How Long, O Lord?
A Psalm of #Ps. 50, titleAsaph.
1 O God, Lam. 1:10the nations have come into your Ex. 15:17;See Ps. 74:2inheritance;
they have defiled your [Ps. 74:7] holy temple;
they have Jer. 26:18;Mic. 3:12;[2 Kgs. 25:9,10]; 2 Chr. 36:19laid Jerusalem in ruins.
2 They have given Deut. 28:26;Jer. 7:33;16:4;19:7;34:20the bodies of your servants
to the birds of the heavens for food,
the flesh of your See Ps. 50:5faithful to Ps. 74:19the beasts of the earth.
3 They have poured out their blood like water
all around Jerusalem,
and there was Jer. 14:16;[2 Kgs. 9:10]no one to bury them.
4 We have become Dan. 9:16;See Ps. 44:13a taunt to our neighbors,
Dan. 9:16;See Ps. 44:13mocked and derided by those around us.
5 [Ps. 74:10;80:4] How long, O Lord? Will you be angry [Ps. 74:1;85:5]; See Ps. 13:1forever?
Will your Ps. 78:58jealousy Ps. 78:21;89:46burn like fire?
6 Cited Jer. 10:25;[Zeph. 3:8] Pour out your anger on the nations
that 2 Thess. 1:8do not know you,
and on the kingdoms
that See Ps. 14:4do not call upon your name!
7 For they have devoured Jacob
and laid waste his habitation.
8 Isa. 64:9Do not remember against us Jer. 11:10our former iniquities;79:8 Or the iniquities of former generations
let your compassion come speedily to meet us,
for we are Ps. 116:6;142:6brought very low.
9 2 Chr. 14:11Help us, O God of our salvation,
for the glory of your name;
deliver us, and See Ps. 65:3atone for our sins,
for your Jer. 14:7,21;See Ps. 23:3name’s sake!
10 See Ps. 42:3Why should the nations say,
"Where is their God?"
Let See Ps. 94:1the avenging of the outpoured blood of your servants
be known among the nations before our eyes!
11 Let Ps. 102:20the groans of the prisoners come before you;
according to your great power, preserve those [1 Sam. 20:31]doomed to die!
12 Return Gen. 4:15,24;Lev. 26:21,28;Prov. 6:31sevenfold into the Isa. 65:6,7;Jer. 32:18lap of our neighbors

will Isa. 43:21give thanks to you forever;
from generation to generation we will recount your praise.
