Não ficará sem castigo aquele que se alegra com a desgraça alheia.6 Para uma pessoa, os seus netos são como que a sua coroa de glória, tal como para um filho o é também seu pai.7 Normalmente, não se espera ouvir coisas sensatas da boca dum louco, assim como dum governante não contamos que falte à verdade.8 Muitas vezes os presentes funcionam, no fundo, como a chave mágica de muitas situações, servindo de muito para quem os utiliza!9 A amizade faz esquecer muita coisa mal feita. Mas os que andam sempre a discutir são capazes de separar os melhores amigos.10 A repreeensão dada a uma pessoa sensata atinge muito mais eficazmente os seus objectivos do que cem açoites aplicados a um insensato.11 Os perversos vivem só para fazer o mal, por isso não deixarão de ter alguém que os castigue severamente.12 Será menos perigoso ter um encontro com uma ursa enfurecida por lhe terem roubado os filhotes, do que com um doido num acesso de fúria.13 Para quem paga o bem com o mal haverá sempre maldição na sua casa.14 É difícil parar uma disputa depois de começada; por isso o melhor é evitá-la antes de se ficar envolvido nela.15 O Senhor repudia tanto os que fecham os olhos às culpas dos maus como os que condenam os justos.16 De que serve gastar dinheiro em educar um tolo que não deseja alcançar sabedoria?17 Um verdadeiro amigo é sempre leal, e é nos momentos difíceis que se conhecem os amigos fiéis.18 É prova de pouco juízo ficar por fiador doutra pessoa e responsabilizar-se pelas suas dívidas.19 Os pecadores gostam das discussões e da violência; e quem se exalta procura a ruína.20 Um espírito perverso nunca será feliz, tal como aquele cujas intenções são desonestas.21 Triste coisa é ser-se pai dum filho insensato e desobediente.22 Um coração alegre faz o mesmo efeito dum bom remédio, mas um espírito abatido torna todo o corpo doente.23 É pecado aceitar presentes para torcer a justiça.24 A sabedoria vê-se no rosto das pessoas sensatas. Os loucos, quando se tornam ambiciosos, chegam a querer para si a terra inteira!25 Um filho insensato é um desgosto para o seu pai, é a amargura para quem o deu à luz!26 É uma coisa extremamente mal feita quando os governantes castigam os justos e punem os que agem com honestidade.27 As pessoas entendidas, que têm conhecimento da vida, sabem quando devem calar-se.28 Por isso até o tolo é capaz de passar por esperto, quando sabe ficar quieto; e quando cala a boca, até pode ser tomado por inteligente!
