit*Ps. 78:45;105:31. un roi de muște câinești în casa lui Faraon și a slujitorilor lui și toată țara Egiptului a fost pustiită de muște câinești. 25 Faraon a chemat pe Moise și pe Aaron și le-a zis: „Duceți-vă de aduceți jertfe Dumnezeului vostru aici în țară." 26 Moise a răspuns: „Nu este deloc potrivit să facem așa, căci am aduce Domnului Dumnezeului nostru jertfe care sunt o urâciune pentru egipteni. Și dacă am aduce sub ochii lor jertfe care sunt o*Gen. 43:32;46:34.Deut. 7:25,26;12:31. urâciune pentru egipteni, nu ne vor ucide ei oare cu pietre? 27 Vom face mai bine un drum de*Cap. 3:18. trei zile în pustie și acolo vom aduce jertfe Domnului Dumnezeului nostru, după cum*Cap. 3:12. ne va spune." 28 Faraon a zis: „Vă voi lăsa să plecați ca să aduceți jertfe Domnului Dumnezeului vostru în pustie; numai să nu vă depărtați prea mult, dacă plecați*Vers. 8. Cap. 9:28.1 Împ. 13:6.. Rugați-vă pentru mine." 29 Moise a răspuns: „Am să ies de la tine și am să mă rog Domnului. Mâine, muștele se vor depărta de la Faraon, de la slujitorii lui și de la poporul lui. Dar să nu ne*Vers. 15. mai înșele Faraon, nevrând să lase pe popor să plece ca să aducă jertfe Domnului." 30 Moise a ieșit de la Faraon și s-a*Vers. 12. rugat Domnului. 31 Domnul a făcut cum cerea Moise, și muștele s-au depărtat de la Faraon, de la slujitorii lui și de la poporul lui; n-a mai rămas una. 32 Dar Faraon și de data aceasta și-a împietrit*Vers. 15. Cap. 4:21. inima și n-a lăsat pe popor să plece.
