Ezequiel 2

1 He said to me, "Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak with you." 2 The Spirit entered into me when he spoke to me, and set me on my feet; and I heard him who spoke to me.

3 He said to me, "Son of man, I send you to the children of Israel, to a nation of rebels who have rebelled against me. They and their fathers have transgressed against me even to this very day. 4 The children are impudent and stiff-hearted. I am sending you to them, and you shall tell them, ‘This is what the Lord*2:4 The word translated "Lord" is "Adonai." Yahweh says.’ 5 They, whether they will hear, or whether they will refuse—for they are a rebellious house—yet they will know that there has been a prophet among them. 6 You, son of man, don’t be afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you, and you dwell among scorpions. Don’t be afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house. 7 You shall speak my words to them, whether they will hear or whether they will refuse; for they are most rebellious. 8 But you, son of man, hear what I tell you. Don’t be rebellious like that rebellious house. Open your mouth, and eat that which I give you."

9 When I looked, behold, a hand was stretched out to me; and behold, a scroll of a book was in it. 10 He spread it before me. It was written within and without; and lamentations, mourning, and woe were written in it.

Gud kallar Hesekiel till profet

1 *Dan 10:11, Apg 9:6. Han sade till mig: "Människo­barn,*2:1MänniskobarnHebr. ben Adám, samma ord som "människosonen" (jfr Dan 7:13, Matt 8:20). res dig på dina fötter så ska jag tala med dig." 2 *Hes 3:24, Dan 10:9f. När han talade till mig, kom Anden in i mig och reste upp mig på mina fötter. Och jag hörde honom tala till mig, 3 han sade: "Människobarn, jag sänder dig till Israels barn, till de avfälliga folken som har gjort uppror mot mig. De och deras fäder har syndat mot mig ända till i dag. 4 *Jes 48:4, Jer 3:3, 5:3, Hes 3:7. Till barnen med fräck uppsyn och hårda hjärtan sänder jag dig, och du ska säga till dem: Så säger Herren Gud*2:4Herren GudHebr. Adonaí Jhvh (Herren Herren). När Gudsnamnet Jhvh är sammansatt med ordet "Adonaí" (Herre) anger grundtextens vokaler att det istället ska uttalas "Elohím" (Gud).. 5 *Jes 28:9, Hes 33:33. Vare sig de lyssnar eller inte – för de är ett upproriskt släkte – ska de ändå inse att en profet har varit ibland dem.

6 *Jer 1:8, 17, Hes 3:9, 28:24, Mika 7:4, Luk 12:4, 1 Petr 3:14. Och du människobarn, var inte rädd för dem och var inte rädd för deras ord, trots att du omges av tistlar och törnen och bor bland skorpioner. Bli inte rädd för deras ord och tappa inte modet, för de är ett upproriskt släkte. 7 *Hes 2:4. Du ska tala mina ord till dem vare sig de lyssnar eller inte, för de är upproriska.

8 *Upp 10:9f. Men du människobarn, hör vad jag talar till dig. Var inte upprorisk som detta upproriska släkte. Öppna din mun och ät vad jag ger dig." 9 Och jag såg en hand räckas ut mot mig, och i den såg jag en bokrulle. 10 Han bredde ut den framför mig. Den var fullskriven på insidan och utsidan, och där stod skrivet sorgesånger, suckan och jämmerrop.
