Psalm 11

The Lord Is in His Holy Temple

To the choirmaster. Of David.

1 In the Lord I take refuge;

how can you say to my soul,

2 for behold, the wicked *Ps. 7:12;64:4;[Jer. 9:3] bend the bow;

*Ps. 21:12;58:7;See Ps. 7:10they have fitted their arrow to the string

to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart;

3 if *Ps. 82:5;Ezek. 30:4the foundations are destroyed,

what can the righteous do?*11:3 Or for the foundations will be destroyed; what has the righteous done?

the Lord’s *Ps. 2:4;Isa. 66:1;Matt. 5:34;23:22;Acts 7:49throne is in heaven;

his eyes see, his eyelids *See Job 23:10test the children of man.

5 The Lord*Gen. 22:1;James 1:12tests the righteous,

but *Ps. 5:5his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.

6 Let him rain coals on the wicked;

*Gen. 19:24;Job 18:15;Ezek. 38:22fire and sulfur and a scorching wind shall be *Ps. 75:8;[Job 21:20]the portion of their cup.

7 For the Lord is righteous;

he *See Ps. 33:5loves righteous deeds;

*[Ps. 17:15;140:13;1 John 3:2;Rev. 22:4]the upright shall behold his face.
