In You Do I Take Refuge

1 O Lord my God, in you do I *See Ps. 11:1take refuge;

*Ps. 31:15save me from all my pursuers and deliver me,

2 lest like *See Job 10:16a lion they tear my soul apart,

rending it in pieces, with *Ps. 50:22none to deliver.

3 O Lord my God, *[2 Sam. 16:7,8] if I have done this,

if there is *1 Sam. 24:11;26:18;[Ps. 59:3]wrong in my hands,

4 if I have repaid *Ps. 55:20my friend*7:4 Hebrew the one at peace with me with evil

or *1 Sam. 24:7;26:9plundered my enemy without cause,

5 let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it,

7 Let the assembly of the peoples be gathered about you;

over it return on high.

and according to the integrity that is in me.

9 Oh, let the evil of the wicked come to an end,

and may you establish the righteous—

13 he has prepared for him his deadly weapons,

and gives birth to lies.

and falls into the hole that he has made.

and on his own skull his violence descends.

17 I will give to the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness,

and I will *Ps. 9:2sing praise to the name of the Lord, the Most High.
