1 Αυτές είναι οι γενεαλογίες των γιων του Νώε, δηλαδή του Σημ, του Χαμ και του Ιάφεθ, από τους γιους που αυτοί απέκτησαν μετά τον κατακλυσμό.

2 Απόγονοι του Ιάφεθ ήταν οι Γόμερ, Μαγώγ, Μαδαΐ, Ιαυάν, Τουβάλ, Μεσέχ και Θειράς. 3 Απόγονοι του Γόμερ ήταν οι Ασκενάζ, Ριφάθ και Θωγαρμά. 4 Απόγονοι του Ιαυάν ήταν οι Ελισά, Θαρσείς, Κίτιοι και Δωδανίμ. 5 Απ’ αυτούς*απ’ αυτούς. Ή: «Αυτοί είναι οι απόγονοι του Ιάφεθ. Απ’ αυτούς» κατά το κεφ. 10:20-31. προήλθαν οι παράκτιοι λαοί σε διάφορες χώρες· κάθε λαός με την ιδιαίτερη γλώσσα του και τη φυλή του, διαφοροποιήθηκαν σε έθνη.

6 Οι γιοι του Χαμ ήταν ο Χους, ο Μισραΐμ, ο Φουτ και ο Χαναάν –γενάρχες των αντίστοιχων λαών. 7 Απόγονοι του Χους ήταν οι λαοί Σεβά, Ευειλά, Σαβτά, Ραγμά και Σαβτεχά· απόγονοι του Ραγμά ήταν οι λαοί Σεβά και Δεδάν.

8 Ο Χους απέκτησε το Νεμρώδ. Αυτός ήταν ο πρώτος κατακτητής πάνω στη γη. 9 Ήταν γενναίος κυνηγός ενώπιον του Κυρίου. Γι’ αυτό συνηθίζεται να λέγεται: «Γενναίος κυνηγός ενώπιον του Κυρίου, όπως ο Νεμρώδ». 10 Η πρώτη περιοχή της κυριαρχίας του ήταν η Βαβέλ, η Έρεχ, η Αχάδ και η Χαλνή στη χώρα Σεναάρ. 11 Από ’κει έφυγε και πήγε στην Ασσούρ, όπου έχτισε τη Νινευή, τη Ρεχωβώθ-Είρ, την Κάλαχ 12 και τη Ρεσέν, ανάμεσα στη Νινευή και στη μεγάλη πόλη Κάλαχ.

13 Από τον Μισραΐμ προήλθαν οι λαοί: Λουδίμ, Ανανίμ, Λεεβίμ, Ναφτουχίμ, 14 Πατρουσίμ, Κασλουχίμ και οι Καφθωρίμ, από τους οποίους προήλθαν οι Φιλισταίοι.

15 Ο Χαναάν απέκτησε τον Σιδώνα, που ήταν ο πρωτότοκος, και το Χετταίο –γενάρχες των αντίστοιχων λαών. 16 Επιπλέον από το Χαναάν προήλθαν οι Ιεβουσαίοι, οι Αμορραίοι, οι Γεργεσαίοι, 17 οι Ευαίοι, οι Αρουκαίοι, οι Ασενναίοι, 18 οι Αραδαίοι, οι Σεμαραίοι και οι Αμαθαίοι. Στη συνέχεια διαχωρίστηκαν οι φυλές των Χαναναίων, 19 που τα όριά τους έφταναν από τη Σιδώνα προς τα Γέραρα ως τη Γάζα, και προς τα Σόδομα και Γόμορρα, Αδαμά και Σεβωίμ ως τη Λασά.

20 Αυτοί ήταν οι γιοι του Χαμ κατά τις φυλές τους, καθεμιά στις χώρες τους με τις ιδιαίτερες γλώσσες τους.

21 Ο Σημ, ο μεγαλύτερος αδερφός του Ιάφεθ, είναι ο γενάρχης όλων των Εβραίων. 22 Γιοι του Σημ ήταν οι Αιλάμ, Ασσούρ, Αρφαξάδ, Λουδ και Αράμ –γενάρχες των αντίστοιχων λαών. 23 Απόγονοι του Αράμ ήταν οι λαοί Ουτς, Ουλ, Γεθέρ και Μας. 24 Ο Αρφαξάδ απέκτησε το Σελάχ και ο Σελάχ τον Έβερ. 25 Ο Έβερ απέκτησε δύο γιους: Ο ένας ονομαζόταν Πελέγ, επειδή στην εποχή του διαιρέθηκε η ανθρωπότητα, και ο αδερφός του ονομαζόταν Ιεκτάν.*Πελέγ. Στα εβρ. ακούγεται όπως η λ. «διαίρεση». – η ανθρωπότητα. Κατά λ. «η γη».26 Ο Ιεκτάν απέκτησε τον Αλμωδάδ, το Σαλέφ, τον Ασαρμαβέθ, τον Ιαράχ, 27 τον Αδωράμ, τον Ουζάλ, το Δικλά, 28 τον Οβάλ, τον Αβιμαήλ, το Σεβά, 29 τον Οφείρ, τον Ευειλά και τον Ιωβάβ. Όλοι αυτοί ήταν απόγονοι του Ιεκτάν. 30 Κατοικούσαν απ’ τη Μισά ως τη Σεφαρά των ανατολικών ορέων. 31 Αυτοί ήταν οι απόγονοι του Σημ κατά τις φυλές τους, καθεμιά στις χώρες τους, με τις ιδιαίτερες γλώσσες τους.

32 Αυτές είναι οι φυλές των γιων του Νώε, από τις οποίες προήλθαν οι διάφοροι λαοί. Από αυτούς, μετά τον κατακλυσμό, εξαπλώθηκαν οι λαοί πάνω στη γη.

6 And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan. 7 And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan. 8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. 9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD. 10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.*10.10 Babel: Gr. Babylon 11 Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,*10.11 went…: or, he went out into Assyria*10.11 the city…: or, the streets of the city 12 And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city. 13 And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim, 14 And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.

15 And Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,*10.15 Sidon: Heb. Tzidon 16 And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite, 17 And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite, 18 And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad. 19 And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.*10.19 Gaza: Heb. Azzah 20 These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.

21 Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born. 22 The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.*10.22 Arphaxad: Heb. Arpachshad 23 And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash. 24 And Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber.*10.24 Salah: Heb. Shelah 25 And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.*10.25 Peleg: that is Division 26 And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah, 27 And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah, 28 And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba, 29 And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan. 30 And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east. 31 These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations. 32 These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.
