Kia Hari a Hiona
1 Maranga, maranga;
kākahuria tōu kaha, e Hiona!
Kākahuria ōu kahu whakapaipai,
e Hiruhārama, e te pā tapu;
nō te mea heoi anō haerenga mai ki a koe
o te mea kokotikore, o te mea poke.
2 Ruperupea atu te puehu i a koe, whakatika,
noho iho, e Hiruhārama!
Wetekina ngā here i tōu kakī,
e te tamāhine herehere a Hiona!
3 Ko te kupu hoki tēnei a Ihowā:
Kua hokona kautia atu koutou;
nā, ehara i te moni māna koutou e whakahoki mai.
4 Ko te kupu hoki tēnei a te Ariki, a Ihowā:
"Haere atu tāku iwi ki Īhipa i mua, ki reira noho ai;
nā, kāhore he rawa i whakatupuria kinotia ai rātou e te Ahiriana.
5 "Nā, he aha rā tāku i konei," e ai tā Ihowā;
"ka kāhakina kautia atu nei hoki tāku iwi?
Tangi auē ana i ō rātou rangatira," e ai tā Ihowā,
"e whakahāweatia tonutia ana tōku ingoa i tēnei rā, i tēnei rā.
6 Mō konei ka mōhio tāku iwi ki tōku ingoa;
mō konei ka mōhio rātou i taua rā
ko ahau te kōrero nei;
nanā, ko ahau tēnei."
7 Anō te āhuareka o ngā waewae i runga i ngā maunga
o te kaikawe i te rongo pai,
e kauwhau ana i te maunga rongo;
e kawe mai ana i te rongo whakahari o te pai,
e kauwhau ana i te ora;
e mea ana ki a Hiona,
"E kīngi ana tōu Atua."
8 Te reo o āu tūtei! Ka maranga i a rātou te reo,
ka waiata ngātahi;
nō te mea ka kite rātou he kanohi, he kanohi,
ua whakahoki a Ihowā i Hiona.
9 Hāmama, waiata ngātahi,
e ngā wāhi o Hiruhārama kua ururuatia;
kua whakamārie hoki a Ihowā i tāna iwi,
kua hoko i Hiruhārama.
10 Kua huhua te ringa tapu o Ihowā
ki te aroaro o ngā tauiwi katoa,
ā, ka kite ngā pito katoa o te ao
i te whakaora a tō tātou Atua.
11 Maunu, maunu, haere atu i reira!
Kaua e pā ki te mea poke;
haere atu i roto i a ia; kia mā,
e ngā kaimau o ngā oko a Ihowā.
12 E kore hoki koutou e haere kaikā,
e kore hoki e haere pērā i te whati;
nō te mea ka haere a Ihowā i tō koutou aroaro;
ko te Atua hoki o Īharaira hei hiku mō koutou.
Te Pononga e Mamae ana
13 Nanā, ka mahi tūpato tāku pononga,
ka whakatiketiketia ia, ka hāpainga ki runga,
ā, ka tiketike rawa atu.
14 Pērā i te tini i mīharo ki a koe
– i kino iho hoki tōna kanohi i tō te tangata,
tōna āhua i tō ngā tama a te tangata –
15 waihoki he maha ngā iwi ka tāuhiuhia e ia;
ā, ka kopi te māngai o ngā kīngi ki a ia.
Nō te mea ko ngā mea kīhai i kōrerotia ki a rātou ka kitea,
ko ngā mea kīhai i rangona ka mōhiotia.
1 Awake, awake, put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean. 2 Shake thyself from the dust; arise, sit on thy throne, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bonds of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
3 For thus saith Jehovah, Ye were sold for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money. 4 For thus saith the Lord Jehovah, My people went down at the first into Egypt to sojourn there: and the Assyrian hath oppressed them without cause. 5 Now therefore, what do I here, saith Jehovah, seeing that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them do howl, saith Jehovah, and my name continually all the day is blasphemed. 6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak; behold, it is I.
7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace, that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation, that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! 8 The voice of thy watchmen! they lift up the voice, together do they sing; for they shall see eye to eye, when Jehovah returneth to Zion. 9 Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem; for Jehovah hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem. 10 Jehovah hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; cleanse yourselves, ye that bear the vessels of Jehovah. 12 For ye shall not go out in haste, neither shall ye go by flight: for Jehovah will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rearward.
13 Behold, my servant shall deal wisely, he shall be exalted and lifted up, and shall be very high. 14 Like as many were astonished at thee (his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men), 15 so shall he sprinkle many nations; kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they understand.
