Ezequiel 22

1 Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 2 "You, son of man, will you judge? Will you judge the bloody city? Then cause her to know all her abominations. 3 You shall say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: "A city that sheds blood within herself, that her time may come, and that makes idols against herself to defile her! 4 You have become guilty in your blood that you have shed, and are defiled in your idols which you have made! You have caused your days to draw near, and have come to the end of your years. Therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a mocking to all the countries. 5 Those who are near and those who are far from you will mock you, you infamous one, full of tumult.

6 "‘"Behold, the princes of Israel, everyone according to his power, have been in you to shed blood. 7 In you have they treated father and mother with contempt.*22:7 Literally, made light of father and mother. Among you they have oppressed the foreigner. In you they have wronged the fatherless and the widow. 8 You have despised my holy things, and have profaned my Sabbaths. 9 Slanderous men have been in you to shed blood. In you they have eaten on the mountains. They have committed lewdness among you. 10 In you have they uncovered their fathers’ nakedness. In you have they humbled her who was unclean in her impurity. 11 One has committed abomination with his neighbor’s wife, and another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law. Another in you has humbled his sister, his father’s daughter. 12 In you have they taken bribes to shed blood. You have taken interest and increase, and you have greedily gained of your neighbors by oppression, and have forgotten me," says the Lord Yahweh.

13 "‘"Behold, therefore I have struck my hand at your dishonest gain which you have made, and at the blood which has been shed within you. 14 Can your heart endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I will deal with you? I, Yahweh, have spoken it, and will do it. 15 I will scatter you among the nations, and disperse you through the countries. I will purge your filthiness out of you. 16 You will be profaned in yourself in the sight of the nations. Then you will know that I am Yahweh."’"

17 Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 18 "Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to me. All of them are bronze, tin, iron, and lead in the middle of the furnace. They are the dross of silver. 19 Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the middle of Jerusalem. 20 As they gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the middle of the furnace, to blow the fire on it, to melt it, so I will gather you in my anger and in my wrath, and I will lay you there and melt you. 21 Yes, I will gather you, and blow on you with the fire of my wrath, and you will be melted in the middle of it. 22 As silver is melted in the middle of the furnace, so you will be melted in the middle of it; and you will know that I, Yahweh, have poured out my wrath on you.’"

23 Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 24 "Son of man, tell her, ‘You are a land that is not cleansed nor rained on in the day of indignation.’ 25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets within it, like a roaring lion ravening the prey. They have devoured souls. They take treasure and precious things. They have made many widows within it. 26 Her priests have done violence to my law and have profaned my holy things. They have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they caused men to discern between the unclean and the clean, and have hidden their eyes from my Sabbaths. So I am profaned among them. 27 Her princes within it are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood and to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain. 28 Her prophets have plastered for them with whitewash, seeing false visions, and divining lies to them, saying, ‘The Lord Yahweh says,’ when Yahweh has not spoken. 29 The people of the land have used oppression and exercised robbery. Yes, they have troubled the poor and needy, and have oppressed the foreigner wrongfully.

30 "I sought for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I would not destroy it; but I found no one. 31 Therefore I have poured out my indignation on them. I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath. I have brought their own way on their heads," says the Lord Yahweh.

Jerusalems synder

1 Herrens ord kom till mig:

2 *Hes 9:9, 20:4, 23:26, 24:6, 9. "Män­niskobarn, vill du döma, vill du döma blodstaden? Ställ henne då inför alla hennes vidrigheter! 3 *2 Kung 21:16. Säg: Så säger Herren Gud: O stad, du som spiller dina invånares blod så att din stund måste komma, du som gör avgudar åt dig för att orena dig. 4 *5 Mos 28:37. Genom det blod du har spillt har du dragit på dig skuld, och genom de avgudar du har gjort har du orenat dig. Så har du påskyndat dina dagars slut och nu kommit till slutet av dina år. Därför ska jag låta dig bli till hån för hednafolken och till åtlöje för alla länder. 5 Både nära och fjärran ska man håna dig, du vars namn är smädat, du förvirringens stad.

