1 For the Chief Musician. [A Psalm] of David. The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done disgusting works; There is none who does good.2 Yahweh looked down from heaven on the sons of man, To see if there were any who understood, That sought after God.3 They have all gone aside; they have together become filthy; There is none who does good, no, not one.4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people [as] they eat bread, And do not call on Yahweh?5 There they were in great fear; For God is in the generation of the righteous.6 You{+} put to shame the counsel of the poor, Because Yahweh is his refuge.7 Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When Yahweh brings back the captivity of his people, Then will Jacob rejoice, [and] Israel will be glad.

1 Diz o tolo em seu coração: "Deus não existe". Corromperam-se e cometeram atos detestáveis; não há ninguém que faça o bem.2 O Senhor olha dos céus para os filhos dos homens, para ver se há alguém que tenha entendimento, alguém que busque a Deus.3 Todos se desviaram, igualmente se corromperam; não há ninguém que faça o bem, não há nem um sequer.4 Será que nenhum dos malfeitores aprende? Eles devoram o meu povo como quem come pão, e não clamam pelo Senhor!5 Olhem! Estão tomados de pavor! Pois Deus está presente no meio dos justos.6 Vocês, malfeitores, frustram os planos dos pobres, mas o refúgio deles é o Senhor.7 Ah, se de Sião viesse a salvação para Israel! Quando o Senhor restaurar o seu povo, Jacó exultará! Israel se regozijará!
