Cântico de confiança na proteção de Jeová

1 *Is 4.2;12.1Naquele dia, se cantará este cântico na terra de Judá: Temos uma *Is 14.31;31.5,9;33.5-6,20-24cidade forte; Deus põe-lhe a *Is 60.18salvação por muros e baluartes. 2 Abri vós *Is 60.11,18;62.10as portas, para que entre a *Is 45.25;54.14,17;58.8;60.21;61.3;62.1-2nação justa que observa a verdade. 3 Tu conservarás em *Is 26.12;27.5;57.19;66.12perfeita paz aquele cujo propósito é firme, porque em ti confia. 4 *Is 12.2;50.10;51.5Confiai sempre em Jeová. Pois em Jeová há uma *Is 17.10;30.29;44.8rocha sempiterna. 5 Ele tem derrubado os que habitavam no alto, a saber, *Is 25.12a cidade elevada; *Jó 40.11-13abate-a, abate-a até a terra e a reduz até o pó. 6 *Is 28.3Pisá-la-á o pé: os pés dos pobres e os passos dos *Is 3.14-15;11.4;29.19necessitados. 7 *Is 57.2A vereda do justo é plana; *Is 42.16;52.12;Sl 25.4-5;27.11nivelas, fazendo-a plana, a vereda do justo.

8 Também por ti, Jeová, temos esperado no caminho *Is 51.4;56.1dos teus juízos; *Is 26.13;12.4;24.15;25.1o teu nome e *Êx 3.15o teu memorial são a saudade da nossa alma. 9 Com a minha alma tenho tido *Is 50.10;Sl 63.5-6;77.2;119.62;Lc 6.12de noite saudades de ti, sim, com o meu espírito dentro de mim *Is 55.6;Sl 63.1;78.34;Mt 6.33te buscarei diligentemente; porque, quando os teus juízos ferirem a terra, os habitantes do mundo *Os 5.15aprenderão a justiça. 10 Ainda que se mostre ao perverso, ele, contudo, *Is 22.12-13;32.6-7não aprenderá a justiça; na terra da retidão, *Os 11.7;Jo 5.37-38cometerá iniquidade e não verá a majestade de Jeová.

11 A tua mão, Jeová, está levantada; *Is 5.12;44.9,18contudo, eles não veem; porém verão o *Is 9.7;37.32;59.17teu zelo pelo povo e se envergonharão; *Is 5.24;9.18-19;10.17;66.15,24o fogo devorará os teus adversários. 12 Jeová, tu hás de estabelecer *Is 26.3para nós a paz; porque tu és o que *Is 19.25;29.23;45.11;60.21;64.8fizeste para nós todas as nossas obras. 13 Ó Jeová, Deus nosso, *Is 2.8;10.11outros senhores além de ti têm tido o domínio sobre nós; porém por teu intermédio somente *Is 63.7celebraremos o teu nome. 14 *Is 8.19;Dt 4.28;Sl 135.17;Hc 2.19Os mortos não tornarão a viver; as sombras não ressuscitarão, porque os *Is 10.3visitaste, destruíste e fizeste perecer toda a memória deles. 15 *Is 9.3Tens aumentado a nação, Jeová, tens aumentado a nação, tens obtido para ti a glória; tens *Is 33.17;54.2-3estendido todos os confins da terra.

16 *Is 37.3;Os 5.15Na angústia, eles te buscaram, Jeová; derramaram orações, quando lhes sobreveio a tua correção. 17 *Is 13.8;21.3;Jo 16.21Assim como a mulher grávida a quem se aproxima o tempo de dar à luz, tem dores e dá gritos nas suas dores, assim nos temos tornado diante de ti, Jeová. 18 Nós concebemos, estivemos com dores de parto, foi como se tivéssemos *Is 33.11;59.4dado à luz o vento; não produzimos na terra livramento algum, nem nasceram os moradores do mundo. 19 *Is 25.8;Ez 37.1-14;Dn 12.2;Os 13.14Os teus mortos viverão; os meus cadáveres ressuscitarão. *Ef 5.14Despertai e cantai, vós os que habitais no pó; porque o teu orvalho é como o orvalho das ervas, e a terra lançará de si os mortos.

20 Vem, povo meu, *Êx 12.22-23;Sl 91.1,4entra nas tuas câmaras e fecha as tuas portas sobre ti; esconde-te por *Is 54.7-8;Sl 30.5;2Co 4.17um pouco, até *Is 10.5,25;13.5;34.2;66.14que passe a indignação. 21 Pois eis que Jeová *Mq 1.3;Jd 14sai do seu lugar *Is 13.11;22.14;30.13-14;65.7para castigar os habitantes da terra por causa da sua iniquidade. Também a terra *Jó 16.18;Lc 11.50descobrirá o seu sangue e não cobrirá mais os seus mortos.

1 In that day, this song will be sung in the land of Judah:

"We have a strong city.

God appoints salvation for walls and bulwarks.

2 Open the gates, that the righteous nation may enter:

the one which keeps faith.

3 You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace,

because he trusts in you.

4 Trust in Yahweh forever;

for in Yah, Yahweh, is an everlasting Rock.

5 For he has brought down those who dwell on high, the lofty city.

He lays it low.

He lays it low even to the ground.

He brings it even to the dust.

6 The foot shall tread it down,

even the feet of the poor

and the steps of the needy."

7 The way of the just is uprightness.

You who are upright make the path of the righteous level.

8 Yes, in the way of your judgments, Yahweh, we have waited for you.

Your name and your renown are the desire of our soul.

9 With my soul I have desired you in the night.

Yes, with my spirit within me I will seek you earnestly;

for when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.

10 Let favor be shown to the wicked,

yet he will not learn righteousness.

In the land of uprightness he will deal wrongfully,

and will not see Yahweh’s majesty.

11 Yahweh, your hand is lifted up, yet they don’t see;

but they will see your zeal for the people and be disappointed.

Yes, fire will consume your adversaries.

12 Yahweh, you will ordain peace for us,

for you have also done all our work for us.

13 Yahweh our God, other lords besides you have had dominion over us,

but we will only acknowledge your name.

14 The dead shall not live.

The departed spirits shall not rise.

Therefore you have visited and destroyed them,

and caused all memory of them to perish.

15 You have increased the nation, O Yahweh.

You have increased the nation!

You are glorified!

You have enlarged all the borders of the land.

16 Yahweh, in trouble they have visited you.

They poured out a prayer when your chastening was on them.

17 Just as a woman with child, who draws near the time of her delivery,

is in pain and cries out in her pangs,

so we have been before you, Yahweh.

18 We have been with child.

We have been in pain.

We gave birth, it seems, only to wind.

We have not worked any deliverance in the earth;

neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.

19 Your dead shall live.

Their dead bodies shall arise.

Awake and sing, you who dwell in the dust;

for your dew is like the dew of herbs,

and the earth will cast out the departed spirits.

20 Come, my people, enter into your rooms,

and shut your doors behind you.

Hide yourself for a little moment,

until the indignation is past.

21 For, behold, Yahweh comes out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity.

The earth also will disclose her blood, and will no longer cover her slain.
