I Will Recount Your Wonderful Deeds

# 9:1 Psalms 9 and 10 together follow an acrostic pattern, each stanza beginning with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet. In the Septuagint they form one psalm To the choirmaster: according to Muth-labben.#9:1 Probably a musical or liturgical term A Psalm of David.

1 I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;

I will recount all of your Ps. 26:7;40:5;96:3;105:5wonderful deeds.

2 I will be glad and Ps. 5:11exult in you;

I will Ps. 7:17sing praise to your name, See Ps. 83:18O Most High.

3 When my enemies turn back,

they stumble and perish before9:3 Or because of your presence.

4 For you have Ps. 140:12maintained my just cause;

you have Ps. 29:10sat on the throne, giving righteous judgment.

5 You have Ps. 68:30rebuked the nations; you have made the wicked perish;

you have Deut. 9:14;29:20;[Prov. 10:7]blotted out their name forever and ever.

6 The enemy came to an end in everlasting ruins;

their cities you rooted out;

the very memory of them has perished.

7 But the Lord sits enthroned forever;

he has established his throne for justice,

8 and he Ps. 58:11;96:13;98:9judges the world with righteousness;

he Ps. 96:10judges the peoples with uprightness.

9 The Lord is 2 Sam. 22:3;[Prov. 18:10] a stronghold for Ps. 10:18;74:21the oppressed,

a stronghold in Ps. 10:1times of trouble.

10 And those who Ps. 91:14know your name put their trust in you,

for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.

11 Sing praises to the Lord, who Ps. 76:2sits enthroned in Zion!

Tell among the peoples his Ps. 77:12;[Ps. 107:22]deeds!

12 For he who Gen. 9:5;[Ps. 10:13]; See 1 Kgs. 21:17-19avenges blood is mindful of them;

he ver. 18;Ps. 10:12;[Ps. 12:5]does not forget the cry of the afflicted.

13 Ps. 4:1Be gracious to me, O Lord!

See my affliction from those who hate me,

O you who lift me up from See Job 38:17the gates of death,

14 that I may recount all your praises,

that in the gates of 2 Kgs. 19:21;Isa. 37:22the daughter of Zion

I may Ps. 13:5;20:5;21:1;35:9;1 Sam. 2:1rejoice in your salvation.

15 The nations have sunk in See Ps. 7:15the pit that they made;

in See Job 18:8the net that they hid, their own foot has been caught.

16 The Lord has made himself Ex. 7:5;14:4known; he has executed judgment;

18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten,

let the nations be judged before you!

20 Put them in fear, O Lord!
