Psalm 147

He Heals the Brokenhearted

1 *See Ps. 135:1Praise the Lord!

For *Ps. 92:1it is good to sing praises to our God;

2 The Lord*Ps. 51:18;102:16builds up Jerusalem;

he *Deut. 30:3;Isa. 11:12;27:13;56:8;Ezek. 39:28gathers the outcasts of Israel.

3 He heals *Ps. 34:18the brokenhearted

and *Ezek. 34:16binds up their wounds.

4 He *[Gen. 15:5] determines the number of the stars;

he *Isa. 40:26gives to all of them their names.

5 *Ps. 48:1Great is our Lord, and *Nah. 1:3abundant in power;

he casts the wicked to the ground.

and to *See Job 38:41the young ravens that cry.

10 His delight is not in *Ps. 33:17the strength of the horse,

nor his pleasure in the legs of a man,

11 but the Lord*Ps. 149:4takes pleasure in those who fear him,

in those who *Ps. 33:18hope in his steadfast love.

12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem!

Praise your God, O Zion!

13 For he strengthens *Neh. 7:3the bars of your gates;

he blesses your children within you.

14 He *Ex. 34:24;Prov. 16:7;Isa. 60:17,18makes peace in your borders;

he *Ps. 132:15fills you with the *Ps. 81:16;Deut. 32:14finest of the wheat.

15 He *[Ps. 148:8]sends out his command to the earth;

his word runs swiftly.

he scatters *[Job 38:29]frost like ashes.

17 He hurls down his crystals of *Job 37:10ice like crumbs;

who can stand before his *Job 37:9cold?

he makes his wind blow and the waters flow.

19 He declares his word to Jacob,
