Ezequiel 10

1 Then I looked, and see, in the expanse that was over the head of the cherubim there appeared above them as it were a sapphire*10:1 or, lapis lazuli stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne. 2 He spoke to the man clothed in linen, and said, "Go in between the whirling wheels, even under the cherub, and fill both your hands with coals of fire from between the cherubim, and scatter them over the city."

He went in as I watched. 3 Now the cherubim stood on the right side of the house when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court. 4 Yahweh’s glory mounted up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of Yahweh’s glory. 5 The sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of God Almighty when he speaks.

6 It came to pass, when he commanded the man clothed in linen, saying, "Take fire from between the whirling wheels, from between the cherubim," that he went in and stood beside a wheel. 7 The cherub stretched out his hand from between the cherubim to the fire that was between the cherubim, and took some of it, and put it into the hands of him who was clothed in linen, who took it and went out. 8 The form of a man’s hand appeared here in the cherubim under their wings.

9 I looked, and behold, there were four wheels beside the cherubim, one wheel beside one cherub, and another wheel beside another cherub. The appearance of the wheels was like a beryl stone. 10 As for their appearance, the four of them had one likeness, like a wheel within a wheel. 11 When they went, they went in their four directions. They didn’t turn as they went, but to the place where the head looked they followed it. They didn’t turn as they went. 12 Their whole body, including their backs, their hands, their wings, and the wheels, were full of eyes all around, even the wheels that the four of them had. 13 As for the wheels, they were called in my hearing, "the whirling wheels". 14 Every one of them had four faces. The first face was the face of the cherub. The second face was the face of a man. The third face was the face of a lion. The fourth was the face of an eagle.

15 The cherubim mounted up. This is the living creature that I saw by the river Chebar. 16 When the cherubim went, the wheels went beside them; and when the cherubim lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the wheels also didn’t turn from beside them. 17 When they stood, these stood. When they mounted up, these mounted up with them; for the spirit of the living creature was in them.

18 Yahweh’s glory went out from over the threshold of the house and stood over the cherubim. 19 The cherubim lifted up their wings and mounted up from the earth in my sight when they went out, with the wheels beside them. Then they stood at the door of the east gate of Yahweh’s house; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.

20 This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river Chebar; and I knew that they were cherubim. 21 Every one had four faces, and every one four wings. The likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings. 22 As for the likeness of their faces, they were the faces which I saw by the river Chebar, their appearances and themselves. They each went straight forward.

Herrens härlighet lämnar templet

1 *Hes 1:22f, Upp 4:3. Jag fick se att på fästet över kerubernas huvuden fanns något som såg ut att vara av safirsten och till formen liknade en tron. Den syntes över keruberna. 2 *Hes 1:13.Herren sade till mannen som var klädd i linnekläderna: "Gå in mellan hjulen, in under keruben och fyll dina händer med eldsglöd från platsen mellan keruberna och strö ut dem över staden." Och jag såg honom gå.

3 *1 Kung 8:10, Jes 6:4. Keruberna stod till höger om huset när mannen gick in, och ett moln uppfyllde den inre förgården. 4 *Hes 9:3, 11:23. Men Herrens härlighet höjde sig från keruben och flyttade sig till husets tröskel. Huset uppfylldes av molnet och förgården av glansen från Herrens härlighet. 5 *Hes 1:24. Dånet av kerubernas vingar hördes ända till den yttre förgården. Det var som Gud den Alls­mäktiges röst då han talar. 6 När han befallde mannen som var klädd i linnekläderna att hämta eld från platsen mellan hjulen, inne mellan keruberna, gick han in och ställde sig bredvid ett av hjulen. 7 Då räckte en av keruberna ut sin hand mellan de andra keruberna till elden, som brann mellan dem, och tog av elden och lade i händerna på honom som var klädd i linnekläderna, och han tog elden och gick ut.

8 *Hes 1:8. Under kerubernas vingar syntes något som hade formen av en människohand. 9 *Hes 1:15f. Jag fick då se fyra hjul stå invid dem, ett hjul vid var kerub. Hjulen liknade gnistrande krysolit­sten. 10 Alla fyra såg likadana ut, och ett hjul tycktes vara insatt i ett annat. 11 När keruberna skulle gå, kunde de gå åt alla fyra sidorna. De behövde inte vända sig när de gick, för åt det håll huvudet vände sig, gick de and­ra efter, utan att de behövde vända sig när de gick. 12 *Hes 1:18, Upp 4:8. Hela deras kropp, deras rygg, deras händer och vingar, ja, till och med deras fyra hjul, var fulla med ögon runt omkring. 13 Jag hörde att hjulen kallades hjulverk. 14 *Hes 1:5f. Var och en av keruberna hade fyra ansikten. Det första ansiktet var en kerubs ansikte, det andra en män­niskas, det tredje ett lejons och det fjärde en örns ansikte.

15 *Hes 1:3. Sedan höjde sig keruberna. Det var samma varelser som jag hade sett vid floden Kebar. 16 *Hes 1:19f. När keruberna gick, gick också hjulen bredvid dem, och när keruberna lyfte sina vingar för att höja sig över jorden, skilde sig inte hjulen ifrån dem. 17 När de stod stilla, stod också hjulen stilla, och när de höjde sig, höjde sig också hjulen, för varelsernas ande var i hjulen.

18 Och Herrens härlighet flyttade sig bort från husets tröskel och stannade över keruberna. 19 Då såg jag hur keruberna lyfte sina vingar och höjde sig över jorden, och när de begav sig i väg var hjulen med dem. De stannade vid ingången till östra porten av Herrens hus, och härligheten från Israels Gud vilade över dem. 20 *Hes 1:3f. Det var samma varelser som jag hade sett under Israels Gud vid floden Kebar, och jag förstod att det var keruber. 21 Var och en hade fyra ansikten och fyra vingar, och under deras vingar var något som liknade människohänder. 22 *Hes 1:9, 12. Deras ansikten var likadana som de ansikten jag hade sett vid floden Kebar. Så såg de ut och sådana var de. De gick alla rakt fram.
