1 Louvarei ao Senhor em todo o tempo; o seu louvor estará continuamente na minha boca.2 A minha alma se gloriará no Senhor; os mansos o ouvirão e se alegrarão.3 Engrandecei ao Senhor comigo; e juntos exaltemos o seu nome.4 Busquei ao Senhor, e ele me respondeu; livrou-me de todos os meus temores.5 Olharam para ele, e foram iluminados; e os seus rostos não ficaram confundidos.6 Clamou este pobre, e o Senhor o ouviu, e o salvou de todas as suas angústias.7 O anjo do Senhor acampa-se ao redor dos que o temem, e os livra.8 Provai, e vede que o Senhor é bom; bem-aventurado o homem que nele confia.9 Temei ao Senhor, vós, os seus santos, pois nada falta aos que o temem.10 Os filhos dos leões necessitam e sofrem fome, mas àqueles que buscam ao Senhor bem nenhum faltará.11 Vinde, meninos, ouvi-me; eu vos ensinarei o temor do Senhor.12 Quem é o homem que deseja a vida, que quer largos dias para ver o bem?13 Guarda a tua língua do mal, e os teus lábios de falarem o engano.14 Aparta-te do mal, e faze o bem; procura a paz, e segue-a.15 Os olhos do Senhor estão sobre os justos, e os seus ouvidos atentos ao seu clamor.16 A face do Senhor está contra os que fazem o mal, para desarraigar da terra a memória deles.17 Os justos clamam, e o Senhor os ouve, e os livra de todas as suas angústias.18 Perto está o Senhor dos que têm o coração quebrantado, e salva os contritos de espírito.19 Muitas são as aflições do justo, mas o Senhor o livra de todas.20 Ele lhe guarda todos os seus ossos; nem sequer um deles se quebra.21 A malícia matará o ímpio, e os que odeiam o justo serão punidos.22 O Senhor resgata a alma dos seus servos, e nenhum dos que nele confiam será punido.

1 By David, when he disguised his reason before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed. (34:2) I will bless the Lord at all times: continually shall his praise be in my mouth.2 (34:3) My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear it, and be rejoiced.3 (34:4) Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.4 (34:5) I sought the Lord, and he answered me, and from all that I dreaded did he deliver me.5 (34:6) They who looked unto him, were indeed enlightened, and their faces were not put to the blush.6 (34:7) This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and out of all his distresses did he save him.7 (34:8) The angel of the Lord encampeth round about those who fear him, and delivereth them.8 (34:9) Experience and see that the Lord is good: happy is the man that trusteth in him.9 (34:10) Oh fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to those who fear him.10 (34:11) The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger; but those who seek the Lord shall not want any good.11 (34:12) Come, ye children, hearken unto me: the fear of the Lord will I teach you.12 (34:13) Who is the man that desireth life, loveth many days, that he may see happiness?13 (34:14) Guard thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking deceit.14 (34:15) Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.15 (34:16) The eyes of the Lord are directed unto the righteous, and his ears unto their cry.16 (34:17)But the anger of the Lord is against those that do evil, to cut off from the earth their remembrance.17 (34:18) Those cry, and the Lord heareth, and from all their distresses he delivereth them.18 (34:19) The Lord is nigh unto those that are broken–hearted: and he saveth those that are of a contrite spirit.19 (34:20) Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but out of them all the Lord ever delivereth him.20 (34:21) He watcheth all his bones: not one of them is broken.21 (34:22) The evil will slay the wicked: and they who hate the righteous shall incur guiltiness.22 (34:23) The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and all that trust in him shall not incur guiltiness.