6 Se, var och en av furstarna i Israel har använt sin makt för att spilla blod. 7 *Jer 7:6. Hos dig föraktar man sin far och mor, och mot främlingen utövar man våld. Den faderlöse och änkan förtrycker man. 8 *Hes 20:12f. Mina heliga ting föraktar du, och mina sabbater vanhelgar du. 9 *Hes 18:6. Falska angivare finns hos dig, villiga att spilla blod. På bergen håller man offermåltider, och man begår skamliga ting hos dig. 10 *3 Mos 18:19, 20:14, 18. Man blottar sin fars kön hos dig, och man kränker kvinnan hos dig när hon har sin månadsblödning. 11 *Jer 5:8. Man begår avskyvärda ting med sin nästas hustru, och man orenar sin sonhust­ru. Andra kränker sin syster, sin fars dotter. 12 För mutor är man hos dig beredd att spilla blod. Du ockrar och tar oskälig ränta och plundrar din nästa med våld, och du glömmer mig, säger Herren Gud.

13 *Hes 21:14. Men se, jag slår ihop mina händer i vrede över de oärliga vinster du skaffar dig och över de blodsdåd som sker hos dig. 14 Menar du att ditt mod kan hållas uppe eller att dina händer är starka nog, när tiden kommer då jag griper in mot dig? Jag, Herren, har talat och jag fullbordar det också. 15 Jag ska skingra dig bland hednafolken och sprida ut dig i länderna. Så ska jag rensa bort all din orenhet ifrån dig. 16 Du ska bli vanärad*22:16Du ska bli vanäradAndra handskrifter: "Jag ska bli vanärad av dig". inför folken genom din egen skuld. Och du ska inse att jag är Herren."

17 Herrens ord kom till mig: 18 *Jes 1:22, Jer 6:28. "Män­niskobarn, Israels hus har för mig blivit slagg. De är allesammans koppar, tenn, järn och bly i smältugnen. Silverslagg har de blivit.

19 Därför säger Herren Gud så: Eftersom ni alla har blivit slagg, ska jag samla ihop er mitt i Jerusalem. 20 Som man samlar ihop silver, koppar, järn, bly och tenn mitt i ugnen och där blåser upp eld under det och smälter det, så ska jag samla ihop er i min vrede och harm och lägga er i ugnen och smälta er. 21 Jag ska samla ihop er och blåsa upp min vredes eld under er, så att ni smälts i den. 22 Som silver smälts i ugnen så ska ni smältas i den. Och ni ska inse att jag, Herren, öser min vrede över er."

23 Herrens ord kom till mig: 24 "Män­niskobarn, säg till dem: Du är ett land som inte har renats och inte har sköljts av regn på vredens dag. 25 *Mika 3:11, Mark 12:40. De profeter som finns där har sammansvurit sig och blivit som rytande, rovgiriga lejon. De slukar människor, de roffar åt sig gods och dyrbarheter och gör många till änkor i landet. 26 *3 Mos 10:10f, Jer 2:8, Hes 44:23, Sef 3:4. Prästerna kränker min lag och vanhelgar mina heliga ting. De skiljer inte mellan heligt och oheligt och undervisar inte om skillnaden mellan rent och orent. De blundar för mina sabbater, och så blir jag vanhelgad mitt ibland dem.

27 Furstarna i mitt folk är som rovgiriga vargar. De spiller blod och förgör människor för att skaffa sig oärlig vinst. 28 *Hes 13:10. De profeter de har tjänar dem som vitkalkare. De ser falska profetsyner åt dem och spår lögnaktiga spådomar åt dem. De säger: Så säger Herren Gud, fastän Herren inte har talat. 29 Folket i landet begår våldsgärningar och stjäl. Den nödställde och fattige förtrycker de, och mot främlingen utövar de våld utan lag och rätt.

30 *Ps 106:23, Jer 5:1, Hes 13:5. Jag sökte bland dem efter någon som skulle bygga en mur och ställa sig i gapet inför mig till försvar för landet så att jag inte skulle fördärva det. Men jag fann ingen. 31 Därför öser jag min vrede över dem och gör slut på dem med min harms eld. Deras gärningar ska jag låta komma över deras huvuden, säger Herren Gud."
