Great Are the Lord’s Works
1 111:1 This psalm is an acrostic poem, each line beginning with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet See Ps. 104:35Praise the Lord!
I Ps. 138:1will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart,
in the company of [Ps. 149:1]the upright, in the congregation.
2 Great are the Ps. 92:5;Rev. 3:2;[Ps. 139:14] works of the Lord,
Ps. 119:45,94,155;[Ps. 112:1;143:5]studied by all who delight in them.
3 Ps. 145:5Full of splendor and majesty is his work,
and his Ps. 112:3,9righteousness endures forever.
4 He has [Ps. 78:4]caused his wondrous works to be remembered;
the Lord is gracious and merciful.
5 He provides food for those who fear him;
he See Ps. 105:8remembers his covenant forever.
6 He has shown his people the power of his works,
in giving them the inheritance of the nations.
7 The works of his hands are faithful and just;
all his precepts are Ps. 93:5;[Ps. 19:7]trustworthy;
8 they are Isa. 40:8;Matt. 5:18established forever and ever,
to be performed with Ps. 19:9;Rev. 15:3faithfulness and uprightness.
9 He sent [Matt. 1:21]; Luke 1:68redemption to his people;
he has [Ps. 133:3] commanded his covenant forever.
