Let Us Go to the House of the Lord

1 I was glad when they said to me,

*Isa. 2:3;Mic. 4:2;Zech. 8:21"Let us go to the house of the Lord!"

2 Our feet have been standing

within your gates, O Jerusalem!

3 Jerusalem—*Ps. 147:2built as a city

that is *Neh. 4:6bound firmly together,

4 to which the tribes *Deut. 16:16go up,

the tribes of the Lord,

as was *Ps. 78:5decreed for*122:4 Or as a testimony for Israel,

to give thanks to the name of the Lord.

5 There *Deut. 17:8;2 Sam. 15:2;1 Kgs. 3:16;7:7;2 Chr. 19:8thrones for judgment were set,

the thrones of the house of David.

6 *[Ps. 51:18;Jer. 29:7]Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!

"May they be secure who love you!

7 Peace be within your *Ps. 48:13walls

and security within your *Ps. 48:13towers!"

8 For my brothers and companions’ sake

9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
