Isaías 25

He Hīmene Whakamoemiti

1 E Ihowā, ko koe tōku Atua;

ka whakanuia koe e ahau,

ka whakamoemititia e ahau tōu ingoa;

he mahi whakamīharo hoki āu,

arā ko ngā whakaaro i takoto nei i mua,

i runga i te pono, i te tika.

2 Kua meinga hoki e koe te pā hei pūranga;

te pā kaha, hei ururua;

te whare kīngi o ngā tāngata kē, kore iho tērā pā;

e kore e hangā ā ake ake.

3 Nā, ka whakakorōriatia koe e te iwi kaha,

ka wehi te pā o ngā iwi nanakia i a koe.

4 Hei pā kaha hoki koe mō te ware,

hei pā kaha mō te rawakore i tōna hēnga,

hei whakaruru kei mate i te tūpuhi,

hei whakahauhau mō te werawera.

Ina rite te hau o te hunga nanakia

ki te tūpuhi e āki mai ana ki te taiepa.

5 Ka rite ki te mahana i te wāhi maroke te ngangau o ngā tāngata kē

ka whakahokia iho nei e koe.

Ka rite ki te mahana i ngā wā e whakamarumarua ana e te kapua,

ka iti iho te waiata a te hunga nanakia.

6 Ā, ka tukua e Ihowā o ngā mano

he hākari mā ngā iwi katoa ki runga ki tēnei maunga,

he mea mōmona, he wāina nganga hei hākari,

he mea mōmona, kī tonu i te hinu wheua,

he wāina nganga, tatari rawa.

7 Ka whakakāhoretia anō e ia i runga i tēnei maunga

te mata o te hīpoki e hīpoki nei i ngā iwi katoa,

me te taupoki e taupoki nei i ngā tauiwi katoa.

8 Kua horomia e ia te mate ake ake;

ā, ka horoia e te Ariki, e Ihowā, ngā roimata

o ngā kanohi katoa,

ka whakakāhoretia anō e ia te whakahāwea ki tāna iwi

puta noa i te whenua;

nā Ihowā nei hoki te kupu.

9 Ko te kupu anō tēnei i taua rā,

"Nanā, ko tō tātou Atua tēnei;

i tatari tātou ki a ia, ka ora anō tātou i a ia.

Ko Ihowā tēnei; i tatari tātou ki a ia;

ka hari tātou, ka koa ki tāna whakaoranga."

10 Nō te mea ka okioki te ringa o Ihowā ki tēnei maunga,

ā, ka takahia a Moapa ki raro i tōna wāhi,

me te kakau wīti e takahia ana ki te wai o te pūranga paru.

11 Ā, ka totoro ōna ringa i waenganui o reira pērā me te kaikauhoe

e toro ana i ōna ringa ina kauhoe ia;

ka tukua hoki ki raro tōna whakapehapeha me ngā mahi a ōna ringa.

12 Nā, ko te wāhi kaha o te pourewa tiketike o ōu taiepa,

kua tukua iho e ia,

takoto rawa, pā rawa ki te whenua,

ki te puehu rawa.

1 O Jehovah, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things, even counsels of old, in faithfulness and truth. 2 For thou hast made of a city a heap, of a fortified city a ruin, a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built. 3 Therefore shall a strong people glorify thee; a city of terrible nations shall fear thee. 4 For thou hast been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. 5 As the heat in a dry place wilt thou bring down the noise of strangers; as the heat by the shade of a cloud, the song of the terrible ones shall be brought low.

6 And in this mountain will Jehovah of hosts make unto all peoples a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. 7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering that covereth all peoples, and the veil that is spread over all nations. 8 He hath swallowed up death for ever; and the Lord Jehovah will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the reproach of his people will he take away from off all the earth: for Jehovah hath spoken it.

9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is Jehovah; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. 10 For in this mountain will the hand of Jehovah rest; and Moab shall be trodden down in his place, even as straw is trodden down in the water of the dunghill. 11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst thereof, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim; but Jehovah will lay low his pride together with the craft of his hands. 12 And the high fortress of thy walls hath he brought down, laid low, and brought to the ground, even to the dust.
