1 ALLELUIA. Anima mia, loda il Signore.

2 Io loderò il Signore, mentre viverò; Io salmeggerò al mio Dio, mentre durerò.

3 Non vi confidate in principi, Nè in alcun figliuol d’uomo, che non ha modo di salvare.

4 Il suo fiato uscirà, ed egli se ne ritornerà nella sua terra; In quel dì periranno i suoi disegni

5 Beato colui che ha l’Iddio di Giacobbe in suo aiuto, La cui speranza è nel Signore Iddio suo

6 Il quale ha fatto il cielo e la terra, Il mare, e tutto ciò ch’è in essi; Che osserva la fede in eterno;

7 Il qual fa ragione agli oppressati; E dà del cibo agli affamati. Il Signore scioglie i prigioni.

8 Il Signore apre gli occhi a’ ciechi; Il Signore rileva quelli che son chinati; Il Signore ama i giusti.

9 Il Signore guarda i forestieri; Egli solleva l’orfano e la vedova; E sovverte la via degli empi.

10 Il Signore regna in eterno, E il tuo Dio, o Sion, per ogni età. Alleluia

2 As long as I live will I praise Jehovah; I will sing psalms unto my God while I have my being.

3 Put not confidence in nobles, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.

4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his purposes perish.

5 Blessed is he who hath the *God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Jehovah his God,

6 Who made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is therein; who keepeth truth for ever;

7 Who executeth judgment for the oppressed, who giveth bread to the hungry. Jehovah looseth the prisoners;

8 Jehovah openeth {the eyes of} the blind; Jehovah raiseth up them that are bowed down; Jehovah loveth the righteous;

9 Jehovah preserveth the strangers; he lifteth up the fatherless and the widow; but the way of the wicked doth he subvert.

10 Jehovah will reign for ever, {even} thy God, O Zion, from generation to generation. Hallelujah!
