1 Louvai ao Senhor, e invocai o seu nome; fazei conhecidas as suas obras entre os povos.2 Cantai-lhe, cantai-lhe salmos; falai de todas as suas maravilhas.3 Gloriai-vos no seu santo nome; alegre-se o coração daqueles que buscam ao Senhor.4 Buscai ao Senhor e a sua força; buscai a sua face continuamente.5 Lembrai-vos das maravilhas que fez, dos seus prodígios e dos juízos da sua boca;6 Vós, semente de Abraão, seu servo, vós, filhos de Jacó, seus escolhidos.7 Ele é o Senhor nosso Deus; os seus juízos estão em toda a terra.8 Lembrou-se da sua aliança para sempre, da palavra que mandou a milhares de gerações.9 A qual aliança fez com Abraão, e o seu juramento a Isaque.10 E confirmou o mesmo a Jacó por lei, e a Israel por aliança eterna,11 Dizendo: A ti darei a terra de Canaã, a região da vossa herança.12 Quando eram poucos homens em número, sim, mui poucos, e estrangeiros nela;13 Quando andavam de nação em nação e de um reino para outro povo;14 Não permitiu a ninguém que os oprimisse, e por amor deles repreendeu a reis, dizendo:15 Não toqueis os meus ungidos, e não maltrateis os meus profetas.16 Chamou a fome sobre a terra, quebrantou todo o sustento do pão.17 Mandou perante eles um homem, José, que foi vendido por escravo;18 Cujos pés apertaram com grilhões; foi posto em ferros;19 Até ao tempo em que chegou a sua palavra; a palavra do Senhor o provou.20 Mandou o rei, e o fez soltar; o governador dos povos, e o soltou.21 Fê-lo senhor da sua casa, e governador de toda a sua fazenda;22 Para sujeitar os seus príncipes a seu gosto, e instruir os seus anciãos.23 Então Israel entrou no Egito, e Jacó peregrinou na terra de Cão.24 E aumentou o seu povo em grande maneira, e o fez mais poderoso do que os seus inimigos.25 Virou o coração deles para que odiassem o seu povo, para que tratassem astutamente aos seus servos.26 Enviou Moisés, seu servo, e Arão, a quem escolhera.27 Mostraram entre eles os seus sinais e prodígios, na terra de Cão.28 Mandou trevas, e a fez escurecer; e não foram rebeldes à sua palavra.29 Converteu as suas águas em sangue, e matou os seus peixes.30 A sua terra produziu rãs em abundância, até nas câmaras dos seus reis.31 Falou ele, e vieram enxames de moscas e piolhos em todo o seu termo.32 Converteu as suas chuvas em saraiva, e fogo abrasador na sua terra.33 Feriu as suas vinhas e os seus figueirais, e quebrou as árvores dos seus termos.34 Falou ele e vieram gafanhotos e pulgão sem número.35 E comeram toda a erva da sua terra, e devoraram o fruto dos seus campos.36 Feriu também a todos os primogênitos da sua terra, as primícias de todas as suas forças.37 E tirou-os para fora com prata e ouro, e entre as suas tribos não houve um só fraco.38 O Egito se alegrou quando eles saíram, porque o seu temor caíra sobre eles.39 Estendeu uma nuvem por coberta, e um fogo para iluminar de noite.40 Oraram, e ele fez vir codornizes, e os fartou de pão do céu.41 Abriu a penha, e dela correram águas; correram pelos lugares secos, como um rio.42 Porque se lembrou da sua santa palavra, e de Abraão, seu servo.43 E tirou dali o seu povo com alegria, e os seus escolhidos com regozijo.44 E deu-lhes as terras dos gentios; e herdaram o trabalho dos povos;45 Para que guardassem os seus preceitos, e observassem as suas leis. Louvai ao Senhor.

1 O give thanks unto the Lord; call on his name: make known among the people his deeds.2 Sing unto, him, sing praises unto him: speak of all his wonderful works.3 Glorify yourselves in his holy name: let the heart of those rejoice that seek the Lord.4 Inquire after the Lord and his strength: seek his presence evermore.5 Remember his wonderful works which he hath done; his tokens, and the decrees of his mouth;6 O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob, his elect.7 He is the Lord our God: over all the earth are his decrees.8 He remembereth his covenant for ever, the word which he hath commanded, to the thousandth generation.9 Which he covenanted with Abraham; and his oath unto Isaac;10 And which he established unto Jacob as a statute, unto Israel as an everlasting covenant:11 Saying, "Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, as the portion of your inheritance."12 When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it;13 And when they wandered from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people:14 He suffered no man to oppress them; yea, he reproved kings for their sake;15 Saying, "Touch not my anointed, and do my prophets no harm,"––16 And he called for a famine over the land; every staff of bread he broke.17 He sent a man before them; for a servant was Joseph sold;18 They forced into fetters his feet; in iron was his body put:19 Until the time that his word came to pass, when the saying of the Lord had purified him.20 The king sent and unfettered him; the ruler of people, and let him go free.21 He appointed him lord of his house, and ruler of all his possession:22 That he might bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his ancients wisdom.23 Then came Israel into Egypt, and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.24 And he increased his people greatly, and made them stronger than their adversaries.25 He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilely with his servants.26 He sent Moses his servant, Aaron also whom he had made choice of.27 They displayed among them his effective signs, and wonders in the land of Ham.28 He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.29 He changed their waters into blood, and slew their fish.30 Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the very chambers of their kings.31 He spoke, and there came various wild beasts, lice also within all their boundary.32 He gave them as their rain hail, and flames of fire in their land.33 And he smote their vines and their fig–trees, and broke the trees within their boundary.34 He spoke, and the locusts came, and crickets, and that without number;35 And they ate up all the herbs in their land, and ate up the fruit of their ground.36 And he smote all the first–born in their land, the first of all their strength.37 And he brought them forth with silver and gold: and there was not one that stumbled among his tribes.38 Egypt rejoiced when they departed; for the dread of them was fallen upon them.39 He spread out a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light in the night.40 The people asked, and he brought quails, and with heavenly bread he satisfied them.41 He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out: they ran in the dry places like a river.42 For he remembered his holy word given to Abraham his servant.43 And he brought forth his people with gladness, with joyful song his elect.44 And he gave them the lands of nations; and the labor of people they obtained as an inheritance:45 So that they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws.
