O rebento da raiz de Jessé

1 Então, *Is 11.10;9.7;At 13.23do tronco de Jessé sairá *Is 4.2;53.2um rebento, e das suas raízes sairá *Is 6.13;Jr 23.5;Zc 3.8um renovo que dará fruto. 2 Descansará sobre ele o *Is 42.1;48.16;61.1;Mt 3.16;Jo 1.32Espírito de Jeová, Espírito de *Jo 16.13;1Co 1.30;Ef 1.17-18sabedoria e de entendimento, Espírito de conselho e de *2Tm 1.7fortaleza, espírito de conhecimento e de temor a Jeová, 3 e terá o seu prazer no temor a Jeová. Não julgará segundo *Jo 2.25;7.24a vista dos seus olhos, nem reprovará segundo o ouvir dos seus ouvidos; 4 porém com *Is 9.7;16.5;32.1justiça julgará os *Is 3.14;Sl 72.2,14necessitados, e com equidade reprovará em defesa dos *Is 29.19;32.7;61.1mansos da terra. Ferirá a terra com *Is 49.2;Sl 2.9;Ml 4.6a vara da sua boca e matará ao perverso com o *Is 30.28,33;Jó 4.9;2Ts 2.8assopro dos seus lábios. 5 *Ef 6.14A justiça será o cinto dos seus lombos, e *Is 25.1a fidelidade, o cinto dos seus rins.

6 O *Is 65.25lobo habitará com o cordeiro, e o leopardo se deitará ao pé do cabrito; o bezerro, o leão novo e o animal cevado andarão juntos, e um menino pequenino os conduzirá. 7 A vaca e a ursa pastarão, as suas crias se deitarão juntas, e *Is 65.25o leão comerá palha como o boi. 8 A criança de peito brincará sobre a toca do áspide, e a criança desmamada meterá a mão na cova do basilisco. 9 Não *Is 65.25;Jó 5.23;Ez 34.25;Os 2.18farão dano, nem destruirão em todo o meu santo monte, porque *Is 45.6;52.10;66.18-23;Sl 98.2-3;Hc 2.14a terra será cheia do conhecimento de Jeová, assim como as águas cobrem *Is 48.18o mar.

10 Naquele dia, *Is 11.1;Rm 15.12a raiz de Jessé, que está posta por *Is 11.12;49.22;62.10;Jo 3.14-15;12.32estandarte dos povos, a ele *Lc 2.32;At 11.18recorrerão as nações, e o *Is 14.3;28.12;30.15;32.17-18;Jr 6.16;Ag 2.9lugar do seu repouso será glorioso.

11 Naquele dia, Jeová tornará a estender a sua mão outra vez para adquirir o *Is 1.9;10.20-22;37.4,31-32;46.3resto do seu povo, que for deixado, da *Is 19.23-25;Os 11.11;Zc 10.10Assíria, e *Is 19.21-22;Mq 7.12do Egito, e de Patros, e de Cuxe, e de *Gn 10.22;14.1Elão, e de Sinear, e de Hamate, e *Is 24.15;42.4,10,12;49.1;51.5;60.9;66.19das ilhas do mar. 12 Levantará um *Is 11.10estandarte para as nações, *Is 56.8;Sf 3.10;Zc 10.6congregará os expulsos de Israel e ajuntará os dispersos de Judá desde *Is 24.16os quatro confins da terra. 13 *Is 9.21;Jr 3.18;Ez 37.16-17,22;Os 1.11O ciúme de Efraim será removido, e serão extirpados os adversários de Judá. Efraim não terá ciúmes de Judá, e Judá não será adversário de Efraim. 14 Eles, *Jr 48.40;49.22;Hc 1.8voando, descerão sobre o ombro dos filisteus, ao *Is 9.12ocidente; juntos, *Jr 49.28despojarão os filhos do Oriente; estenderão as suas mãos sobre *Is 63.1;Dn 11.41;Jl 3.19;Am 9.12Edom e *Is 16.14;25.10Moabe, e os filhos de Amom *Is 14.2;2Sm 12.26-29lhes obedecerão. 15 Jeová *Is 43.16;44.27;50.2;51.10-11destruirá totalmente a língua do mar do Egito; com o seu vento abrasador, *Is 19.16levantará a mão sobre o *Is 7.20;8.7rio, feri-lo-á, dividindo-o em sete canais, e fará que por ele passem a pé enxuto. 16 Haverá uma *Is 19.23;35.8;40.3;62.10estrada para o *Is 11.11resto do seu povo que tiver escapado da Assíria, assim como houve para Israel *Êx 14.26-29no dia em que saiu da terra do Egito.

1 A shoot will come out of the stock of Jesse,

and a branch out of his roots will bear fruit.

2 Yahweh’s Spirit will rest on him:

the spirit of wisdom and understanding,

the spirit of counsel and might,

the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Yahweh.

3 His delight will be in the fear of Yahweh.

He will not judge by the sight of his eyes,

neither decide by the hearing of his ears;

4 but he will judge the poor with righteousness,

and decide with equity for the humble of the earth.

He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth;

and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.

5 Righteousness will be the belt around his waist,

and faithfulness the belt around his waist.

6 The wolf will live with the lamb,

and the leopard will lie down with the young goat,

the calf, the young lion, and the fattened calf together;

and a little child will lead them.

7 The cow and the bear will graze.

Their young ones will lie down together.

The lion will eat straw like the ox.

8 The nursing child will play near a cobra’s hole,

and the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.

9 They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain;

for the earth will be full of the knowledge of Yahweh,

as the waters cover the sea.

10 It will happen in that day that the nations will seek the root of Jesse, who stands as a banner of the peoples; and his resting place will be glorious.

11 It will happen in that day that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. 12 He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. 13 The envy also of Ephraim will depart, and those who persecute Judah will be cut off. Ephraim won’t envy Judah, and Judah won’t persecute Ephraim. 14 They will fly down on the shoulders of the Philistines on the west. Together they will plunder the children of the east. They will extend their power over Edom and Moab, and the children of Ammon will obey them. 15 Yahweh will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his scorching wind he will wave his hand over the River, and will split it into seven streams, and cause men to march over in sandals. 16 There will be a highway for the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, like there was for Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
