1 O Yahweh, God to whom vengeance belongs, God to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth.2 Lift up yourself, Judge of the earth: Render to the proud [their] desert.3 Yahweh, how long will the wicked, How long will the wicked triumph?4 They gush out, they speak arrogantly: All the workers of iniquity boast themselves.5 They break in pieces your people, O Yahweh, And afflict your heritage.6 They slay the widow and the sojourner, And murder the fatherless.7 And they say, Yah will not see, Neither will the God of Jacob consider.8 Consider, you{+} brutish among the people; And you{+} fools, when will you{+} be wise?9 He who planted the ear, will he not hear? He who formed the eye, will he not see?10 He who chastises the nations, will not he correct, [Even] he who teaches man knowledge?11 Yahweh knows the thoughts of man, That they are vanity.12 Blessed is the [noble] man whom you chasten, O Yah, And teach out of your law;13 That you may give him rest from the days of adversity, Until the pit is dug for the wicked.14 For Yahweh will not cast off his people, Neither will he forsake his inheritance.15 For judgment will return to righteousness; And all the upright in heart will follow it.16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?17 Unless Yahweh had been my help, My soul would have soon stayed in silence.18 When I said, My foot slips; Your loving-kindness, O Yahweh, held me up.19 In the multitude of my thoughts inside me Your comforts delight my soul.20 Will the throne of wickedness have fellowship with you, Which frames mischief by statute?21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, And condemn the innocent blood.22 But Yahweh has been my high tower, And my God the rock of my refuge.23 And he has brought on them their own iniquity, And will cut them off in their own wickedness; Yahweh our God will cut them off.

1 Ó Senhor, Deus vingador; Deus vingador! Intervém!2 Levanta-te, Juiz da terra; retribui aos orgulhosos o que merecem.3 Até quando os ímpios, Senhor, até quando os ímpios exultarão?4 Eles despejam palavras arrogantes, todos esses malfeitores enchem-se de vanglória.5 Massacram o teu povo, Senhor, e oprimem a tua herança;6 matam as viúvas e os estrangeiros, assassinam os órfãos,7 e ainda dizem: "O Senhor não nos vê; o Deus de Jacó nada percebe".8 Insensatos, procurem entender! E vocês, tolos, quando se tornarão sábios?9 Será que quem fez o ouvido não ouve? Será que quem formou o olho não vê?10 Aquele que disciplina as nações os deixará sem castigo? Não tem sabedoria aquele que dá ao homem o conhecimento?11 O Senhor conhece os pensamentos do homem, e sabe como são fúteis.12 Como é feliz o homem a quem disciplinas, Senhor, aquele a quem ensinas a tua lei;13 tranqüilo, enfrentará os dias maus, enquanto que, para os ímpios, uma cova se abrirá.14 O Senhor não desamparará o seu povo; jamais abandonará a sua herança.15 Voltará a haver justiça nos julgamentos, e todos os retos de coração a seguirão.16 Quem se levantará a meu favor contra os ímpios? Quem ficará a meu lado contra os malfeitores?17 Não fosse a ajuda do Senhor, eu já estaria habitando no silêncio.18 Quando eu disse: "Os meus pés escorregaram", o teu amor leal, Senhor, me amparou!19 Quando a ansiedade já me dominava no íntimo, o teu consolo trouxe alívio à minha alma.20 Poderá um trono corrupto estar em aliança contigo?, um trono que faz injustiças em nome da lei?21 Eles planejam contra a vida dos justos e condenam os inocentes à morte.22 Mas o Senhor é a minha torre segura; o meu Deus é a rocha em que encontro refúgio.23 Fará cair sobre eles os seus crimes, e os destruirá por causa dos seus pecados; o Senhor, o nosso Deus, os destruirá!
