1 For the Chief Musician; set to Shoshannim. [A Psalm] of the sons of Korah. Maschil. A Song of loves. My heart overflows with a goodly matter; I speak the things which I have made concerning the king: My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.2 You are fairer than the sons of man; Grace is poured into your lips: Therefore God has blessed you forever.3 Gird your sword on your thigh, O mighty one, Your glory and your majesty.4 And in your majesty ride on prosperously, Because of truth and meekness [and] righteousness: And your right hand will teach you awesome things.5 Your arrows are sharp; The peoples fall under you; [They are] in the heart of the king's enemies.6 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever: A scepter of equity is the scepter of your kingdom.7 You have loved righteousness, and hated wickedness: Therefore God, your God, has anointed you With the oil of gladness above your peers.8 All your garments [smell of] myrrh, and aloes, [and] cassia; Out of ivory palaces stringed instruments have made you glad.9 Kings' daughters are among your honorable women: At your right hand stands the queen in gold of Ophir.10 Listen, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear; Forget also your own people, and your father's house:11 So will the king desire your beauty; For he is your lord; and you will reverence him.12 And the daughter of Tyre [will be there] with a gift; The rich among the people will entreat your favor.13 The king's daughter inside [the palace] is all glorious: Her clothing is inwrought with gold.14 She will be led to the king in embroidered work: The virgins her companions that follow her will be brought to you.15 With gladness and rejoicing they will be led: They will enter into the king's palace.16 Instead of your fathers will be your sons, Whom you will make princes in all the earth.17 I will make your name to be remembered in all generations: Therefore will the peoples give you thanks forever and ever.

1 Com o coração vibrando de boas palavras recito os meus versos em honra do rei; seja a minha língua como a pena de um hábil escritor.2 És dos homens o mais notável; derramou-se graça em teus lábios, visto que Deus te abençoou para sempre.3 Prende a espada à cintura, ó poderoso! Cobre-te de esplendor e majestade.4 Na tua majestade cavalga vitoriosamente pela verdade, pela misericórdia e pela justiça; que a tua mão direita realize feitos gloriosos.5 Tuas flechas afiadas atingem o coração dos inimigos do rei; debaixo dos teus pés caem nações.6 O teu trono, ó Deus, subsiste para todo o sempre; cetro de justiça é o cetro do teu reino.7 Amas a justiça e odeias a iniqüidade; por isso Deus, o teu Deus, escolheu-te dentre os teus companheiros ungindo-te com óleo de alegria.8 Todas as tuas vestes exalam aroma de mirra, aloés e cássia; nos palácios adornados de marfim ressoam os instrumentos de corda que te alegram.9 Filhas de reis estão entre as mulheres da tua corte; à tua direita está a noiva real enfeitada de ouro puro de Ofir.10 Ouça, ó filha, considere e incline os seus ouvidos: Esqueça o seu povo e a casa paterna.11 O rei foi cativado pela sua beleza; honre-o, pois ele é o seu senhor.12 A cidade de Tiro trará seus presentes; seus moradores mais ricos buscarão o seu favor.13 Cheia de esplendor está a princesa em seus aposentos, com vestes enfeitadas de ouro.14 Em roupas bordadas é conduzida ao rei, acompanhada de um cortejo de virgens; são levadas à tua presença.15 Com alegria e exultação são conduzidas ao palácio do rei.16 Os teus filhos ocuparão o trono dos teus pais; por toda a terra os farás príncipes.17 Perpetuarei a tua lembrança por todas as gerações; por isso as nações te louvarão para todo o sempre.
