Ezequiel 25

1 Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 2 "Son of man, set your face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them. 3 Tell the children of Ammon, ‘Hear the word of the Lord Yahweh! The Lord Yahweh says, "Because you said, ‘Aha!’ against my sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into captivity, 4 therefore, behold, I will deliver you to the children of the east for a possession. They will set their encampments in you and make their dwellings in you. They will eat your fruit and they will drink your milk. 5 I will make Rabbah a stable for camels and the children of Ammon a resting place for flocks. Then you will know that I am Yahweh." 6 For the Lord Yahweh says: "Because you have clapped your hands, stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the contempt of your soul against the land of Israel, 7 therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand on you, and will deliver you for a plunder to the nations. I will cut you off from the peoples, and I will cause you to perish out of the countries. I will destroy you. Then you will know that I am Yahweh."

8 "‘The Lord Yahweh says: "Because Moab and Seir say, ‘Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations,’ 9 therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on its frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon, and Kiriathaim, 10 to the children of the east, to go against the children of Ammon; and I will give them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations. 11 I will execute judgments on Moab. Then they will know that I am Yahweh."

12 "‘The Lord Yahweh says: "Because Edom has dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended, and taken revenge on them," 13 therefore the Lord Yahweh says, "I will stretch out my hand on Edom, and will cut off man and animal from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman. They will fall by the sword even to Dedan. 14 I will lay my vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel. They will do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath. Then they will know my vengeance," says the Lord Yahweh.

15 "‘The Lord Yahweh says: "Because the Philistines have taken revenge, and have taken vengeance with contempt of soul to destroy with perpetual hostility," 16 therefore the Lord Yahweh says, "Behold, I will stretch out my hand on the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast. 17 I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes. Then they will know that I am Yahweh, when I lay my vengeance on them."’"

Profetia mot Ammon

1 Herrens ord kom till mig:

Säg till ammoniterna: Hör Herren Guds ord! Så säger Herren Gud:

Eftersom du ropade ’Ha ha!’ mot min helgedom när den blev vanhelgad och mot Israels land när det lades öde och mot Juda hus när det gick i landsflykt, 4 se, därför ska jag ge dig till österlänningarna, så att de får slå upp sina tältläger och sätta upp sina boningar i dig. De ska äta din frukt och de ska dricka din mjölk. 5 Jag ska göra Rabba till en betesmark för kameler och ammoniternas land till en lägerplats för fårhjordar, och ni ska inse att jag är Herren. 6 *Job 27:23, Hes 36:5. För så säger Herren Gud: Eftersom du klappar i händerna och stampar med fötterna och med allt det förakt du har i din själ gläder dig över Israels lands olycka, 7 se, därför ska jag räcka ut min hand mot dig och ge dig till byte åt hednafolken. Jag ska utrota dig från folken och utplåna dig ur länderna. Jag ska förgöra dig, och du ska inse att jag är Herren.

Profetia mot Moab

8 *Jes 15:1–16:14, Jer 48:1f, Amos 2:1f. Så säger Herren Gud:

Eftersom Moab och Seir säger: ’Se, det är med Juda hus som med alla andra folk’, 9 därför ska jag öppna Moabs bergsluttningar så att de blir utan städer, utan sina gränsstäder, landets prydnad: Bet-Hajeshimot, Baal-Meon och Kirjatajim. 10 Till besittning åt österlänningarna ska jag ge bort dem tillsammans med ammoniterna, så att man inte mer minns ammoniterna bland folken. 11 Moab ska jag döma, och de ska inse att jag är Herren.

Profetia mot Edom

12 *2 Krön 28:17, Ps 137:7, Jer 49:7f, Hes 35:2f, Amos 1:11f, Ob v 1f. Så säger Herren Gud:

Eftersom Edom har handlat så hämndgirigt mot Juda hus och dragit på sig svår skuld genom sin hämnd, 13 därför, säger Herren Gud, ska jag räcka ut min hand mot Edom*25:13mot EdomHärjades år 552 f Kr av Babels kung Nabonidus (se not till Dan 5:1) . och utrota både människor och djur. Jag ska ödelägga det, och från Teman till Dedan ska de falla för svärd. 14 Jag ska hämnas på Edom genom mitt folk Israel, och de ska handla med Edom enligt min brinnande vrede. Edom ska så få känna min hämnd, säger Herren Gud.

Profetia mot filisteerna

15 *2 Krön 28:18, Jes 14:29f, Jer 47:1f, Amos 1:6f, Sak 9:5f. Så säger Herren Gud:

Eftersom filisteerna*25:15filisteernaUtplånades som självständigt folk av Nebukadnessar år 588 f Kr. har handlat så hämndgirigt och med förakt i själen velat hämnas och i sin eviga fiendskap velat fördärva, 16 *Sef 2:5. därför säger Herren Gud så: Se, jag ska räcka ut min hand mot filisteerna och utrota kereteerna*25:16kereteernaUtvandrare från Kreta som bodde i Gazaområdet (1 Sam 30:14). och förgöra dem som finns kvar i Kustlandet. 17 Jag ska hämnas stort på dem, när jag straffar dem i min vrede. Och de ska inse att jag är Herren, när jag låter min hämnd drabba dem."
