Minä kasvatin lapsia, sain heidät suuriksi,

mutta he luopuivat minusta.

3 Härkä tuntee omistajansa

ja aasi isäntänsä seimen;

mutta Israel ei tunne,

minun kansani ei ymmärrä.

4 Voi syntistä sukua, raskaasti rikkonutta kansaa,

pahantekijäin siementä, kelvottomia lapsia!

He ovat hyljänneet Herran,

pitäneet Israelin Pyhää pilkkanansa,
