Isaías 38

A doença de Ezequias e a sua cura maravilhosa

1 *Is 38.1-8;2Rs 20.1-6,9-11;2Cr 32.24Naqueles dias, adoeceu Ezequias de morte. *Is 1.1;37.2O profeta Isaías, filho de Amoz, veio ter com ele e disse-lhe: Assim diz Jeová: *2Sm 17.23Ordena a tua casa, porque morrerás e não viverás. 2 Então, Ezequias virou o rosto para a parede e orou a Jeová, 3 dizendo: *Ne 13.14Lembra-te, agora, Jeová, de como *2Rs 18.5-6;Sl 26.3andei diante de ti em verdade e com *1Cr 28.9;29.19um coração perfeito e de como *Dt 6.18fiz o que é do teu agrado. *Sl 6.6-8Derramou Ezequias grande cópia de lágrimas. 4 Então, veio a Isaías a palavra de Jeová, dizendo: 5 Vai e dize a Ezequias: Assim diz Jeová, Deus de teu pai Davi: Ouvi a tua oração e vi as tuas lágrimas; eis que acrescentarei aos teus dias *2Rs 18.2,13quinze anos. 6 Das mãos do rei da Assíria *Is 31.5;37.35te livrarei a ti e a esta cidade; e defenderei esta cidade. 7 Isto te será o *Is 7.11,14;37.30;Jz 6.17,21,36-40sinal da parte de Jeová, de que Jeová cumprirá essa palavra que falou: 8 eis que *2Rs 20.9-11farei que volte dez degraus para trás a sombra sobre os degraus, a qual sombra tinha declinado sobre o relógio de Acaz com o giro do sol. Assim, voltou *Js 10.12-14o sol dez degraus sobre o relógio, pelos quais degraus tinha declinado.

Cântico de ação de graças de Ezequias

9 O escrito de Ezequias, rei de Judá, depois de ter estado doente e de ter convalescido da sua doença:

14 *Jó 30.29;Sl 102.6Como o grou ou a andorinha, assim eu chilreava;

eu *Is 59.11;Ez 7.16;Na 2.7gemia como a pomba; os meus *Sl 119.123olhos cansavam olhando para cima.

Oprimido estou, Jeová; sê tu o meu *Jó 17.3;Sl 119.122fiador.

15 *Sl 39.9Que hei de dizer? Ele me prometeu, foi ele mesmo que o cumpriu.

Andarei *1Rs 21.27a passos contados todos os meus anos, por causa da *Is 38.17;Jó 7.11;10.1amargura da minha vida.

16 Senhor, *Sl 119.71,75por essas coisas vivem os homens,

e inteiramente nelas está a vida do meu espírito.

Por isso, *Sl 39.13restabelece-me tu *Sl 119.25e faze-me viver.

17 Eis que foi para a minha paz que eu tive grande amargura;

tu, porém, amando a minha alma, *Sl 30.3;86.13;Jn 2.6a livraste da *Is 38.10cova da corrupção,

porque *Is 43.25;Jr 31.34;Mq 7.19lançaste para trás das minhas costas todos os meus pecados.

18 Pois *Sl 6.5;88.10-12;115.17;Ec 9.10o Sheol não te pode louvar,

a morte não te pode celebrar.

Os que descem *Nm 16.33;Sl 28.1à cova não podem esperar a tua verdade.

19 *Sl 118.17;119.175O que vive, o que vive, esse te louvará como eu o faço hoje;

*Dt 6.7;11.19;Sl 78.5-7o pai fará notória aos filhos a tua verdade.

20 Jeová está *Sl 86.5pronto para me salvar.

Por isso, tangendo os instrumentos de cordas, *Sl 33.1-3;68.24-26cantaremos os meus cânticos,

*Sl 104.33;116.2;146.2todos os dias da nossa vida, *Sl 116.17-19na Casa de Jeová.

21 Ora, *2Rs 20.7-8Isaías tinha dito: Tomem uma pasta de figos e ponham-na como cataplasma sobre a úlcera, e o rei recuperará a saúde. 22 Ezequias também tinha dito: Qual é o *Is 38.7sinal de que subirei à Casa de Jeová?

1 In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, came to him, and said to him, "Yahweh says, ‘Set your house in order, for you will die, and not live.’"

2 Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to Yahweh, 3 and said, "Remember now, Yahweh, I beg you, how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight." Then Hezekiah wept bitterly.

4 Then Yahweh’s word came to Isaiah, saying, 5 "Go, and tell Hezekiah, ‘Yahweh, the God of David your father, says, "I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Behold, I will add fifteen years to your life. 6 I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city. 7 This shall be the sign to you from Yahweh, that Yahweh will do this thing that he has spoken. 8 Behold, I will cause the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down on the sundial of Ahaz with the sun, to return backward ten steps."’" So the sun returned ten steps on the sundial on which it had gone down.

9 The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and had recovered of his sickness:

10 I said, "In the middle of my life I go into the gates of Sheol.*38:10 Sheol is the place of the dead.

I am deprived of the residue of my years."

11 I said, "I won’t see Yah,

Yah in the land of the living.

I will see man no more with the inhabitants of the world.

12 My dwelling is removed,

and is carried away from me like a shepherd’s tent.

I have rolled up my life like a weaver.

He will cut me off from the loom.

From day even to night you will make an end of me.

13 I waited patiently until morning.

He breaks all my bones like a lion.

From day even to night you will make an end of me.

14 I chattered like a swallow or a crane.

I moaned like a dove.

My eyes weaken looking upward.

Lord, I am oppressed.

Be my security."

15 What will I say?

He has both spoken to me, and himself has done it.

I will walk carefully all my years because of the anguish of my soul.

16 Lord, men live by these things;

and my spirit finds life in all of them.

You restore me, and cause me to live.

17 Behold, for peace I had great anguish,

but you have in love for my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption;

for you have cast all my sins behind your back.

18 For Sheol*38:18 Sheol is the place of the dead. can’t praise you.

Death can’t celebrate you.

Those who go down into the pit can’t hope for your truth.

19 The living, the living, he shall praise you, as I do today.

The father shall make known your truth to the children.

20 Yahweh will save me.

Therefore we will sing my songs with stringed instruments all the days of our life in Yahweh’s house.

21 Now Isaiah had said, "Let them take a cake of figs, and lay it for a poultice on the boil, and he shall recover." 22 Hezekiah also had said, "What is the sign that I will go up to Yahweh’s house?"
