1 Tu, que és pastor de Israel, dá ouvidos; tu, que guias a José como a um rebanho; tu, que te assentas entre os querubins, resplandece.2 Perante Efraim, Benjamim e Manassés, desperta o teu poder, e vem salvar-nos.3 Faze-nos voltar, ó Deus, e faze resplandecer o teu rosto, e seremos salvos.4 Ó Senhor Deus dos Exércitos, até quando te indignarás contra a oração do teu povo?5 Tu os sustentas com pão de lágrimas, e lhes dás a beber lágrimas com abundância.6 Tu nos pões em contendas com os nossos vizinhos, e os nossos inimigos zombam de nós entre si.7 Faze-nos voltar, ó Deus dos Exércitos, e faze resplandecer o teu rosto, e seremos salvos.8 Trouxeste uma vinha do Egito; lançaste fora os gentios, e a plantaste.9 Preparaste-lhe lugar, e fizeste com que ela deitasse raízes, e encheu a terra.10 Os montes foram cobertos da sua sombra, e os seus ramos se fizeram como os cedros de Deus.11 Ela estendeu a sua ramagem até ao mar, e os seus ramos até ao rio.12 Por que quebraste então os seus valados, de modo que todos os que passam por ela a vindimam?13 O javali da selva a devasta, e as feras do campo a devoram.14 Oh! Deus dos Exércitos, volta-te, nós te rogamos, atende dos céus, e vê, e visita esta vide;15 E a videira que a tua destra plantou, e o ramo que fortificaste para ti.16 Está queimada pelo fogo, está cortada; pereceu pela repreensão da tua face.17 Seja a tua mão sobre o homem da tua destra, sobre o filho do homem, que fortificaste para ti.18 Assim nós não te viraremos as costas; guarda-nos em vida, e invocaremos o teu nome.19 Faze-nos voltar, Senhor Deus dos Exércitos; faze resplandecer o teu rosto, e seremos salvos.

(80:2) O Shepherd of Israel, give ear, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.2 (80:3) Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Menasseh awaken thy might, and come to our help.3 (80:4) O God, cause us to return, and let thy countenance shine, that we may be saved.4 (80:5) O Lord of hosts, how long shall thy anger smoke against the prayer of thy people?5 (80:6) Thou feedest them with the bread of tears, and givest them tears to drink in great measure.6 (80:7) Thou renderest us a contest unto our neighbors: and our enemies hold derision among themselves.7 (80:8) O God of hosts, cause us to return, and let thy countenance shine, that we may be saved.8 (80:9) A vine didst thou remove out of Egypt: thou drovest out nations, and plantedst it.9 (80:10) Thou didst clear out a place before it, and it struck its root deeply, and it filled the land.10 (80:11) Mountains were covered with its shadow, and with its boughs the cedars of God.11 (80:12) It sent out its tendrils as far as the sea, and unto the river its suckers.12 (80:13) Wherefore hast thou now broken down its fences, so that all who pass by the way pluck the fruit from it?13 (80:14) The boar out of the forest doth gnaw at it, and what moveth on the field feedeth on it.14 (80:15) O God of hosts, return; I pray thee, look down from heaven, and behold, and think of this vine;15 (80:16) And of the sprout which thy right hand hath planted, and of the branch that thou hast made strong for thyself.16 (80:17) It is burnt with fire, it is hewn down; because of the rebuke of thy countenance do they perish.17 (80:18) Let thy hand be over the man of thy right hand, over the son of man whom thou hast made strong for thyself.18 (80:19) Then will we not swerve from thee: revive us again, and we will call on thy name.19 (80:20) O Lord God of hosts, cause us to return: let thy countenance shine, that we may be saved.
