Trust in the Name of the Lord Our God

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.

1 May the Lord*[Gen. 35:3] answer you in the day of trouble!

May *Prov. 18:10the name of the God of Jacob *Ps. 59:1;69:29protect you!

2 May he send you help from *Ps. 73:17;2 Chr. 20:8the sanctuary

and give you support from *Ps. 128:5Zion!

3 May he *[Acts 10:4]remember all your offerings

and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices! Selah

4 May he *Ps. 21:2grant you your heart’s desire

and fulfill all your plans!

5 May we shout for joy over *Ps. 9:14your salvation,

and in the name of our God set up our *Ps. 60:4;Song 6:4,10banners!

May the Lord fulfill all your petitions!

6 Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed;

he will answer him from his holy heaven

with *[Ps. 28:8]the saving might of his right hand.

7 Some trust in *Isa. 31:1;36:9chariots and some in *Prov. 21:31horses,

*[1 Sam. 17:45;2 Chr. 32:8]but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

8 They collapse and fall,

but we rise and stand upright.

9 O Lord, save *Ps. 48:2the king!

May he answer us when we call.
